Chapter 3

"Well I'll be right back, I have to go use the bathroom," Willow lied, as a small smile crossed her face. Riley stared at the leaving redhead who went the other direction other than the washroom. She smirked and stood up, facing the blonde who softly smiled at her.
"Well, now how did you know I would be here tonight?" Riley rhetorically asked, remembering she told Kimberly that 'Twilight's Water' clubbing was on Fridays. Kimberly slightly chuckled, as she began to look down at her feet. Riley smiled and patted Kimberly lightly on the head, before looking over at the dancefloor. Kimberly momentarily shivered at the touch, but Riley didn't notice at all. Kimberly looked over at Riley and then towards the dancefloor, before taking Riley's hand, leading her to the dancefloor. The brunette lightly shook her head as she was being dragged onto the dancefloor. Kimberly had serious dance moves on her side, which amused Riley as she danced with her. The beat blaring from the speakers was Money Maker by Ludacris, and Kimberly was hitting it up against Riley. The brunette giggled at the hardcore dancing the blonde was doing more or less giving her.
"This is going to be an interesting night," Riley thought to herself as the blonde began to come closer to her. Kimberly was on the verge of grinding against Riley, but she knew they just met and she shouldn't cross the line between having fun with someone and annoying someone. Soon, Kim turned her back to Riley and began to dance against her.
"Either this chick likes to have fun, or she likes me," Riley thought to herself once again, realizing that her arms were around Kimberly's waist.
"What am I doing? I'm practically grinding against...a girl," Kimberly thought as her arms were behind Riley's neck. Thinking about what she was doing, Kimberly wanted to stop, but she began to release her inhibitions faster than she could stop herself from dancing. The tracks continued to blare and it continued to raise Kimberly's energy. Riley felt both odd and somewhat relieved dancing with Kimberly, but she knew this was in itself weird seeing that they just met a week ago, and they haven't actually formally introduced themselves to each other. They're dancing began to absorb them into a different world, until a fight broke out. Riley jerked her head towards the crash and saw two guys ready to duke it out. She laid her head on Kimberly's shoulder, whispering in her ear.
"I'll be right back," Riley whispered, letting go of Kimberly as she walked towards the entrance of the club. Kimberly turned around and watched as Riley head to the brawl. She slowly followed, weaving herself out of the sea of people on the dancefloor.

Riley pulled out a couple of gloves from her jean pocket, pulling them on her hands. She saw the tall built brown haired man punch down the shorter, not as built dark haired man. The shorter man began to cower in fear, and the taller man grabbed him by the shirt, lifting him off the floor into the air. Before the taller man could punch the dark haired man, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around, only to get clipped across the face, dropping the shorter man back on the floor. The man on the floor scurried away, and Riley was up against someone a foot taller than her who looked completely pissed off.
"I either start the brawls or I end them...or I do both," Riley said to herself as she and the big guy began to circle around each other. The taller man threw a punch, but Riley easily dodged it and kicked the man forward onto his knees. The man growled and glared back at Riley who blankly looked at him. Kimberly finally made it to the brawl and saw the small ring of people surrounding Riley and the man. She quickly grabbed a beer bottle and ran at the taller man, smashing it over his head, but that had no effect on him whatsoever. Kimberly began to tremble with fear as the man began to inch towards her.
"For the love of," Riley inwardly sighed and tackled him away from Kimberly, trying to keep her from harm's way. She got up and looked over at Kimberly who looked frozen in fear. Riley raised an eyebrow and watched as her shadow began to get overshadowed itself. She groaned and turned around, only to get slapped across the face and onto the floor.
"Riley!" Kimberly shrieked as she saw Riley struggle to get up. She was ready to kneel by Riley, but Riley waved her off as she stood up on her own two feet.
"Dude, that was a bad idea. Kenn's mad at martial arts," Willow piped up, diverting the man's attention away from Riley who touched her lip seeing a drop of blood on it. Riley exhaled slowly and ran her hand through her hair.
"Oh, that's not a good sign," Willow said once again, causing the man to smirk and look at her.
"What is little Kenny going to run home to mommy?" The man mocked, looking around the crowd. Riley was in her own little world, concentrating her mind.
"Nah, I think you will," Riley smiled, as she began to throw punches by the second at the man, sending him back right to a beam. Every punch would connect and there would be a slight cracking sound, whether it be Riley's knuckles, the guy's bones or the friction of the gloves against the guy's skin. The whole crowd went silent, with the exception of the music, as they watched the short brunette attack the taller built man. Welts began to appear, blood began to drip and bruises began to darken as Riley continued to punch the guy. She finally stopped, knowing she did enough damage to scar him for life, so she stopped and walked away out of the club. She didn't want anymore trouble, so leaving was always the key.

Willow tagged behind and they began to distance themselves from the club. The two heard a clicking sound and looked back, seeing it was Kimberly who was trying to catch up after them. Willow and Riley stopped walking, glancing at each other. Willow winked and Riley subtly shook her head in amusement. Kimberly finally made it to them and looked over at Riley, who's lip began to swell.
"Come on, we should get you to my place, get some ice to bring down the swelling," Kimberly immediately stated as a couple drops of blood flowed from the corner of Riley's lip.
"No it's okay, my house is just around the block, we'll make it alright," Riley objected, seeing a glint of rejection in Kimberly's eyes which made her silent. Kimberly felt an odd sense of sadness in her, which completely confused her state of mind at that moment. She felt bad, but she didn't know why.
"Well, you can come along, keep an eye on Kenn," Willow suddenly said, seeing Kimberly's expression lighten up. Riley blankly stared at Willow, questioning her motives whether it was for Kenn's good or Kim's good. Willow looked at Riley who raised an eyebrow at her. The two friends looked over at Kimberly and continued their walk. There was a silence in the night, and the sky was pretty clear. The trio all walked in silence, not knowing what to say to each other.
"So, what brings you to Faloway Kimberly?" Willow randomly asked, trying to get a conversation going to kill the silence that hovered over them. Kimberly hummed and looked down at her feet.
"I'm originally from Mavory, and I wanted to find a place that supported dancing so I looked around, asked around and ended up at my cousin's doorstep. She said that Faloway was the leading supporter for dancers and that she was coming here for the music support. She's a singer, well attempting to hit it big someday, and I just tagged along. My parents were okay as long as my cousin would keep an eye on me, but she isn't doing a great job at the moment," Kimberly chuckled, realizing her cousin was barely at home to keep an eye on her. Riley and Willow softly chuckled as well, knowing this girl could be a lot more than they might expect.
"No wonder you could pull off those damn dance moves so well," Riley smiled, complimenting the blonde's incredible dance moves on the dancefloor. Kimberly began to blush at the compliment.
"Yeah, when I dance, it's my time, my world, my fun," Kimberly explained, watching as the other two nod.
"Wait, you said your cousin sings right?" Willow asked, watching Kimberly nod and seeing Riley's face turn pale.
"Riley here is an aspiring musician. She plays guitar, dances and sings. We're having a gig pretty soon, which is going to be awesome," Willow smiled, as she stopped walking. They all stopped, and looked up at Riley's house.
"Nice house," Kimberly said in awe as she stared at the white and red 2 storey house, with a front porch and unfenced lawn. Willow smiled and decided to take off.
"I better head home, tomorrow might be a long day cause of band practice," Willow grinned, realizing her departure was sneaky and it would completely irritate Riley. Riley stared at the redhead and had an expression on her face saying 'where-the-heck-do-you-think-you're-going?' which made Willow chuckle.
"Band practice isn't until the afternoon," Riley retorted, attempting to keep Willow with her. Riley's sudden change in mood internally startled her, which rarely ever happens.
"I know, but I like sleeping in and besides, I have an essay to write for Bio," Willow intelligently lied, causing Riley to smirk in disapproval. Kimberly looked over at the two friends and questioned herself being there.
"If there's a problem with me being here, you can say so and I can leave," Kimberly stated, causing the other two to look at her. Riley's mind scrambled, and so did Willow's.
"No, it's okay. If Will has to go do a Bio report, she can," Riley said, dragging the word 'has' making it sound completely hasty. Riley gave Willow the eye and shooed her off.
"Come on, my mouth is starting to throb," Riley sighed, as she lead Kim into her house. They walked into the house and it was completely clean and organized. They walked into the kitchen and Riley reached a chair before collapsing right on it. Kimberly rushed to Riley's side, thinking she actually passed out.
"I'm good, just really sleepy. Oh yes, ice," Riley shook her head as she stood up, only to get pushed back on the chair. Kimberly walked over to the fridge and pulled out the tray of ice cubes, placing it on the table. She also looked through all the drawers and found a towel to place a few cubes of ice in. Riley watched as the blonde began to take care of her. Wincing at the pain, as Kim pressed the ice against her skin, Riley took the towel and held it herself.
"Thanks," Riley smiled, holding the ice against her face. Kimberly smiled and sat beside Riley, placing her arms on the table.
"So why does it look like you live here alone?" Kimberly queried, looking around the partially large house. Riley softly smiled.
"I'm the kid of rich parents. I was what you called the perfect or so child, but I wanted to explore the world. Luckily my parents were accepting at my choices and let me come to Faloway for the same reason your cousin came here, for the music. I want to pursue music and maybe dance because that's my way of expressing who I am and what I feel. I have my band to thank for supporting me and Willow for putting up with me through all the crap we had to go through to make it this far. My parents bought me this house and they pay for it until I finally have a steady income to pay for it myself," Riley explained, telling Kim her story. Kimberly nodded and began to fiddle with her hands.
"Are you okay?" Riley asked, watching the blonde play with her hands. Kimberly nodded, but had this look of anxiety on her face. Riley placed her hand on Kim's and tilted her head.
"What's up?" Riley asked, looking straight into Kimberly's eyes.
"Those eyes...they look as if they can look into my soul," Kimberly thought, feeling as if she could hide nothing from Riley. Kimberly sighed and turned away.
"I just feel weird, after last week and tonight," Kimberly said, making Riley blink out of confusion.
"Oh, the kiss...and...the grinding I suppose?" Riley asked, watching as Kimberly turn into a shade of red once again.
"Yeah, I'm straight, but I let go of all my inhibitions when I was dancing with you," Kimberly confessed, turning darker and warmer inside. Riley chuckled, realizing the blonde was embarassed.
"It's okay, I don't mind. Nothing happened between us anyways, we're just acquaintances, unless you want to be friends," Riley said, seeing a spark go through Kimberly's eyes.
"Friends, but we just met," Kimberly stated in disbelief.
"Sure we just met, but something clicked and I know we can be friends," Riley smiled, watching the blonde smile as well.
"Hopefully we can just be friends," Riley thought.
