Story: Second Wind (all chapters)

[Author's notes: Just a little something I threw up for my favorite anime couple ever, Rei and Asuka! A review of my story would be nice]

A pair of sapphire eyes stared boredly out a tinted glass window, watching things getting wet in the cold raindrops that happen to pass by. It was a cold winter night, with freezing rain droplets pouring down from the heavens; if it was any colder the rain would turn into pounding hail. Their was a weary silence in the white limo car, aside from the sound of pounding droplets, that a twenty-four year old Asuka Langley Sohryu sat in. Her locks of apricot grew into dark strawberry blonde hair, making her hair look beautiful and glossy. Her hair style was relatively the same, yet it was slightly shorter then what it was when she was a fourteen year old. Her figure as well, is slimmer and curvy as every, creating a perfect female body that would make just about anyone jealous. Asuka began Japan’s most loveable, most beautiful, most adored actress at the age of seventeen, and still is loved around Japan, even in some foreign countries. Needless to say, she was filthy rich and get about anything she wanted. Asuka lived in Japan’s nicest mansion, right in Tokyo 3. When she turned sixteen, she lost contact with just about everyone she knew from NERV, except Shinji, whom she dated for a few months until Shinji got the guts to break up with her and date another man that was similar to Kaworu. Though, she’d never admit it to herself, Miss Sohryu wondered how the infamous Wonder Girl was doing, she hadn’t spoken, let alone heard from her sense the German girl had turned fifteen. Asuka had always suspected she went off with Shinji’s father, Gendo Ikari, but she wasn’t sure about that. “Miss Sohryu?” A husky voice said from the front of the car. Ocean blue optics instantly broke away from the window to look at the man driving the limo, Asuka was currently sitting in the back. “We’re almost to your home. Just thought, I’d inform you that.” The man said, then started to put his attention back to driving the stretched out car. Asuka just shrugged her slender shoulders and looked back out the window, glad to be back in Tokyo 3; she had just came back from a visit in Okinawa.

Chapter 2

The German girl’s azure eyes watched the things pass by, mainly people scrambling around trying to find protection out of the freezing hard pounding rain. One person particularly caught the attention of Asuka, it was a woman walking down the side walk, in the same direction the Asuka’s automobile was going, her head was looking down at the ground seeming not to mind the rain soaking her clothing. The outfit the woman was in was a cotton black hoodie, with the hood placed over her head, and a pair of blue doctor pants. The woman hand no umbrella or anything, she just allowed herself to get soaking wet in the freezing rain. “What an idiot walking around like that while it’s raining,” Asuka muttered to herself as the stretched car passed by the woman in which caught Asuka’s attention. Looking past the people scattering around, she looked around at the buildings, noticing the bill-boards some of them having herself on them. A prideful smirk fulfilled her lips; she adored the attention she got from her fans of Japan. Glancing at the buildings and what not, another thing had gotten the young woman’s attention, a worn down apartment complex. Asuka thought for a moment, trying to figure out why it looked so familiar. “Hey, do ya mind pulling into that parking lot over there?” Asuka asked the man whom was driving the car. “Uh… sure thing Ma’am.” The man swirled the car into the parking lot, as Asuka stared at the building from her window. Her minds raced with memories, trying to figure out why this building looked familiar to her, let alone trying to figure out why she wants to know. While looking out her window, out of the corner of her eyes, she caught site of that woman girl. Taking her eyes off the gray apartment building, Asuka glanced at the woman, catching site damp light blue haired under the black hood. Asuka widen her eyes when caught sight of that fimlar pale flesh and wet blue hair. In a rush, Asuka pressed the button, forcing the window to be rolled down. “First Child?” Asuka said quite clearly over the roaring of the rain as glossy crimson met with Asuka’s shiny sapphire eyes. The German girl gasped slightly when met face to face with an older version of the girl from her past. She didn’t gasp at the fact she saw her face, she gasped at the fact how purely exhausted and empty the expression in her face bore. It looked like the woman hadn’t slept for a day or two. “Rei Ayanami?” Asuka uttered as she leaned forward, poking her head very slightly out the window. “Yes…?” She answered back, her voice dry and hollow. “Scheisse. You’re still around this joint? Surprised a doll like isn’t with that wimp Shinji or the Commander.” Asuka said, in her egotistic voice. At that remark, Rei turned her away from Asuka, and continued to walk, trying not to mind the rain that didn’t seem to let up. Asuka furrowed her brows in angers as though, ‘How dare she walk away from me like that. Does she not recognize the great Asuka Langley Sohryu!?’ Asuka looked to the man driving, telling him to follow Ayanami. The car followed slowly with the walking Rei, the window with Asuka poking her head out was almost side by side with the soaking wet girl. “Hey, how dare you ignore me like that. And, hey, stop walking damnit!” Rei did even bother to look over at the temperamental woman, she just continued walking in the raining, seeming very tired out, with her soaking wet clothing clinging to her body. “Are you even listening to me?” Asuka snapped angrily. The wet blue haired woman gave a blank look towards the redheaded girl. Red optics fluttered a bit loosing their bright red color, growing into a pale red, as Rei’s walking slowed. A small gruffled noise came from the girl out in the rain, as she collapsed onto the cold asphalt ground. The man driving the car stopped, noticing in the rear view mirror that the girl Asuka was speaking to fell down. “Wonder girl…?” Was the last thing that reached the ears of Rei, before the world around turned black.
