(Prelude)

"You're very confident. What makes you think it can be done?" He asked his opponent not once taking his eyes off the expensive chess board. Each piece was hand carved from the finest ivory smuggled in from Africa.

He'd made sure the elephant was dead, a single shot to the head, testimony of his hunting skills before removing the tusk. Pictures of the safari hung on the walls of his study.

His sharp gaze landed on the perfect spot to move his king. Somehow he'd ended up on the defensive trying to avoid it's capture.

"What makes you think I can't do it?" She countered smoothly. He wasn't certain but he thought he could detect the hint of a smile as she watched him move his piece onto the dark square. He hesitated a moment before setting it down. As a businessman he new the importance of bluffing
unfortunetly so did the person sitting across from him.

"My corporation will put someone on the moon before you get on top of her." He said.

She smirked at his answer. "No one that beautiful could be so cold." She said. "And speaking of Xanatos Enterprises." She smoothly segwayed. "If I can seduce her, as a reward I want you to make me CEO of Gen-U-Tech Incorporated." At his shocked expression she continued.

"You no longer have any interest in the company but with my back ground in genetic research I can resurrect it." She added returning her focus to the game board. "What are your intentions?" He asked.

After the fiasco with the mutants and gargoyles he'd washed his hands of medical research and turned his focus to computer technology and robotics. "I have a few ideas nothing specific." She replied crypticaly. He leaned back in his seat studying her.

The poker face she wore gave nothing away. "You'll need an expert in the field of genetic research. Anton Sevarius seems to have dropped off the face of the earth." He said.

She frowned the lines momentarily marring her attractive features. "I don't want him. He's nothing more than a modern day Frankenstein." She spat in distaste. "I have a short list of candidates I'm going to offer the position." She told him. He quirked a dark brow in surprise.

"You've been thinking about this for some time?" He asked. She shrugged a slender shoulder. "What if you loose?" He asked. "What do I get if you can't seduce Elisa?"

She held the chess piece she'd picked up between two fingers. A smile lifting the corners of her full lips. "I will give you the one thing standing in your way of being the top technology company in North America." She said. "I'll complete the take over of my father's company, Cyberbiotics, and make you President." She offered.

He smiled delighting in the idea. "You are everything I could ever want in a woman." He said feeling the beginnings of arousal. "You're perfect in every way. But I do have one request." He said. He shook his head as mental images of his wife with Elisa flashed in his mind.

"I want to watch, from the beginning to the end, I want to see you fuck her." He said. "I want to hear her scream your name." His brown eyes burned into hers. "And when your done I want my turn with her too." He said. For a split second indecision showed on her face.

"Elisa despises you, she'll never allow you to touch her." She said. "But maybe I can convince her to allow you to watch." He stared at her suddenly feeling uneasy.

Reading his expression she moved to reassure him. "We could share her?" She suggested. He stared at her in silence.

"There is another way she could service me." He said. "I'll need her to help me get something past customs. He said. "Who better to do that than an NYPD detective." He added.

"What are you smuggling into the country?" Her own curiosity piqued. "I'm having something shipped in from Europe. She looked as if she wanted to ask more but she dropped it. "So," she drawled. "Do we have a deal?" She asked.

He smiled once again confident. Certain that he'd put himself in a win, win situation. "Let the games begin." He answered. "But Fox," she looked up from the board at his serious tone.

"If Elisa refuses to play by the rules, then all you get is one night." He said. "I will not allow you to see her behind my back." He paused staring intently at her. "Understood?" He asked.

She returned his look the atmosphere in the room going from playful to serious within seconds. A light laugh bubbled up from her throat. "Of course darling." She said. "And by the way," she added "check mate." She tipped over his king in defeat.

Chapter 2

Title: Meet The Ladies

Detective Elisa Maza leaned against a lamp post listening to the women around her talking shit.

"I told him if he wanted to touch my goodies it would cost him twenty a piece." The hooker nick named Big Mama shouted. She was a large pretty black woman in her mid thirties with breasts the size of melons.

Men seemed drawn to her big tits like bees to honey. They paid her to do all types of things to satisfy their fetishes. Some even paid to be smothered between them while she jacked them off.

She'd just been dropped off, by a John, and was telling them what had happened. "Then the little dick bastard had the nerve to ask me for a tit fuck." She rolled her eyes looking around at the other women.

"I said sure but thata cost yah fiddy. Can yall imagine his little dick," she held her fingers about three inches apart, "and my big tits."

She was laughing so hard her breasts jiggled up and down. "It was like a great white shark trying to swallow a raisin." Big Mama joked.

Elisa chuckled at the image of the woman's breasts smothering the John's tiny manhood.

The women high fived each other shouts of "girl you so crazy," echoed around Elisa.

For a moment she could almost forget that these women were considered crimininals.

Elisa looked at each of woman. They ranged from teens to women in their 40's.

Black/white/hispanic, all ethnic groups were present. She thought back to how she'd ended up on this assignment. There hadn't been a Gargoyle attack in months.

The members of the task force were getting restless with all the extra time on their hands.

Captain Chavez had decided it would be best to loan the officers out to other divisions. She and Matt had been sent to Vice. It made her sad to think that these women were so down on their luck they'd resorted to selling their bodies.

Some of the things the women talked about had allowed them to reopen a number of cold cases. The bodies of "Jane Doe's" had been turning up.

The cases had gone cold because the police hadn't been able to identify the victims. The corpses showed obvious signs of torture but finger prints and dental records had turned up nothing.

By listening to the hookers Elisa had been able to identify three of the dead women. It didn't surprise her that the victims were also prostitutes.

Serial killers often singled them out because they were easy targets and it took months before anyone reported them missing.

Elisa was still trying to figure out a way to get the women off the street before they too became another crime statistic or they ended up in prison.

Elisa was now two weeks into the assignment and no closer to figuring out a way to help the women.

She stood on the street corner dressed in four inch black patent leather shoes, thigh high sheer black stockings and a halter style black dress that barely covered her ass.

Her long black hair was loose cascading down the middle of her back. The only protection she had from the chilli night air was her red bombar.

"Salli girl you awful quiet what you over there thinkin." Elisa turned at the sound of her alias being called. "I'm thinkin' I need to sit my ass down these shoes are killing me."

The women looked at her shoes with approval. "Aint nothing wrong with those shoes. Those fuck me pumps been keepin' yah ass busy all night."

Elisa turned to respond to Big Mama but someone else answered. "Naw girl it aint the pumps it's cause she's latina. Those girls are in all the rap videos now."

Elisa rolled her eyes not bothering to correct the woman. People often mistook her as Latino when actually her mother was black and father Native American.

Cherrie an attractive blonde in her late twenties walked up to her. "You wanna hang out later Salli? I got some good stuff waitin' for me at home." Cherrie stated.

Elisa was surprised by the offer the other woman usually kept to herself.

Elisa had caught the blonde staring at her a few times but she'd never tried talking to Elisa until tonight. Elisa had assumed her boyfriend, a muscular dark haired man, had warned Cherrie to stay away from the other prostitutes.

Pimps often controlled their women by isolating them. "Lets talk about that later honey, okay?" Elisa asked.

Cherrie nodded walking back to her spot hips swaying suggestively in the pink leather pants she wore. After that things started to pick up.

A stretch black limousine drove by them on the opposite side of the street stopping at a red light. Elisa didn't pay any attention to it, at first, there were hundreds of them in the city.

When the light changed, to the aggravation of those driving behind it, the limo didn't move. She saw the drive side rear window slide down a few inches.

But from where she was standing she couldn't see the passenger. The light changed from red to green and the limo slowly drove through it.

Just as it was driving away a mini van pulled up. The male driver pointed to Elisa.

She smiled strutting up to the passenger side door and slid inside. She looked in her side mirror and could see the brake lights on the limo glowing red.

Thirty minutes later Elisa was back on the corner. No one noticed her partner, Matt Bluestone, now driving the van. She made a show of pulling down the hem of her dress and straightening her stockings.

She was still bent over adjusting her garters when a black limo pulled up to the curb in front of Elisa.

The driver got out and approached her.

"Your services have been requested madam." He stated. Elisa looked the chauffer up and down.

He was middle age, salt and pepper hair peeked out from his cap.

His grey eyes slid to the women standing behind Elisa. They lit up when they landed on Big Mama's assests.

"Who is requesting my services?" Elisa asked drawing his attention back to her.

The driver cleared his throat. "My clients can pay whatever you ask." He answered. She didn't like this.

Elisa couldn't see into the limo because of the tinted windows and her instincts told her it was the samelimo she'd seen earlier. That meant she was being watched.

Elisa felt someone come up behind her. "Yah need some back up girl. I'll go with yah." She turned slightly to see Big Mama looking at the limo suspiciously.

"It could be a bunch of broke ass horny teenage boys. Make em' show you the Benjamins up front."

Elisa nodded accepting her advice. She looked at the driver.

"Tell your client it'll cost a hundred an hour." He walked around to the driver side of the limo.

They could hear him speaking in hushed tones to whoever was inside through the open window. He came back around holding a fist full of money.

He counted out five crisp one hundred dollar bills handing them to Elisa. He reached around Eliza to hand Big Mama a single hundred dollar bill.

"My employer's appreciate your negotiating skills." She took the money folded it up and put it between her breasts.

"Ummmhmm just tell em' to make sure nothing happens to my girl. Or they'll be appreciating myfoot up their asses. Cause Mama don't play." Elisa would've laughed if the situation wasn't so dangerous.

Instead she turned sideways gave a slight up nod to Big Mama and stepped towards the limo.

She was surprised when the driver didn't move to open the passenger side door.

He was lingering in front of Big Mama his hat in his hands. Elisa heard him whisper.

"I'm off this weekend, if your not busy we could drive up to Atlantic City?" Big Mama looked at the driver, obviously surprised by the offer. "Okay, why the hell not. I'll see yah ass this weekend."

She reached in her purse pulled out a white business card and handed it to him. His happy grin split his face as he walked to the passenger side door and opened it for Elisa.

The fake smile she'd plastered on disappeared when she saw who was sitting across from her.

Chapter 3

Title: Million Dollar Offer

Elisa looked back and forth between the couple her temper quickly rising. She waited until the limo pulled away from the curb before speaking.

"If I thought for one moment, you'd spend at least a few hours in jail I'd arrest you both!"

David and Fox Xanatos smiled. Fox was leaning into the crook of her husband's arm looking as cool as ever. Her smoky voice was calm when she spoke.

"Come on detective we all know we'd be out of jail, without charges being filed, before the ink had a chance to dry on our finger prints."

Elisa new Fox
was right.  Their combined net worth exceeded that of several small countries and they had more connections than Ma Bell.

The couple was a mystery. Attractive, wealthy, secretive.  Their business associates ranged from the respectable to down right shady.

If it weren't for
their involvement with the gargoyles, Elisa was certain their paths would never have crossed.

She had to admit even though she had her suspicions there was something
magnetic about them.

David Xanatos's dark good looks complimented his wife's fair complexion.

The fact that Fox was only half human added to her allure. Elisa assumed it was Fox's fay heritage that gave her an almost unearthy appearance.

"Yeah well, maybe I just want the satisfaction of seeing you both in a pair of shiny steel cuffs."

Fox laughed the sound husky, deep.  She held out her arms exposing her wrists.

"I love a woman who likes to get a little rough." Her tone was playful but her blue eyes flashed with heat.

Elisa licked her suddenly dry lips pulling her brown eyes away from Fox's hypnotic gaze.

"Where are you taking me?"  She asked David Xanatos. He had been eerily quiet since she'd gotten into the limo.  Sometimes she thought the man talked just to hear the sound of his own
voice.

He smirked at her discomfort.  She mentally cursed herself for not playing it cooler.  Here she was dressed like a hooker in a outfit that barely covered her ass while Fox and David looked as if they'd just stepped off the cover of Vanity Fair.

"You look a little tired we thought you could use a break from putting innocent men in jail."  David Xanatos stated.

Elisa looked incredibly at him.  "Innocent?  You call men enabling women, down on their luck, to sell their bodies for a few dollars innocent?" She asked.

She was outraged.  He rolled his eyes at her tirade. "No detective.  What I meant is how do you expect men to just pass you by when you're standing out there
looking like that."

He was looking her up and down as if that would explain everything. "Exactly what does that mean?"  Elisa asked impatiently.

His eyes lingered on her exposed garter belts.  "You look like a wet dream detective. Like a wet dream." Elisa's gaze flickered to Fox to gauge her reaction to his
statement.

The red head just looked at her, blue eyes gleaming cat like in the dim interior of the limo.

Before she could respond to him her police radio went off.  "Elisa! Elisa! Come in."  She opened her handbag doing her best to ignore Fox and David.

"Elisa here. Sorry guys I forgot to check in."  There was a static filled pause.  "Damn Elisa
you had us worried."

Her partner Matt replied.  "We're right behind you. what's the situation?" He asked.  She glared at the
couple.

"Well it seems I'm being rescued by the Xanatos's who thought I could use a break from selling ass." The sound of laughter filtered through the
radio. She heard one of the other officers ask Matt.

"Xanatos? isn't that the rich guy married to the sexy red head?"

She looked across at the couple.  David Xanatos was smiling.  Fox's expression was unreadable
as she stared at Elisa.

The sound of Matt's voice floated through the radio.

"Soooo Elisa, how much you gonna charge em?" Matt teased. Once again she heard laughter coming from the other officers.

Elisa was startled when Fox leaned forward grasping the back of Elisa's hand. The red head pulled the two radio up to her lips.

"Tell me Detective Bluestone how much do you think she's worth?" Elisa stared at the other woman in surprise. The silence on the other end of the radio promted Elisa to speak.

"For the record I am not and never will be for sale." Elisa snapped glaring at Fox.

The red head smirked at her continuing to hold Elisa's hand. "Come on Detective Maza name a price we all have one." Fox urged.

Elisa debated answering the question but something in Fox's tone wouldn't allow her to back down.

"Nothing less than a million dollars would be worth me selling my body.  And since I don't think anyone would be willing to pay that much for a piece of ass, including mine, there's not much chance of me retiring anytime soon." Elisa stated.

"I think a million dollars would be a steal, Detective.  I'd pay it over and over again if I thought for one moment I could have you." Fox said.

"But I have to be honest." The red head paused her eyes sliding over Elisa's long legs.

"I'm not certain I'd ever get tired of making love to you. You'd retire an exhausted but very rich woman."

Elisa was certain her mouth was hanging open. The tension in the car was thick as the two women continued to stare at one another.

It was David Xanatos that broke the spell. "Does that answer your question Detective Bluestone?" He asked.

Fox blinked releasing Elisa's hand. Elisa cleared her throat still at a loss for words.

"Why don't you just drop me off at the next corner. I'll get a ride with the guys."  Elisa stated her voice sounding odd even to her own ears.

She didn't miss the disappointed look that crossed Fox's face.

Before she exited the limo she
gave them back their five hundred dollars.

Chapter 4

Title: How\'s Tricks

It was after midnight when Elisa left the police station.  They'd collard ten men total in the sting.

She was dressed in her hooker clothes when she left the building.  Keyed up from her earlier encounter with the Xanatos's.

She sighed admitting to herself that it was Fox's behavior that left her unsettled.

The looks she'd given Elisa were hot enough to singe her skin.

The sound of a familiar voice got her attention.  "How's tricks, Elisa?"

She looked up to see Fox Xanatos leaning against the passenger, rear door, of the limo.  Her husband was hanging casually out the window.

Fox opened the back door gesturing inside with her hand.

"Want a ride Cinderella?  We've got plenty of room."

Elisa hesitated uncertain of Fox's motives. She and the red head weren't exactly friends.

Elisa glanced at David Xanatos her eyes narrowing. She'd never forgiven him for his part in her brother's mutation.

Although she was wary of Fox she could honestly say she disliked her husband.

"Don't think of saying no Elisa. I can't believe they let you leave a police station looking so sinful." Fox said.

"You may need more protection than David and I to make it home." Elisa couldn't suppress her smile.  The one thing Fox didn't lack was charm.

"Are you certain it's not you I need protecting from?" Elisa asked. The red head walked slowly towards her closing the distance between them.

Fox's blue eyes danced with mischief a smile gracing her full lips.

The ex-mercenary looked as if she'd been poured into the slinky dress she wore.

A creamy white thigh peeked out from the dresses high slit with each step Fox took.

"I promise there's nothing dangerous about what I'd like to do to you." Fox answered once she was standing directly in front of Elisa.

With the four inch heels she wore Elisa found herself eye level with Fox.

The police woman arched an eyebrow at Fox. "Was that answer suppose to put me at ease?" Elisa asked.

Fox glanced over her shoulder to where her husband watched them from the limo.

"Are you uncomfortable with David's presence?" Fox asked. "I could hail us a cab if you prefer."

Suddenly more serious than Elisa had ever seen her Fox continued. "I'd like to spend some time with you tonight. Just the two of us or David included if you'd like." Fox stated. The offer sent shock waves to Elisa's core.

"What game are you playing?" Elisa asked. Fox looked startled by the accusation.

"I'm not your enemy Elisa. We know more about each other than our closest friends." Fox held out an elegant hand.

"Come with me. You won't be disappointed." Fox said in a soft voice. Elisa stared at the outstretched hand. Then into Fox's eyes.

Elisa swallowed hard at the promise of passion that swirled in the unfathomable blue depths. She shook her head backing away from Fox.

"I--I have to go," she stuttered.

She turned walking swiftly away putting as much distance between her and Fox as she could.

Chapter 5

Title: Turning Point

Elisa found herself back on the street corner two nights later. This time the friendly banter between the women wasn't enough to hold her attention.

Her thoughts drifted back to Fox's proposal. She was torn between being flattered and offended by the red heads offer.

Elisa had considered going to the castle to confront Fox but decided against it.

The prospect of running into Goliath or one of the other clan members wasn't something she was prepared for right now.

Several weeks ago Goliath informed her that a special gargoyle council had been formed.

Someone, Elisa suspected Demona, had warned the other clan leaders that Goliath had taken a human mate.

To Elisa's dismay many of the leaders objected to their union. The council was going to meet in Arizona to decide if she and Goliath could remain a couple.

Goliath agreed to their demands without consulting Elisa. She was hurt and angry that he hadn't stood up to the council.

Elisa realized after her encounter with Fox that she was lonely.

For the past few months she'd thrown herself into her work cutting off all ties with the clan. It would be easier to let go now.

If Goliath wouldn't stand up for her now, before the council made a decision, he wouldn't stand up for her if they voted to end their relationship.

"Anybody seen Cherrie? It's not like her to be missing two nights in a row." Elisa snapped out of her mental fog.

"Yeah that man of her's usually has her out here at the crack of dawn." Someone added.

"I keep tellin' ya'll ho's to stay away from those crazy ass pimps." Big Mama said.

"If they ain't takin' all yah money, they bettin' yah ass." Elisa couldn't agree more with the busty woman.

"Who was she last seen with? Her boyfriend or a date?" Elisa asked. All the women fell silent.

Elisa's instincts told her they knew something. If she pressed for more information, she'd raise their suspicions.

"Wherever she is I hope she's getting paid cause nothings going on out here tonight." Elisa said looking up and down the street.

"That's right baby. Don't matter if you a housewife or a ho. If you gotta lay on your back, make sure your paper is stack." Big Mama stated. The women laughed the atmosphere lightening.

A white town car pulled up in front of them. It idled for a few minutes before the driver got out.

The chauffeur from two nights ago approached Elisa. He tipped his hat in Big Mama's direction.

The hooker blew him a kiss. "The lady in the car would like to speak with you." He said in a quiet voice. Elisa could feel the other women watching them. It would look odd if she refused to go.

The driver leaned in making sure he wasn't overheard. "She wishes to apologize for the other night." He whispered. "She is alone." He added.

Elisa nodded shouldering her purse. She walked to the passenger side door.

A pair of long legs were exposed when the driver opened the door.

The women whistled at the sexy display.

"If you need toys, there's an adult book store right around the corner." Someone yelled. Elisa could feel herself blushing.

"Salli's a pro she don't need toys. Make that uptown girl scream your name. We wanna hear it all the way down here. Salllllliiii!" Big Mama shouted.

Elisa could hear their laughter even after the car door closed. "Oh my God," Elisa muttered.

She finally looked up to see Fox grinning at her.

"They have a great deal of faith in your talents. Unfortunately that isn't what I want to talk to you about." Fox said.

Elisa held up a hand to stop Fox. She unzipped her purse pulling out her police radio.

"Matt, come in." Elisa stated. Seconds later Matt responded.

"You okay?" He asked. She smiled at the concern in his voice. "I'm fine. Why don't we call it a night. Send everybody home."

She could hear the other officers cheer in the background.

"Who are you with?" Matt asked. Elisa looked over at Fox not certain what she would call her.

"I'm with a friend she's going to drop me off." Elisa's answer seemed to please Fox.

The red head nodded in silent agreement.

"Ummmm Elisa I need to make sure your alright. Have the driver pull over and I'll come to the car." Matt instructed.

After he was satisfied she was okay he let them go.

Her partner was surprised to see who Elisa was with.

Matt stammered out an awkward goodnight before letting them go.

"Would you have a drink with me?" Fox asked the silent woman.

Elisa lifted her head from the back of the seat. The lights from the many billboards casting shadows over Fox's face.

"Yes," Elisa answered not wanting to go back to her empty apartment.

Elisa looked out the tinted windows of the car focusing on the scenary that passed by.

She heard Fox speaking to the driver through an intercom.

The brunette wasn't sure how much time went by before the car came to a smooth stop in front of the Four Seasons Hotel.

"I'm sure they have a dress code. I don't think I could make it past the front door." Elisa stated looking down at the burgundy dress she wore.

It was the same as the black one only the color was different.

Fox picked up a white mink next to her. She held it open for Elisa to slip into.

"You can put this on." Fox suggested.

Elisa unzipped her bomber revealing toned arms and slender shoulders. She could feel Fox watching her as she removed the jacket.

Elisa hadn't worn a bra because of the halter style of the dress.

The cool night air had hardened her nipples.

The swollen nubs pressed against the thin fabric of the dress "You look beautiful." Fox whispered. "I doubt anyone would turn you away from their dooorstep."

The chauffeur opened the door flooding the interior of the car with light. He helped each woman out of the backseat.

Fox placed a hand on the small of Elisa's back maneuvering her inside.

Heads turned as the two women made their way to the front desk.

Elisa looked around the hotel in awe. It was one of the oldest landmarks in the city and its reputation for extravagance was legendary.

"Send up a bottle of Krug Clos du Mesnil." Fox requested. The registration clerk keyed in the order along with Fox's credit card number.

"What year Madam?" He asked.

"I'd prefer 95. Nothing earlier than 90." Fox stated.

It only took seconds for a receipt to print out. The clerk looked between both women an unreadable expression on his face. He handed Fox a key card. "Enjoy your evening ladies." He said.

Chapter 6

Title: The Art of Seduction: Part A

The Presidential Suite at the Four Seasons was twice as large as her own apartment and much more luxurious.

A black laquer bar
ran the length of one wall a glass chandelier hung low from the ceiling.

Elisa watched as Fox worked the controls for the chandelier dimming the lights in the center of the room.

Elisa opened the coat preparing to take it off. She froze when she felt Fox come up behind her.

"Let me help you." Fox whispered in her ear. The red heads warm breath sent unexpected tingles down Elisa's spine.

Her hands caressed the length of Elisa's arms as she helped her remove the coat.

Elisa turned to thank the other woman and bumped right into her. Fox placed a hand on Elisa's hip stopping her retreat.

Cinnamon breath washed over Elisa's face when Fox spoke.

"I hope you like the champagne. I ordered it because it reminds me of you." Gentle touches up and down her hip made it hard for Elisa to follow what Fox was saying.

"It's body is light golden brown. It looks like it's been kissed by the hot sun."

Fox closed her eyes biting her lower lip. "I can't wait to taste it. It's like sipping honey from a flower it tastes so sweet." Elisa found herself mesmerized by the erotic description.

"I want to share it with you. I'm so glad you're here." Fox slid her hand from Elisa's hip up to her waist. She pulled Elisa closer pressing their bodies together.

The brunette gasped when her hard nipples collided with Fox's.

"I'm sorry about the other night I didn't mean to scare you."

Fox's soft tone only added to the intimate setting.

Elisa released a deep breath. "You didn't scare me. I was surprised but not scared." Elisa clarified. She smiled taking a step back.

"It may have looked like I was running but in these heels that would've been impossible." She said. Fox laughed.

She stared openly at the rise and fall of Elisa's breasts. The red head licked her lips as her eyes traced over the outline of Elisa's nipples.

Elisa's pussy tightend at the hungry look Fox was giving her. Fox took a step towards Elisa.

"Room Service!" The announcement was followed by a loud knock on the door. "Shit!" Fox growled.

Elisa moved on shaky legs to answer the door. Fox stepped in front of her blocking her path. "I'll take care of this. Why don't you just get comfortable." She suggested waving a hand toward the sofa and loveseat in the middle of the room.

Chapter 7

Title: The Art of Seduction Part B

Elisa walked silently across the plush carpet her four inch heels sinking into its thickness. She knew without looking that Fox was watching her retreat. She slid into the corner of a buttery soft sofa. The leather felt cool against the back of her thighs.

When she was settled Elisa glanced at the door. Fox was standing in the same spot staring intently at her.

She crossed her legs at the knee hoping to quell her rising need. For months Elisa had supressed her desires. Tonight they had returned with avengence.

Fox completed the transaction without allowing the bellhop in the room. She filled two flutes with champagne.

A cloud of foaming bubbles spilled over the top of the glasses. Elisa couldn't help but admire what Fox was wearing.

Chocolate brown suede shoes matched perfectly with the brown satin dress she was wearing.

The cocktail dress stopped a few inches above her knees. Her thick chestnut hair cascaded to the middle of her back in long waves.

Fox approached her a drink in each hand. She handed Elisa her drink sliding next to her on the sofa.

Fox tipped her glass towards her in a silent toast before taking a sip. The sight of her throat muscles working as the drink slid down captured Elisa's attention. Fox seemed unnerved by her stare. In fact the open appreciation seemed to embolden her.

Fox reached over with her free hand to snap one of her exposed garters. "Very nice. You had on a pair the other night. I had no idea you liked lingerie. Or are you just playing dress up?" Elisa smiled at the red head.

She took a sip from her drink. The fruity taste of the champagne exploded in her mouth. She lifted the half empty glass towards Fox.

"This is wonderful. But I've never heard of it." Elisa said. "Dom Perignon and Cristal are more popular in the media. Krug is more popular among collectors." Fox explained.

The finger that had been playing with Elisa's garter moved to stroke a patch of exposed skin. Fox drained her glass placing the empty flute on the floor. Her left arm was draped along the back of the couch. Fox placed her right hand on the arm of the chair trapping Elisa between her and the couch.

"Have I mentioned how beautiful you look." She laughed. "Of course I have. I can't take my eyes off of you. You look so-------delicious."

The heat in Fox's voice caused Elisa's sex to quiver.

Fox looked into Elisa's eyes. "For one night Elisa just let go. Forget about the bad guys, forget about your badge, forget Goliath. For one night let me show you how beautiful you are, how sexy you are." She placed a soft kiss on the side of Elisa's neck.

Her warm breath tickled as she whispered in her ear. "Just let go." She kissed her way down Elisa's jaw across her cheek their lips hovered in front of each other as they stared into one anothers eyes.

Fox cupped Elisa's face in her hands. "Don't be afraid of me. I wont hurt you." She said softly.

Elisa leaned forward, hesitating for only a moment, before pressing a kiss to Fox's full lips. Fox dropped her hands slipping them underneath the straps of the garter stroking the soft skin she found there.

Elisa's thighs trembled in anticipation. She deepened the kiss her tongue caressing Fox's bottom lip.

She tilted her head as she pressed her tongue into Fox's warm mouth. It slipped between full lips to trace over teeth, the inside of her cheeks finally entwining with Fox's tongue. Their soft moans were lost in each others mouth.

Elisa pulled back slightly breathless. Fox moaned her body following. "I want you so much." She pressed into Elisa a hand slipping between her legs.

They both groaned when Fox's hand made contact with Elisa's mound. She cupped Elisa's pussy squeezing it in her palm.

Fox could feel the beautiful woman grinding into her hand. She rained kisses up and down Elisa's neck gently biting into her pulse point.

Fox shifted slightly on top of her slipping a knee between Elisa's legs. Elisa groaned her hands moving to cup Fox's ass. Fox's blue eyes burned into Elisa's as she looked down at her. "I just wanna eat you up." Fox said. She cupped a round breast squeezing it in her palm.

Elisa arched into the erotic touch.

"Can I undress you?" Fox asked. "I wanna see your beautiful body." The red head slipped her hand inside the halter top. She pinched a hard nipple causing Elisa to tremble.

Elisa was undecided. Her body needed release but her mind screamed for her to stop. The indecision must have shown on her face because Fox suddenly stood up.

She watched transfixed as Fox seductively slipped the single shoulder strap, of the cocktail dress, off her shoulder. She pushed the dress down over full breasts that were tipped with plump pink nipples.

The dress slid down curvaceous hips, long creamy legs. It ended up on the floor pooled around her feet. She was left wearing blue lace panties, that hugged her mound. Elisa had never seen anything more beautiful in her life.

Her eyes traced up and down Fox's flawless body. "Oh my God." Slipped past her lips before she could stop it.

Fox stepped out of the dress moving closer to Elisa. "Can I undress you?" She asked again.

Elisa's eyes were glued to Fox's mound inches from her face. The lace didn't conceal the strip of red fur at the top of Fox's bald slit. Elisa licked her lips as the ability to speak continued to elude her. Fox reached down stroking the back of her hand over Elisa's cheek.

Fox bent at the waist pressing Elisa into the sofa. She slid her hands down the column of Elisa's neck to undo the ties holding the halter together.

Fox peeled the halter down revealing tawny brown breasts capped with dark brown nipples. She curled one hand around a breast taking the nipple into her mouth.

She growled softly around the nipple sucking it harder. Fox was on her knees on the couch Elisa underneath.

She slipped her free hand between Elisa's legs caressing the soft skin there.

Elisa spread her legs giving Fox more room to explore. Fox's hands glided over trembling thighs coming to rest on her warm pussy.

She fingered Elisa's clit, through her panties, her blood boiling as she listened to the loud moans coming from her.

"Do you like that baby? Hmmm, do you?" Her voice sounded husky, breathless. "I've wanted you so long." She stroked two fingers up and down Elisa's slit gathering up the juices she found there.

She placed her slick digits at the entrance of Elisa's pussy. Clinching muscels greeted her penetrating fingers.

"I just new you'd be tight and wet." Fox whispered staring down at her. She thrust again burying her fingers up to the knuckle. Elisa raised her hips urging Fox to fill her completely.

"Please," Elisa begged. "Fuck me." Fox moaned claiming Elisa's lips. She thrust her tongue into Elisa's open mouth at the same time she buried her fingers inside her. "Oh Fox," Elisa groaned breaking the kiss.

"That feels so good. Don't stop." Elisa's stomach muscels quivered. Her pussy contracted gripping Fox's fingers. She came shuddering as she yelled the red heads name. "Foooxxx!"

Fox removed her fingers licking them clean. She peeled the dress from Elisa's body then dropped to her knees in front of her. With shaking fingers she removed Elisa's garters and panties.

Her hands glided down the naked flesh in front of her. Caressing the twin mounds of Elisa's breasts, down her ribs and flat stomach. She cupped Elisa's round ass with both hands pulling her forward.

Fox leaned in planting soft kisses along the top of Elisa's bush.

The short coarse hairs tickled as she rubbed her nose in the center of Elisa's heat. Fox inhaled the musky scent. Her mouth watering in anticipation. "You smell so good." Fox whispered.

Elisa ran her hands through Fox's thick hair urging her closer. Elisa looked down an erotic thrill shooting through her when she found Fox watching her from between her legs.

The sight of Fox's pink tongue moving up and down her slit was too much for Elisa. She closed her eyes slumping back on the couch.

She wrapped her legs around Fox's neck her hands holding Fox's head in place as she humped her mouth.

"Yes," Elisa croaked out. Her body arched suspended in air. Fox moaned into her wet hole as she swallowed Elisa's juices.

She lowered Elisa onto the couch. Fox looked up at Elisa licking the remaining juices from her lips. "You are delicious." She said. Fox pulled Elisa up leading her to the bedroom.

Chapter 8

Title: The Morning After

The next morning Elisa was awakened by the feeling of being watched. She opened her eyes to a sun lit room the sheer white drapes gave little protection from the early morning rays.

She turned her head to find Fox Xanatos watching her a small smile on her face.

"Good morning Elisa." The husky purr of her voice reminded Elisa of their long night of love making.

Exhaustion had finally won out forcing Elisa to push Fox away from her tender lips. The woman had growled in protest kissing her way up Elisa's body.

Elisa could remember looking sleepily up at Fox tracing the blue fox head tattoo over her right eye. Fox had submitted to the the exploration kissing the tip of Elisa's finger when she was done.

Feeling contented and safe for the first time in months, Elisa curled up next to the the woman that not so long ago she'd considered an enemy, falling asleep in her arms.

Looking at her now she couldn't help but return the smile being directed at her.

Fox placed a warm hand on Elisa's waist pulling her closer. "I'm glad you're awake. I can finally eat breakfast." Fox stated. With a flick of her wrist she removed the sheet covering their bodies.

She kissed Elisa opened mouthed moaning softly when their bodies touched.

********************

"Let me come up. Just for a minute." Fox was looking up at her a naughty smile on her lips. Elisa was in the red head's lap stradling her waist.

The limousine was double parked in front of Elisa's apartment building. Fox's hands were on her hips holding her in place.

Elisa returned the smile her dark brown eyes twinkling with mischief. "No," she replied. She yelped when Fox raised her hands tickling her under her ribcage. Elisa grabbed her wrists holding them in place.

"I may work third shift but I still need to get some sleep." Elisa stated.

"And I think sleeping is the last thing on your mind. Besides you'd need longer than a minute for what you want." Elisa teased. Fox visibly shivered as she leaned forward taking Elisa's mouth in a hungry kiss.

Fox pulled her hands free using them to circle Elisa's waist pulling her impossibly closer.

The wet sound of their mouths separating echoed in the car. They stared at each other breathing hard. Fox was the first to break the silence. "Let me come up with you?" Fox asked making it clear she was no longer joking. Elisa was ready to give in.

Elisa leaned down kissing Fox hard on the lips.

The sound of a car horn blaring behind them forced her to pull her mouth away from Fox's lush lips. Fox threw her head against the car seat groaning in frustration.

"I have to go Fox." Fox leaned up trying to steal another kiss.

Elisa pulled away. "Don't you have a meeting to go to?" As if on cue Fox's cell phone rang. She looked at the caller ID and cursed before answering.

"Hello Dominique." She winced pulling the phone away from her ear.

The voice of a screeching Dominique Destine could be heard on the other end.

"I'm sorry. Yes, I was eating breakfast." She winked up at Elisa. "It's the most important meal of the day didn't you know that Dominique?"

Elisa laughed burying her face in Fox's neck to stifle the sound. "What? Would I say it was worth a million dollars?" She turned her head placing a soft kiss on Elisa's cheek.

"Absolutely," she whispered. Her warm breath touched Elisa's ear. Elisa pulled back she wanted to see Fox's face.

Smoldering blue eyes stared back at her. "As a matter of fact I think I want some more. Why don't you call Owen to reschedule the meeting."

She disconnected the call throwing her cell phone onto the opposite seat. "Come here," Fox breathed out. Raising her head for another kiss.

Elisa placed a finger between their lips.

She looked at Fox incredibly. "You just blew off a million dollars? Is your ego so large that you would do something like that? People have killed to get a hold of that kind of money." Elisa stated.

Fox frowned as she removed her hands from Elisa's body. "Dominique will reshedule. It would take months for another technology company to reproduce my work. Fox crossed her arms over her chest looking up at Elisa.

"I blew off that meeting in hopes of spending more time with you. But it looks like I made the wrong decision." Fox huffed. Elisa slid off Fox's lap pulling her dress down over her hips. She blushed as Fox watched her every move her eyes caressing between her thighs.
"I'm sorry it's just that I don't want be the cause of you loosing that kind of money." Fox looked at her running fingers through her tossled red hair. "If you had asked me for a million dollars last night, I would've had it wired to your bank account within an hour."

She leaned across her seat to take Elisa's face in her hands. "I still think you're priceless so a million would've been a steal." Something was happening between them and it scared Elisa.

"I don't want this to be a one time thing Elisa. We can make this work." She paused continuing to look at Elisa.

"I can take care of you satisfy you in ways no man ever could." Elisa trembled remembering the passion they'd shared. She broke Fox's mesmerizing stare taking a deep breath to compose herself.

She'd been so consumed with Fox that she hadn't thought about the consequences of what they'd done.

In the harsh light of day reality settled in. Fox was not only married but she had a child "How can three people have a normal relationship Fox. Should I call Owen to schedule time with you?"

Fox pulled away from her. Elisa could see disappointment on her face. Elisa softend her voice as she spoke.

"The last thing I want is to break up your marriage. She blew out a deep breath. "Last night, this morning, it was," she paused searching for the right word, "it was incredible you were incredible.
But my happily ever after ends with two people not three." She didn't know what else she could say.

She was startled when Fox grabbed her wrist gripping it painfully. "When was the last time your life was normal Elisa? You've seen things other humans have only dreamed about. Been places most wouldn't live to tell about."

Fox raged on unable to stop. "The last male you loved was a Gargoyle who wasn't even strong enough to love you back. Tell me, Detective Maza, when was the last time your life was normal?" She asked.

Elisa wrenched her arm free hurt and anger written on her face.

Fox sat in front of her breathing hard staring at her intently.

"Don't be afraid of me. I won't hurt you. Isn't that what you told me Fox?" Elisa's voice was laced with contempt as she used Fox's own words against her.

Fox closed her eyes. Elisa took that moment to exit the limo not turning around as it drove away.

Chapter 9

Title: Retirement Contribution

Elisa was shaking hands with the young ADA, Adam Braxton, outside the courtroom. He had been assigned to work her Vice cases.

A few of the men arrested, in the sting, were claiming entrapment. Elisa had been asked to testify. When the men saw her in court the decided to accept plea deals.

Elisa gently pulled her hand out of the ADA's grasp.

"I was wondering Detective Maza if you were seeing anyone?" She could hear the nervousness in his voice. She smiled attempting to let him down easy.

"I'm in between relationships right now." Images of Goliath and Fox flashed through her mind. It had been three weeks since she'd last seen Fox and even longer for Goliath.

She'd had little time to reflect on her brief affair with Fox. Elisa and Matt had been taken off Vice. They were now working with the Special Victims Unit also known as SVU.

Two more Jane Doe's had been identified as prostitutes and other's were now being reported missing.

NYPD had finally admitted there was a serial killer on the loose. All available officers had been assigned to the task force.

With all that was going on in her life there was no room for any romantic entanglements.

She was stopped from commenting when they were interrupted. "Detective Elisa Maza?" Elisa turned to find a bike messenger behind her.

His bright yellow helmet was tucked under an arm. "Yes, I'm Elisa Maza." She watched as he pulled a clip board and letter size envelope from his back pack.

"I have a special delivery for you Detective. Could you sign here please." He handed her the clip board. He looked a little uncertain as he asked her. "Can I see some ID detective?"

She rolled her eyes but flipped out her ID making sure her gold shield was visible.

He smiled sheepishly at her as he handed over the envelope. "Thanks ma'am, have a good day." The messenger disappeared just as quickly as he'd appeared.

Elisa unsealed the envelope and pulled out it's contents.

Her eyes widened as she looked at what was inside.

She counted then recounted the zeros just to be sure. Her brain finally registered the cheque in her hands was for one million dollars.

In the signature field was the name Fox Xanatos written in flowing script.

There was a note attached. 'My contribution to your retirement fund.' Elisa felt as if she'd been slapped.

Apparently their night together had meant nothing to the red head. To her it was just another business deal.

She heard her name being called but it sounded far away. "Detective Maza!" She jerked herself back to the present to see Adam looking at her concerned. "Are you ok Detective? You went a little pale."

The tips of her fingers were going numb from gripping the cheque.

Adam tried to see what she was looking at but she stuffed it back into the envelope.

"I'm sorry but I have to go." She started moving before he had a chance to respond.

She couldn't believe the nerve of that arrogant, rich bitch! The rapid click of her high heels on the marble floor echoed across the courthouse. She pulled out her cell phone dialing the number to the Eyrie building.

When Owen, the Xanatos's majordomo, answered she quickly cut him off.

"Put Fox on the phone. NOW!" Elisa demanded. Owen paused at the sound of her harsh tone. "Detective Maza?" He asked. She ground out through clinched teeth. "Yes." There was another pause on his end. "Mrs Xanatos is in a business meeting Detective."

It was her turn to pause as she waited for him to continue. When he didn't she asked. "Where is she Owen?

He cleared his throat. "She's at Nightstone Unl.." Elisa disconnected the call before he could finish.

She considered turning on the sirens of her unmarked police car, to clear traffic, but decided against it.

She gripped the steering wheel tight in her hands as she sped towards NightStone Unlimited.

Chapter 10

Title: Confessions

Elisa walked past Dominique, Destine's personal assistant, into her office. The office was empty but voices coming from an adjacent room drew her attention.

With Dominique's Assistant on her heels Elisa stalked towards the room. "You can't go in there. Stop!" The assistant yelled. Elisa ignored the woman intent only on finding Fox.

Just as her hand reached the knob her arm was grabbed. She turned to see the assistant holding onto her bicep as if her life depended on it. The older woman was breathing hard trying to catch her breath. "I said you can't go in there." She gasped out. Elisa snatched her arm away pulling her badge out.

"This is police business. Does Ms. Destine pay you enough to go to jail?" She asked. The woman looked closely at her badge, when satisfied it was the real thing she backed away. Elisa opened the door.

There were at least twelve men and women dressed in expensive looking suits sitting around an oval table. Some were looking towards the door having heard her confrontation.

Dominique was on her feet before Elisa crossed the threshhold. "Detective Maza it's good to see you." She gushed. "How can I help you?" She asked.

The petite red head sounded pleasant but her green eyes were flashing murder as she closed the distance between them. Elisa's attention was on the other red head in the room.

Fox had whirled around in her chair at the mention of Elisa's name. There was a dark blue pinstripe jacket draped over the back of her chair. She was wearing a royal blue silk shirt with a high collar. Elisa could see her long legs under the table, a short dark blue, pinstripe skirt, covered her thighs. The dark blue heels on her feet tapped the floor slowly.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Dominique asked once she was close enough. "You'd better have a good reason for interupting this meeting." She snapped keeping her voice low. Elisa was forced to pull her eyes away from Fox back to Dominique. Elisa's eyes hardened as she looked at the Gargoyle in human form.

"I'm not here to arrest you.....this time." Elisa warned. She walked around Dominique her eyes locked on Fox. "Who do you think you are?" She ground out. "You arrogant, spoiled, rich bitch!" She flung the check in Fox's face.

"You can't buy me because I'm not for sale." She said. To her aggravation Fox looked up at her and smirked leaning back in her chair. "Why would I attempt to buy something that you willingly gave me?" Fox taunted. "Don't look at it as a payment, consider it a thank you."

Elisa's hand was moving before she registered it. The only thing on her mind was to wipe the smirk off the red head's face. Her palm connected with a loud, 'SMACK', but not to it's intended target. Fox held Elisa's hand prisoner in a tight grip. The other woman had captured her hand before Elisa registered she'd moved.

Fox was out of her seat so fast Elisa couldn't remember actually seeing her move. Her blue eyes burned with anger. She grabbed Elisa's arm pinning it behind her back applying enough pressure to make it uncomfortable without causing pain. Fox growled into Elisa's ear. "That one I'll let go. The next one I won't."

She marched Elisa away from the table ignoring the gasps and shocked looks. "Go on without me I have some unfinished business with Detective Maza." She told Dominique as they passed her. Elisa could see intense curiosity in Dominique's eyes as she watched them walk out.

Not releasing her hold Fox walked them through Dominique's office, past her Personal Assistant. When she came to an empty room, she pushed Elisa inside. She slammed the door with enough force that the room vibrated.

Elisa rubbed her wrist where Fox had held her. She turned around to continue her rant but she found herself face to face with an angry Fox Xantos. "Don't you ever try to strike me again. If you were a man, you'd be dead right now!" Fox snapped before Elisa could speak. "Do you understand me?" Fox took a deep breath exhaling it noisily turning her back on Elisa.

Elisa knew she was wrong she refused to admit it. "You're lucky I don't arrest you for solicitation, after the stunt you pulled," Elisa yelled. Fox whirled around on her heels.

She walked slowly towards Elisa."I said, do you understand me?" Fox held up her ring finger. The large square stone on the wedding ring sparkled when the light from the window hit it.

"Don't let the bling fool you Elisa, underneath it all I'm still a killer." Fox stated. Elisa stared in shock at the admission. The ex-mercenarys past was shrouded in secrecy. Her life after graduating college was sketchy. She'd spent six years jet setting
from one continent to the next.

On paper it appeared she was just another young socialite living off her father's money. Fox's travels included many trips to the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Places not thought of as stomping grounds for the rich and famous.

Elisa had investigated Fox shortly after she'd started dating David Xanatos's. At the time Elisa assumed Fox had spent the six years after college traveling the world aimlessly. She wasn't so certain of that now.

Elisa pulled her eyes away from Fox's taking a deep breath. "Okay Fox," Elisa held up a hand. "I'm sorry I hit you."

Elisa sat down on the edge of the conference room table. "I should be so angry with you right now." Fox said. "Do you think this is about money?" She held up the cashier's cheque.

Elisa leaned away from Fox when the red head walked up to her blocking her path. "This doesn't mean anything to me." She threw the check on the table next to Elisa.

"I know I said it would be just one night no strings attached. But can you honestly say you didn't feel anything?" Fox asked.

"If this isn't about money, why did you send it, to humiliate me?" Fox balled her fists up in frustration. "You didn't return my call. I waited for you to contact me but you ignored me like what happened between us was something to be ashamed of." Fox said.

Elisa looked away feeling guilty. Remembering listening to Fox's message but not returning the call. "Is that how I made you feel that night? I wanted you to feel special, beautiful." Fox paused. "Because that's what
you are."

The way Fox was looking at her made Elisa's stomach flutter. It seemed as if it had been forever since anyone had looked at her with such tenderness.

"I should've called you back. I just don't know what to do." Elisa admitted. "I'm going to the castle tonight to talk with Goliath." Fox interupted before she could continue.

"So you intend to take him back?" Fox shook her head. "You'll never be first in Goliath's life. His clan will always be more important." Fox warned.

"What about you?" Elisa asked. "You've got David, Alexander. Where would I fit in your life?" Elisa countered. Fox lowered her eyes glancing away. Elisa placed her hands on the red heads shoulders trying to push her back.

She sighed when Fox refused to move. "So you'd rather I play second to your husband rather than the clan." Elisa stated. "Neither of those scenarios is an option for me." Elisa said.

Fox pushed her body into Elisa's keeping her pinned on the table. "Don't you want to be with me?" Fox asked. "I can figure out a way for us to be together. You just have to give me some time."

Fox reached out stroking the back of her hand down Elisa's cheek. "I want to tell you something that I've never told anyone else." Fox whispered. "Don't interupt just listen." Fox requested. Elisa nodded.

"You've been a pain in my ass for as long as I've known you." Fox said. "You've arrested me. Sabotaged my attempted take over of Cyberbiotics. Destroyed Gen-U-Tech, a multi-million dollar lab."

She cocked her head staring down at the brunette. "Yet I could never bring myself to hate you. And when I ask myself why the only answer I could come up with is that a part of me can't hate you." She said.

"When I was turned into the werefox, by the Eye of Odin, you fought me." Elisa's eyes widened in surprise.

Fox smiled at her. "Yes, I remember. It was easier to tell everyone that I couldn't remember than to tell the truth." Fox confessed.

"I was an eight foot tall monster and out of my mind with rage. You could've used deadly force to stop me, but you didn't." Elisa returned Fox's look. "I didn't want to hurt you." Elisa said quietly. "I remember fighting you." Fox continued. "I remember every move every sound you made."

Fox closed her eyes taking a deep breath. "And I remember the way you smell. Even after the Eye was taken from me I couldn't forget. The animal that's locked away inside of me wont let me forget." Fox opened her eyes blackness spread like ink across her pupils as they dilated.

"You smell like a flower and taste like honey." She husked. "I can't forget." Elisa felt like a trapped bird under Fox's star.

Fox leaned down capturing Elisa's lips in a hungry kiss. She ran her fingers through Elisa's silky black hair. Her hands glided over the sides of Elisa's full breasts down to her waist. With a loud groan she pulled Elisa closer, deepening the kiss.

Elisa opened her mouth wider. Fox's tongue caressed the back of her throat. Needing to breath she pulled away from the passionate red head. Fox's mouth landed on the side of her throat.

The soft kisses she placed there hot enough to melt butter. Weeks of pent-up desire unraveled on the conference room
table. Elisa's hands roamed over the back of Fox's silk shirt down to her waist.

She leaned back on the table pulling Fox down with her. Elisa's thighs spread willingly when Fox pressed closer, rubbing her body sensuously into Elisa. The sound of their harsh breathing filled the room.

The wrap dress Elisa had worn to court parted easily when Fox reached underneath it. Long, slim fingers caressed
over silky thighs. She sighed at the feel of Fox's fingers pressing against the front of her panties.

Fox slipped two fingers under the waist band trailing them up and down Elisa's crease. She paused at the top of Elisa's pussy stroking her clit. "You're so beautiful." Fox exclaimed breathlessly. She bent down licking a wet trail along Elisa's neck "so beautiful," she repeated.

Before Elisa could respond Fox thrust two long fingers inside her. Elisa's neck muscles strained as she suppressed a groan of pleasure.

Fox's hand trembled at the feel of Elisa's walls contracting around her fingers.

"You're still so tight. Has there been anyone since me?" Fox asked. The ring of possession was unmistakable in Fox's voice.

A loud banging on the conference room door caused them both to freeze. "Elisa? Fox? What the hell is going on?" Dominique's brusk voice called out.

The door knob rattled as Dominique tried to gain entrance. "A locked door can't keep the CEO of Nightstone Unlimited from coming in." Dominique warned.

Chapter 11

Title: Threatening An Immortale

The sound of keys rattling unfroze them. Fox stood straightening her clothes. Elisa slid off the table adjusting her panties.

Fox walked to the door. She stood in the opening blocking Dominique's entrance. She knew with Dominique's heightened Gargoyle senses she'd be able to smell their arousal.

"I thought I instructed you to go on without me." She told the smaller red head.

Fox could see the subtle flare of Dominique's nostrils. Her green eyes glanced over Fox's shoulder.

"Does Goliath know you're fucking his whore?" Dominique asked. Fox bristled. "I'm sorry." Domininque continued raising her voice.

The CEO looked Fox up and down. "Are you picking up Goliath's discarded trash?" She arched an eyebrow at Fox. "Does your husband know?" Fox stepped into the hall closing the door.

Her blue eyes flashed with anger as she took a step towards the gargoyle.

Dominique held her ground. "Careful Fox," she warned. "You may have been trained to be a killer but I was born one." Fox's eyes widened in shock, Dominique smiled pleased at her reaction.

"There are cameras all over this building. Nothing happens at Nightstone without my knowledge."

Fox stared daggers at the other red head. "I want the tape before I leave this building. I'm telling you one time only Dominique, stay out of this, it's none of your business."

Dominique balled her fists up. "You should have told Elisa that before she showed up at my company causing a scene. She should've taken your lover's quarrel someplace else." Dominique spat out contemptuously.

Fox narrowed her gaze. "Interfere in any way and I'll have mother send the sister's to pay you a late night visit. When their done with you this time, you'll pray for death." Dominique flinched real fear showing in her eyes.

"Elisa was right about one thing." Dominique said. "You are a spoiled, arrogant, bitch!" Fox raised a rusett eyebrow at the outburst.

"That's rich bitch, Dominique. Spoiled, arrogant, rich bitch." Fox corrected smiling sweetly. "Now get me that tape." She commanded.

Dominique waved a dismissive hand. "There is no tape, I was watching from the security monitors in my office." She cursed when she felt her human form blushing under Fox's intense stare.

Finally Fox nodded accepting her word.

Dominique couldn't resist one last dig. "If the council agrees to Goliath and Elisa's union, who do you think Elisa will choose to be with? You or him?" Dominique asked.

"She may be willing to let you scratch her itch but she'll never choose you over Goliath." Dominique shrugged nonchalantly. "You always have your husband to go back to." She turned to leave.

"She may choose Goliath over me but it kills you that Goliath chose her over you." Fox stated.

Dominique's steps faltered. "Even if they can't be together Goliath will never EVER choose you!" Fox called out.

Elisa was shakily trying to pull herself together while the two business women talked. The soft click of the conference room door closing startled her. Fox was leaning against the door watching her.

"We need to talk Elisa." Fox said. "When can I see you again?" Fox asked. Elisa blinked trying to clear her fuzzy brain.

"I'll be at the castle around 7PM. Once I'm done talking with Goliath, maybe we can talk?" Elisa asked.

Fox nodded watching Elisa. The two women stared at each other uncertain what was going on between them. "I'll see you later." Fox said. She looked reluctant to leave.

Elisa turned away to pick up her purse. The forgotten cheque was still on the table. She retrieved it and turned with her arms outstretched to give back to Fox.

Elisa sighed in frustration. The door to the conference room was open and Fox was gone.

Chapter 12

Title: David\'s Offer

Elisa arrived at the castle a little before 7pm to talk with Goliath. She wasn't sure what she would say or what she hoped to hear.

But listening to Demona refer to her as 'discarded trash' was a blow to her pride. It was time for her to move on with her life.

She'd no longer wait for others to decide her fate.

When Elisa walked out on the balcony, she was surprised to find Angela instead of Goliath.

She looked around just to be sure but there was no sign of the large gargoyle.

"Hi Angela," she greeted his daughter. Angela smiled sliding down from the ledge to meet her halfway.

"Hey Elisa," Angela responded as she closed the distance between them. "I'm looking for Goliath. Do you know where he is?" Elisa asked.

The young gargoyle hesitated a moment folding her wings behind her. "Father told me to tell you he would speak with you another time," she finally said. Angela looked uncertain before she spoke.

"I just want you to know I don't agree with the elders." She told Elisa quietly, gazing at her with large dark eyes.

"No one should be forced to choose a mate based on what's on the outside. It's what’s on the inside that’s important." Elisa knew Angela was speaking from experience, her decision to pick Broadway over Brooklyn as a mate had surprised even Goliath.

The red gargoyle, Brooklyn, was the clans second in command and a fierce warrior. Broadway was the complete opposite. He looked more comfortable with an oreo cookie in his hand than a sword, but he was sweet, loyal and his love for Angela was undeniable.

Elisa was certain he'd give his life to protect Angela. She laid a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Thank you," she said quietly. She didn't want to give Angela false hope so she chose her words carefully.

"I'll always be your friend, Angela, no matter what happens between Goliath and I." Angela nodded in understanding. "Do you know where Goliath went?" She asked changing the subject.

Angela looked perplexed. "No. He got a call shortly after getting your message." She shrugged her shoulders. "Before father left he instructed me to stay until you arrived." she answered.

Elisa started to worry. Goliath wasn't the one for dramatics so the phone call had to be important.

"Who told him he had a call?" Elisa asked. "It was Mr. Burnett," Angela informed her. Elisa nodded her head, biting her bottom lip. She'd passed Owen as he was getting on the elevator to go down. She was sure he was no longer in the building.

"Okay, Angela. Thanks. Tell the guys I said hi," she stated. They shared a quick hug. Then she watched the gargoyle climb back on the ledge and spread her wings, catching the air current.

Elisa watched her glide away until she disappeared into the horizon.

Elisa turned to go in search of Fox but was startled when she bumped into David Xanatos.

He snaked an arm around her waist to steady her. "Owen forgot to tell you that Goliath was called away," he informed her.

She stiffened when he pressed their bodies together. "Or are you here to see my wife?" He questioned in a deep voice. Elisa's palms were pressed against his chest. She tried pulling away but found herself held in place.

"I allowed Fox to have her fun with you but I have no intentions of standing on the sidelines while the two of you fuck like rabbits behind my back," he said calmly, his dark eyes glittered with jealousy.

"Did you not think Dominique would tell me about your little visit today?" He asked. "The two of you on her conference room table going at it like animals. What would your Captain think of that?" He paused, letting the threat hang in the air.

"Better yet what would Goliath think of his precious Elisa making love to my wife behind his back." Elisa grabbed the arm around her waist and pressed her thumb painfully into his pulse point.

He quickly released his hold. She backed away from him, putting some distance between them.

"I don't care what Dominique told you she can't prove a thing," she said confidently.

Her stomach turned over when he smirked at her. "Oh detective, you of all people should know how paranoid she is. Nothing transpires at Nightstone without her knowledge," he stated as he stood directly in front of her, blocking her exit. 'Fuck!' She thought to herself.

She didn't move when he took a step towards her. "Dominique's aching to send the tape to your Captain but apparently Fox threatened her to protect you." He looked amused.

"Titania knows better than to ever lay a hand on me if she expects to continue seeing Alexander. So Fox's threats against Dominique don't concern me," he told her matter-of-factly.

"Here's my proposition detective; you keep the money, do whatever you want with it. Just remember you now work for me. If you refuse, I'll send Dominique's tape to the tabloids." David Xanatos threatened.

She glared at him in outrage. "If you expose me, you'll be outing Fox too." Elisa said.

"Tabloids love gossip. Fox sleeping with you will only add to her celebrity but it would destroy your career." He continued before she could respond.

"Fox understands me more than anyone in this world she'd never take this personal. She's my equal in every way and no one will ever come between us."

The smile he directed at her sent chills down Elisa's spine. "You've only tasted the icing on the cake Detective. Fox has layers you could never comprehend."

His onyx eyes swirled with lust. "Did Fox finger fuck you or did she use a toy? I bet you're as tight as a virgin. How long has it been since you've been with someone?"

He grinned at her. "Human or gargoyle. How long has it been?" He asked.

Elisa ignored his question. She opened her handbag and pulled out the cashier's cheque.

She slowly unfolded it, holding it inches from his face, and ripped it down the centre letting the pieces fall to the ground.

In a tight, controlled voice she said.

"Like I told your wife, I'm not for sale." She ground out through clenched teeth, and I don't respond well to threats. So do whatever you want with Dominique's surveillance tape."

She took a deep breath staring him in the eyes. "I'd rather walk up and down Broadway from sun up to sundown selling ass for twenty dollars than to EVER let you touch me."

She walked around him to leave suddenly stopping. She turned facing him.

"And if you wanna know how tight I am," she paused for effect, "as your wife." She left him standing there staring daggers at her back.

Chapter 13

Title: Beauty Sleep

The next morning she was wakened by the sound of her telephone ringing. She glanced at her bedside clock; '10:11AM', it read.

She groaned in frustration, realizing she'd only been in bed three hours since getting home from work. "Wello," she mumbled into the phone.

The sound of laughter floated across the connection. "Good morning sleepy head," Fox's cheerful voice greeted.

Elisa felt a stab of guilt remembering she'd stormed out of the castle without speaking to Fox. "Hey." Elisa finally responded.

There was an awkward moment as neither of them said anything. "I'm sorry about last night," Elisa uttered before she could chicken out.

She heard Fox sigh. "Me too. I was looking forward to seeing you." Fox stated.

Elisa flopped back onto her bed and covered her face briefly with a pillow. "Something happened last night Fox."

Elisa stated not sure what or if Fox knew anything about the previous evening. "I know," Fox confessed. "David showed me the cheque."

Elisa waited for her to continue. "He said the two of you had a misunderstanding about what happened at Nightstone." Elisa rolled her eyes. "It was a little more than that," Elisa responded.

"He threatened to expose us if I didn't agree to his demands." Elisa paused uncertain if she should continue. "He also eluded to a possible three-way." A loud growl on the other end of the phone startled her.

"I told David weeks ago you weren't interested in a menage a trois'." Fox exclaimed. "I would never ask you to do something you didn't want to do. And to be honest I don't want to share you with David. Or anyone else." Fox added in a soft voice.

The silence that hung between them was thick with meaning. Elisa wanted to point out Fox was in no position to expect fidelity from her when she was still with her husband.

"Did you know Dominique taped us in the conference room?" She asked, suddenly remembering their other problem. "I had my suspicions," Fox said. Elisa sat up in bed, pulling her hair in frustration.

"Why would you leave the building without the surveillance tape? You know how she feels about me," Elisa stated. "I'll take care of Dominique and David; don't worry about them, "Fox calmly assured her.

Elisa bit her bottom lip. "You need to make sure the tape doesn't end up in the wrong hands." Elisa said. "Lex broke into Nightstone's computer systems and erased the security tape from yesterday." Fox advised her.

Elisa breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you," She said sincerely.

"You can show your appreciation by having dinner with me tonight," Fox said.

Elisa shook her head at the persistant red head.

"What about your husband?" Elisa asked, not wanting to cause more problems. "He's not invited," Fox said causing Elisa to chuckle.

"Besides, my mother is going to be there. We try to have dinner once a month. David never comes with us." She paused briefly. "They don't get along so they avoid each other like the plague." Elisa hesitated.

"If you'd like, just stop by my apartment after you've eaten. So that we can talk." She amended.

"I've already told mother you might be joining us," Fox said.

"But I accept the invitation to your apartment---to talk later," she said.

Elisa laid flat on her bed staring at the ceiling. She could hear the inuendo in Fox's voice but chose to ignore it for now.

"You need to let me get back to my beauty sleep so I can look my best for tonight." Fox's husky laugh caused her stomach to flutter.

"If you get any more beautiful, I won't be able to keep my hands off you," Fox whispered into the phone.

Elisa knew she was in trouble when her heart started to beat a little faster.

Chapter 14

Title: A Mother Like No Other

"Do you want children Elisa?" Titania in her human guise, Anastasia Renard, asked. Elisa fidgeted in her seat a little unnerved by the fay queen's intense stare.

In her human form Titania was still intimidating. As Anastasia Renard she had shoulder length red hair, creamy white skin, and piercing green eyes.

Elisa had only seen Titania in her true form twice. Both times Elisa found herself transfixed by her green colored skin and pointed elf like ears.

Elisa looked at Fox who was watching the interaction with an amused look on her face.

"Yes, I'd like to have two, maybe three children, someday," she answered. She didn't miss the pleased look that crossed Titania's face. Fox looked surprised by the answer.

Elisa raised an eyebrow at Fox. "I didn't realize you wanted children," Fox said. "You seem so focused on your career," She continued.

She looked thoughtfuly at Elisa. "But I think you'll make a wonderful mother," She said. Elisa blushed, glancing quickly at Titania.

The fay was looking back and forth between Fox and her a strange smile on her face. "You come from a----diverse background. Don't you Elisa?" Titania asked.

Elisa was surprised by the question. "Yes, I do. My mother is African American and my father is Native American," Elisa answered.

Titania nodded as if she already knew the answer but wanted to hear her say it.

"Do you think it will be important that your children understand their heritage?" She asked.

Elisa wondered if the question was meant for her or Fox.

She knew the older woman wanted to see more of Alexander but David Xanatos was opposed to it.

"Mother?" Fox cautioned, staring disapprovingly at Titania. "It's okay Fox," Elisa said. She turned her attention back to Titania.

"I think it benefits children to understand their ancestors' history. So yes I do think it's important they learn about their heritage." Elisa said. "Thank you," Titania said. Elisa wasn't sure what she was being thanked for but she said, "you're welcome."

Titania continued to regard her. "I agree with Fox you will make a good mother someday."

Elisa rose to her feet suddenly feeling uneasy. "Excuse me but I need to go to the ladies room." She said.

She placed her hands against a sink leaning on it. She raised her head when the restroom door opened. Fox walked into the room the knee length blue knit dress she wore brought out her eyes.

She leaned back against the sink next to Elisa. "I'm sorry," Fox said. "She had no right to include you in her fight with David and I."

She grinned at Elisa. "But it seems she's enjoying your company as much as I am," she said. Elisa slapped her on the arm. "Stop that," she chastised.

"What?" Fox asked innocently. "I am her daughter; it's possible she likes exotic, beautiful women too," Fox growled at her playfully. "But she can't have mine. I don't share."

Suddenly she didn't sound so playful anymore.

Elisa again felt uneasy she turned away from Fox to gather her thoughts glancing in a mirror. Fox continued to watch her in silence. "You shouldn't have left Titania alone," Elisa told her.

She distracted herself by fixing her hair and checking her makeup.

Suddenly the image of Fox was reflected in the glass as the red head wrapped her arms around Elisa's slender waist.

"I've wanted to touch you all night." Fox whispered close to her ear, pressing into Elisa's back. "We can leave now if you'd like go to your place." Fox said in a heated voice.

Elisa turned around in the red heads arms looking up at her.

"We are going to my apartment to talk." Elisa said. "There will be no sex." She added firmly. She gasped when slim fingers caressed over her round ass. Fox leaned in placing a soft kiss on surprised lips.

"Of course no more sex." Fox agreed. Fox withdrew her body from Elisa's. She reached down clasping their hands together. "Come on, She urged pulling Elisa along, "mother is probably missing you by now." Fox teased.

Chapter 15

Title: No More Sex

Elisa's hand shook as she tried for the second time to unlock her front door.

Fox's agreement of no sex had done little to ease the tension between them. All through dinner the red head had stared at her making it obvious that what she wanted to eat wasn't on the menu.

Their waiter spent most of the evening flustered staring between Elisa and Fox.

He'd blushed bright red when he asked Fox what she wanted for dessert. Fortunately Titania could see the mischeveous twinkle in her daughter's eyes and asked for the check. The touch of a warm hand on the back of the silk dress she wore startled Elisa.

She turned to see Fox watching her. "Is everything okay?" Fox asked. "Yes, uhmm new locks" Elisa fabricated, "I'm still getting use to them." She said.

The hand on her back slid down to her waist. Fox stepped closer glancing over Elisa's shoulder. Her hot breath washed over Elisa's neck. Elisa turned away from Fox. She bit her bottom lip to stifle a groan.

"In your line of work a deadbolt isn't the best protection you could have." Fox said. "I could pick that lock in less than sixty-seconds."

Elisa sighed in relief when the door poped open. She stepped aside letting Fox enter first. "You're not exactly an amateur but I'll keep that in mind." She said to the smirking red head.

Her two bedroom apartment was much more modest than the castle that Fox called home. But Elisa wasn't embarassed or ashamed.

She walked in behind Fox her hand freezing on the light switch realizing she could already see. Dozens of candles flickered softly illuminating the living room. The sweet aroma of flowers diminished the smell of burning candles.

Rose pettles were scattered across the hardwood floor. The detective had never seen anything more romantic in her life. The burning flames were reflected in her dark eyes as she looked on with awe.

She wasn't just touched by what she was seeing it was the fact that someone had gone to so much trouble to do something for her that moved Elisa. She suspected that someone was standing in the middle of her living room watching her reaction.

"I told you no more sex." Fox said. "From now on we only make love." The red head held out her hand. "Come here." Fox whispered. It was as if she were under a spell. In a few steps she was standing inches from Fox. She reached out entwining their fingers together.

Fox pulled Elisa to her closing the remaining distance between them. Fox's warm breath caressed Elisa's face. "No more sex," Fox whispered. Their mouths touched causing butterflies to erupt in Elisa's stomach.

Her hands slid around Fox's trim waist their lips clinging together. Elisa's tongue traced the red heads bottom lip enjoying the soft moan that elicited from Fox. She could feel the vibration between her legs.

Fox opened her mouth greeting Elisa's tongue with her own. Their tongues dueled back and forth tasting each other. Elisa broke the kiss her lips trailing down Fox's jaw. Fox arched into her rubbing her body against Elisa's.

"What are we doing?" Elisa husked out. Leaving a trail of hot kisses along the column of Fox's neck.

Fox ran her fingers through the dark silk of Elisa's hair. "I'll explain it to you later," was Fox's breathless reply. Fox grabbed a handful of Elisa's hair pulling her head up.

She pressed their lips together in a hungry kiss. Elisa felt her feet leave the floor. Fox craddled her in her arms as the kiss continued and she walked them into Elisa's bedroom.

Chapter 16

Title: Okay, Some Sex

Fox put Elisa down finally breaking the kiss. Elisa looked around her bedroom to see candles surrounding the bed.

The bed was turned down and rose petals were scattered across the sheet.

Elisa reached behind Fox unzipping her dress. She pulled the dress up off the red heads beautiful body.

They stood facing each other as Elisa stripped her. She groaned softly as she gazed at the red matching bra and panties that hid what she so badly wanted to see.

Elisa let the dress slide from her hands stepping up to Fox tangling fingers in her chestnut hair. They both sighed when their lips met kissing slowly knowing there would be no interuptions this time.

Elisa fumbled with the front clasp of Fox's bra releasing full creamy breasts that spilled out of the cups.

She pulled her mouth away from Fox's looking down at her exposed breasts. "Oh God," she whispered glancing into Fox's face.

"How can you be so beautiful?" She asked. She ran her thumbs over swollen pink nipples leaning down taking one into her mouth. Fox grabbed a handful of her hair holding her in place while she arched into her mouth offering more.

Elisa opened her mouth wider taking in the surrounding flesh sucking harder.

She released the breast peppering kisses around the other one before taking the nipple into her mouth sucking hungrily. Her hands slid down Fox's backside pushing her panties down exposing creamy ass cheeks. She dropped to her knees behind Fox removing her panties.

Fox leaned forward placing her hands on the bed offering herself to Elisa. She buried her face between round cheeks licking lightly. "Yessss," Fox hissed. Elisa licked from bottom to top then down continuing lower to kiss between Fox's spread legs.

They both moaned when Elisa's tongue flicked teasingly over the surface of Fox's bald vulva. Elisa stood up turning Fox around. She pushed Fox back onto the bed and dropped to her knees in front of her kissing up and down each of Fox's long legs.

She leaned forward placing a soft kiss on Fox's swollen pussy. Fox gripped her hair pulling her face closer. Elisa licked her bald mound tasting the juices clinging to her lips before dipping inside gathering up the juices she found there.

She licked Fox from clit to hole moaning into her wet mound as she feasted on her. "Oh baby." Fox whispered spreading her legs wider lifting them into the air. "That feels so good." She said hips moving faster. Elisa was certain she had never tasted anything sweeter than Fox.

It was like eating an exotic fruit. She slid her tongue inside Fox drinking from the source of her well. "I'm gonna----I'm gonna cum." Fox warned.

Elisa moaned in protest when Fox tried lifting her head out of the way. She resisted covering Fox's contracting hole with her mouth.

"Elisa." Fox croaked out trying to speak but unable to. Her back arched when her orgasm hit her.

The red head screamed, the high pitched keening noise sounded inhuman. She sqirted warm fluid into Elisa's mouth. Elisa gulped down as much as she could allowing the rest to drip down her chin.

She used the sheet to wipe the excess juices off. Fox slumped bonelessly down on the bed once her orgasm ended.

Elisa stared up at Fox amazed by what had just happened.

Chapter 17

Title: More Sex

Elisa swam into consciousness slowly not sure what had woke her up. She gasped when she felt a bolt of pleasure race through her. She looked down her body to see a large lump under the sheet covering her body.

She threw it back revealing Fox naked laying between her legs face buried between them. She laid flat on her back humping Fox's mouth. She heard Fox moan in approval the sensation reverberating all the way to her clit. "Fox?" She said breathlessly.

"What are you doing?" She asked. "Awwwhhh yess." She moaned when she felt Fox's wet tongue slip inside her thrusting hard.

Elisa moved her hips up and down meeting each of Fox's thrusts. She pulled out crawling up Elisa's naked body.

They kissed deeply Elisa sucking on Fox's tongue tasting herself. "I needed a snack and you looked so good I couldn't pass you up." Fox croaked out kissing her way back down

Elisa's body licking up and down her slit biting her hard clit.

Elisa wrapped her legs around Fox's head holding her prisoner.

Warm hands caressed her thighs before moving down cupping Elisa's ass pulling her closer. Fox took her clit into her mouth sucking it. Elisa felt her back arch as her orgasm hit her.

Fox licked up the juices that spilled from her hole tongue dipping between her ass cheeks to lick the juices she could find there.

Fox lowered her gently down to the bed softly kissing Elisa's hairy mound wanting more but knowing Elisa needed sleep.

She groaned in protest when Elisa unwrapped her legs. She raised her head meeting Elisa's dark eyes. Elisa could see arousal burning in Fox's blue eyes.

The red head raised herself up on her hands and knees so that she was crouching. She looked like a large cat ready to pounce on her meal.

Fox licked her swollen lips clean looking at Elisa silently asking for more.

Her voice was raspy when she spoke. "You taste so good." She said. "I'm sorry I woke you." A warm hand caressed over Elisa's indented pelvic bone and flat stomach. "I tried to be good." Elisa squirmed when the hand tickled her ribs.

"But you make it so hard." The hand cupped the underside of a breast thumb stroking a dark nipple. "I get wet just looking at you." She confessed quietly.

Elisa pressed the back of her head into her pillow arching into Fox's touch. "Do I excite you Elisa?" She asked pulling on a dark nipple. "Make you wet."

Elisa groaned helplessly spreading her legs in invitation. "See for yourself." She whispered reaching down to spread plumb pussy lips exposing herself to Fox.

Fox leaned down devouring her spread pussy with her eyes. Using just the tip of her tongue Fox licked the wetness that clung to Elisa's pink flesh.

She circled her clit then licked it like an ice cream cone savoring the musky taste. Elisa felt like she was slowly being eaten. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head when she exploded in another orgasm.

Fox mounted Elisa holding her legs apart pressing her aching mound into Elisa's wet center.

Fox howled in pleasure when her hard, rubbery clit made contact with Elisa's nub. She undulated her hips needing to cum.

Their cries and moans of pleasure filled the bedroom as each of them climaxed. The red head collapsed on top of Elisa covered in sweet her warm breath tickling Elisa's neck.

Title: My Brother\'s Keeper Part A

When Elisa woke the next morning she was surprised to find Fox still there an enigmatic expression on her face as she silently watched her.

The red head was dressed in a cream coloured skirt suit with matching heels.

Feeling suddenly shy Elisa pulled the sheet that was partially covering her up to her neck. Fox smirked arching an elegant eyebrow.

She didn't say anything just reached into the pocket on the side of her jacket. "Since you don't want this I need you to sign it over." She said handing Elisa the torn cashiers check along with a pen.

Elisa stared at it in surprise. She was about to endorse the check over to Fox when the red head stopped her.

"Make it out to Maggie Reed." Fox instructed. Elisa slowly looked up trying to read Fox. For a moment the red head refused to meet her eye. "I just assume the mutants, and the homeless people living with them, could use the money." Fox finally stated looking at her.

"We both know your brother, Talon, would never take it from me. But with your help I'm sure I could get Maggie to accept it." She explained.

Elisa didn't know what to think for a moment the pen hovered over the signature line. "Why are you doing this?" She asked quietly.

Fox seemed to debate how to answer. "I'll never be a saint but even sinners have a conscience." Her eyes were full of regret. "I want to help. I've even approached Talon but he refuses." Fox stated.

Elisa was stunned unaware of Fox's feelings and her offers of assistance.

She shook off her surprise. "Your husband tricked Derek then strung him along promising a cure." Elisa defended, even though she had warned Derek about her suspicions of Xanatos.

"David turned him against Goliath and the clan hoping the mutants would be able to capture them. He has every right to mistrust you both." Elisa said.

Fox's jaw clenched. "I know what David did but even the gargoyles have forgiven him." Fox argued.

"What did David take from the clan?" Elisa asked. "Nothing." She stated.

"He took away Derek and the other mutants humanity. He took away their lives." Elisa said choking up mourning the loss of the little boy she'd grown up with.

Fox reached out cupping Elisa's chin. "I can't change the past. Even if I had full use of my powers I couldn't undo what was done." She said sadly.

Elisa sniffled turning away from Fox. "I'll talk to Maggie see if she'll take the money." Elisa stated. Fox nodded watching Elisa intently.

Chapter 19

Title: My Brother\'s Keeper Part B

Elisa made her way through the labyrinth in search of Maggie Reed, her brother's mate. The lioness had been one of three other people used in genetic experiments by Gen-U-Tech, a company Elisa later discovered was a subsidiary of Xanatos Enterprises.

Their human DNA had been mixed with a serum containing feline, bat, and eel DNA. The result had left them all covered in fur with small bat-like wings and the ability to produce electrical charges.

They lived underground in an abandoned laboratory that they shared with homeless people and Delilah, a hybrid clone, created by Anton Sevarius using Elisa's DNA and DNA from Demona, Goliath's former mate.

Elisa found Maggie and her brother, who now called himself Talon, sitting together in the common room. She'd hoped to speak with Maggie alone but if she had to go through him she would.

She and Derek hugged. Elisa buried her nose in his fur, enjoying the spicy scent coming from him. Maggie was covered in a light gold fur. Derek was the complete opposite, covered in jet black fur from head to toe. With his gold eyes he resembled a panther.

She felt Derek stiffen when they embraced. She pulled back and looked at him, concerned. "Derek?" she asked. He smiled, baring his fangs. "It's nothing," he assured her.

"What brings you down to see us?" He asked. She took his large paw in her hand leading him back to the table where Maggie remained seated. Elisa hugged the woman she considered her sister-in-law and took a deep breath.

"I need to talk to you both about something," she started. They both gazed at her and waited for her to continue.

"You know I wish I could do more to help you," she said sincerely. "But as you know a police officer’s pay can only go so far."

She smiled sadly at them. "But I've found someone with money who wants to help you." The feline pair looked at each other.

Elisa wasn't sure if she saw hope or suspicion in their gold eyes.

She shifted nervously when they returned their focus to her. "Who is it that wants to help us?" Derek asked. Elisa swallowed; the name momentarily lodged in her throat.

Chapter 20

Title: My Brother\'s Keeper Part C

"It's----It's Fox X--." She was cut off when Derek leapt out of his seat, overturning the table. "Nooooo!" He growled out. "We don't want or need her help," he shouted.

He pointed to Maggie and himself. "Look at what they've done to us! The only thing we want from them is a cure." Elisa looked pleadingly at the silent lioness.

"She wants to give you money to buy food, clothes, medicine. You could help the homeless people living down here to get back on their feet," she stated. Derek roared, the sound drowning out all other noise in the lab.

"Who will help us get our humanity back?" He argued. "Who is there to give us our lives back?" He looked at her accusingly. "Go back to your lover and tell her we don't want her charity," he shouted at her.

Elisa looked at him in surprise. "I can smell her all over you. Did you forget I'm not quite human anymore? I have the senses of a cat thanks to Fox and her husband," he stated.

"How can you call yourself my sister and let her touch you?" His eyes widened in horror. She reared back in her seat when he walked up to her, sniffing the air around her. "Did Xanatos touch you?" He asked, paws balled up in large fists.

For the first time since his mutation, knowing who he was, Elisa was afraid of him. "I would never let David Xanatos touch me," Elisa defended. She reached out to put a hand on Derek's shoulder, trying to calm him.

He moved away avoiding her touch. Seeing the hurt in her eyes, Maggie intervened. "The Xanatos' owe us for what they did. We should take the money Fox wants to give. It would benefit everyone living down here," she said, softly stroking his furry chest.

"Just because we can't leave doesn't mean the humans have to be trapped too," she argued compassionately. He growled softly at his mate and walked away from her to stand alone.

"We will call a meeting and put it to a vote to see who wants to accept her help," he said with his back to them.

He looked over his shoulder to stare at Elisa. "If you choose to be with Fox Xanatos, then you're no longer welcome here," he told her.

"She is my enemy and so is anyone who lays with her. So decide who is more important: Your brother or your lover." He concluded as he walked out, not once turning around.

"I'm sorry," Maggie whispered sympathetically. "Derek hates David Xanatos, so his wife is guilty by association------and now so are you. I'll call you with our decision." Elisa nodded unable to speak.

She found her way out of the labyrinth in a daze not believing what had just happened.

Chapter 21

Title: It\'s Not Over

[Author's notes: This story was completed before I started posting it here. I've just been revising it trying to tie it into the next book. So this part of the story, A million reasons, is complete. It was one of my first attempts at fanfiction and hope some ppl enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it.]

It was late evening by the time she got up the nerve to speak with Fox. She found the red head still working and talking into an intercom.

Her head was back, eyes closed as she listened to the caller. "We're very impressed with the X-10 laser rifle Janine, but we were wondering--" the caller cleared his throat, "--if you're still active. We have new recruits in need of your expertise," he said cryptically.

Elisa hovered in the doorway, not sure if this was something she should be hearing. Blue eyes suddenly snapped open pinning her in place. Fox cocked her head at her, an unreadable expression on her face.

"I'm sorry General Stone I need to go. We can continue tomorrow." Elisa couldn't tell if it was a statement or a question, but before he could respond Fox disconnected the call.

Her tired smile was warm as she walked around her desk to greet Elisa. "Hi," Fox said once she reached her. She leaned forward to place a kiss on Elisa's lips. Elisa turned away the kiss landing on her cheek.

"I'm sorry I didn't call but I need to talk to you," Elisa announced in a shaky voice. Fox frowned. She walked Elisa to a chair in front of her desk.

Fox leaned against the desk, her hands resting on the smooth surface, waiting patiently.

Elisa had worked in law enforcement long enough to know that underneath Fox's cool exterior the red head was anxious. A muscle twitched in her jaw and there was unmistakable tightness around her eyes.

Fox had most likely picked up on her own tension the moment she saw her. "The mutates are going to let me know if they are going to accept your help," she said, holding back unshed tears. Elisa took a moment to look around the office, admiring the Greek artwork and sculptures that made up the decor.

She blinked in surprise when her eyes landed on a piece of art that seemed out of place. On one of the walls was a Hopi Indian dreamcatcher. The colorful beading and feathers hanging from it made it stand out.

"Where did you get that?" She asked quietly. Fox gazed fondly at it for a moment. "I found it in New Mexico. I was told it would keep away bad spirits." Elisa found herself unnerved by Fox's intense stare. "So far it has." Fox said.

Elisa looked at Fox, begging her with her eyes to understand. "We're different people Fox. In the end, all we would do is hurt each other," she stated.

"I have unresolved feelings for Goliath and you have David and Alexander." She shook her head, running out of words. Fox just glared at her.

"Do you think you can just play with me then walk away?" Fox asked in disbelief. "When exactly did my husband and child become an issue? Was it when I had my hand up your dress on Dominique's conference room table? Or was it last night when you were licking my pussy!" Fox snapped eyes, blazing.

"Because if I remember correctly, both times you were more than a willing participant." Elisa bristled at Fox's superior tone.

"You did what you do best Fox. I was lonely, confused and you took advantage of that." She saw Fox flinch at the accusation.

"You knew exactly what you were doing when you crawled into bed with me. So don't blame me for something you obviously wanted." Fox stated. Elisa opened her mouth to retaliate but stopped.

She took a deep breath exhaling it slowly trying to calm down. She knew pointing fingers wouldn't solve anything.

"This was a mistake Fox. We should both just admit it and walk away. I appreciate the offer to help the mutants but we should just let it go." Elisa rose from her seat hoping to end this now.

"Maybe before we jumped into bed we should've tried being friends first. Because what's between us now is too unstable; it's like a time bomb waiting to explode. When it does, we won’t be the only casualties." She said, lowering her tone to sound less confrontational.

Fox took an uncertain step towards her. "So you want to go slower. Is that what you need?" She asked. Elisa shook her head sadly. "I told you once before, my happily ever after ends with just two people. You've already got a husband and son." Elisa said gently.

"I wont spend my life as your lover and for you to expect that of me means you're the spoiled rich girl I accused you of being." Elisa concluded.

Fox attempted a weak smile. "After all you've seen you're still thinking like a human. This can end anyway we want but it doesn't have to end like this," Fox responded. "You should talk to David about what he really wants," Elisa said certain that if given the choice Xanatos wouldn't share his wife.

Fox nodded not taking her eyes off of Elisa. "And you shouldn't let your little brother run your life," Fox said quietly. Elisa laughed humourlessly. "Do you have surveillance cameras in the labyrinth?" She asked.

"Just because you want to help them doesn't give you a right to spy," Elisa said, unhappy that even underground she wasn't free of prying eyes.

"This isn't about money; it was never about money," Fox stated calmly. "I make and lose a million dollars on the stock market alone, every night while I'm sleeping.

So the only people Talon would be hurting if he chooses not to take the money are the mutates and homeless people he's charged himself with caring for." She sighed waving a hand carelessly in the air.

"Forget about the money. Forget David, Goliath, and Talon because this is about me and you." Fox's keen eyes were fixed on Elisa, boring into her heart. "There are a million reasons we should end this now." She looked away releasing Elisa from her stare. "But I won't." She stated, gathering up her things and closing down her computer.

"I would never have asked you to spend your mortal life as my lover. I'm not that selfish. In time we can be together sharing a life, a home, a bed." Fox stated.

"But until that day comes you have to be patient. Fox said walking up to her.

She bent her head, catching Elisa off guard, pressing a hard bruising kiss to Elisa's lips. Elisa struggled to pull away once again surprised by the other woman's strength.

Fox pulled away her blue eyes glittering possesively as she stared at Elisa. "You belong to me now. I will kill anyone who puts their hands on you and that includes Goliath." Fox stepped back putting some distance between them.

Elisa shook her head trying to catch her breath. "No Fox, this ends today. You can't dictate my life. I won't let you." Elisa stated.

Fox smiled but it didn't reach her eyes. "If you think this is over Elisa, you're wrong. It's only the beginning." Before she could respond Fox turned and walked out of the room.

Elisa was left wondering if any of them would survive this without getting hurt.

Chapter 22

Title: Epilogue

Epilogue: A Million Reasons

Titania stood in front of her magical mirror watching as Fox and Elisa turned away from each other. Her hopes for the two women dimming but not completely fading. Titania had already given the women an unexpected present.

The night the three of them had gone to dinner had been an illuminating experience. Her half human child had been unable to take her eyes off of Elisa. The human was attractive her expressive, almond shaped, eyes alluring her copper skin enticing.

Unknown by either woman there was someone else watching Elisa ready to claim her as his. She had been impressed with Elisa on their first meeting during her travels with Goliath and Angela on the Avalon Mist.

Elisa had helped Goliath defeat her husband, Lord Oberon, ensuring the humans and gargoyles now living on Avalon could remain even though the fay had returned, after a thousand year absence, to reclaim it.

The fay had been bannished from the island by Oberon himself in 995AD to learn a lesson in humility. Many of them had left the island seeking a new life amongst humans.

It was during her travels around the world that Titania chose the alter ego Anastasia and would eventually marry Halcyon.

It was also at that time that Coyote, a fay trickster, with the ability to shape shift and create powerfull spells had chosen to spend his exile among several Native American Indian tribes as a spiritual guide.

Coyote became linked with the Maza family when a young Peter Maza, Elisa's father, wore his ceremonial mask at a dance of gratitude to the Kachina coyote.

Coyote later became obsessed with Peter Maza and his family taking a special interest in Elisa. If Fox didn't claim Elisa, Titania was certain Coyote would.

Long after the scene faded Titania stood in front of the mirror her calculating mind absorbing what she'd seen. She was never pleased with Fox's choice for a husband. David Xanatos reminded her to much of her own mortal husband, Halcyon Renard.

Xantaos, like Halcyon, was obsessed with immortality. And like herself she was certain Fox would eventually leave him. Halcyon was trying to find a way to preserve his brilliant mind long after his frail body had expired.

It was his mind that had attracted Titania to him in the beginning. He'd built Cyberbiotics, his company, from the ground up producing advanced technological weapons, aircraft, and robots.

But his quest to preserve his life had nearly bankrupted him. Titania left him when he no longer appealed to her. Her only regret was leaving Fox behind. If she'd taken her daughter they would be much closer now.

Titania also felt David played a large role in her not being able to see Alexander, her grandchild. He feared she would take the child and try to raise him on Avalon.

She had no desire to seperate the boy from his parents she new first hand what damage that could do. She only wanted to spend some time with him, if she had to do that in their world she was willing.

This new information changed everything. If Fox and Elisa were to have a child, she was positive Elisa wouldn't forbid her from seeing it.

'Yes,' she thought to herself Elisa would make a much better mate than David Xanatos. Titania waved her hand in front of the mirror changing scenes. She watched as Taurus, the minotaur guardian of New Olympus, stood vigilant over an ancient tree.

Golden fruit dangled from its limbs as tempting now as they had been at the beginning of creation. In man's bible it was called the tree of knowledge. It was written that a serpent tricked Eve into tasting the ambrosia which she'd then given to Adam.

Their disobedience had caused man to be banished from The Garden of Eden. Seperating humanity forever from the other creatures that continued to live in paradise.

But the ambrosia had also given Adam and Eve long life. The two of them, and their direct descendants, had lived to be close to a thousand years old. She watched as a supernatural flame danced around the tree.

Only a full blooded fay or direct descendent of the ancient God's, from Mount Olympus, could pick from it without being burned.

The only effect the fruit had on them is that it was highly intoxicating. But if a human were feed the fruit they would be granted longevity, like their ancestors Adam and Eve.

As a gift for baring her grandchildren Titania would give Elisa the ambrosia. When David Xanatos was just a memory Fox would be free to be with Elisa. Fox's own fay heritage guaranteed her a long life. She waved her hand once more her eyes narrowing in displeasure at what she saw.

Demona was absored in watching the complete surveillance tape of Fox and Elisa. It was the only piece of evidence she had left of their infidelity. The actual video had been erased she was certain Fox had something to do with that.

She licked her lips as she watched Fox's hand disappear between Elisa's legs. She smiled wickedly seeing how close Elisa had been to cumming when she'd interupted.

Fox had objected to her calling Elisa a whore. But what else was she? Accepting money for sex then allowing Fox to take her in a public place. She was still considering sending the tape to Elisa's police Captain.

What would she think of her pet detective trading sex for money. The hairs on the back of her neck suddenly stood up as she became aware of.......magic. She looked around her home office trying to pin point where it was coming from.

A portal the size of a pin started to swirl and expand in front of her desk. Her eyes widened in fear as it continued to grow. When it was large enough someone stepped through.

Since Fox's threat she'd been expecting the three enchanted sisters, she stared in shock as Titania looked coldly at her. The queen was dressed in a flowing v-neck emerald gown that clung to her slim frame.

Her fine red hair was pulled off of her face and piled up on her head like a substitute crown. Her green eyes gave her an almost feline appearance. A hedonistic moan coming from her computer monitor forced Demona's eyes away from the fay queen.

She blushed under her blue skin. "Destroy it." Titania commanded. Demona growled at her tone. "This is my home fay don't tell me what to do!" She shouted in defiance.

She smiled evily glancing down at the tape. "Fuck!" She yelled when her monitor, cable and all, levitated off her desk and floated to Titania. The fay queen nodded her head.

"I new of your deception when Fox told me of her suspicions." Titania said. "Fox is still young but I will teach her to recognize her enemies lies." She said haughtily watching as Fox's hand disappeared between Elisa's legs.

Titania pulled her eyes away from the intimate scene glaring at the gargoyle. Demona's wings fluttered nervously as Titania continued to stare at her. "What do you want!" Demona snapped already weary of her. "

I had no intentions of showing the tape to anyone," she lied easily.

Demona screeched in outrage when her wings wrapped around her imprisoning her like a mummy. "Don't lie to me!" Titania yelled her voice booming like thunder.

"Do it again and next time I will rip your wings from your body making you as flightless as the human you pretend to be during the day." She paused. "Understand me?" She asked in an icy tone.

Demona nodded deciding not to speak. "I have two questions for you." She said holding out her palm as the disc Demona had been watching settled into it and immediately started to melt.

"Would you prefer your punishment to be quick and painful? Or painless but humiliating?" Titania moved closer impressed when the gargoyle showed little fear.

"I believe it's time, Demona, for your lesson in humility." Demona's response was cut short by unseen hands covering her mouth. "Come now. Let us begin." Titania said disappearing in a flash of white light taking Demona with her.
