Chapter 2

Yu-gi-oh! GXL Ch.2: exile of the wicked
By Sasami Kawii

It’s been awhile but since some one was nice enough to review the first chapter, you guys get chapter 2 in return.

It had been mere hours since Nicole defeated her class mate, William Fuller, in her first duel at the academy. Exhausted beyond belief Nicole drudged her way back to her dorm, flopped on her bed and stared at the ceiling for awhile. The small room was still unadorned as Nicole hadn’t unpacked any of her things yet. “I really should put up some posters up there” Nicole thought to herself still staring at the bare ceiling. The room started swirling around Nicole as she started to nod off; her head fell gently on to a pillow she was keeping on her chest.

Inside the realm of sleep Nicole began to dream. Past events in her life began to play over and over in her head. Birthday parties, friends going away, duels it all sped past like a line of cars on the freeway. Suddenly the light of her memories began to shine brighter then the sun. Her mind seemed drawn to this moment, the thought bubble shone brighter till it eclipsed the whole of the dreamscape. When Nicole regained her mind’s eye she saw she was at duel academia, in the obelisk blue arena during entrance exam day. Many duelists were facing down the academy faculty, as she looked more closely a girl with short black hair caught her eye.

“It couldn’t be!” Nicole thought “it just couldn’t.” But it was, the black haired girl was none other then Nicole, waiting happily on the side of the arena awaiting her chance to duel. She was wearing what she considered her favorite clothing. The outfit consisted of a loose yellow shirt, which bore the likeness of a small green cartoon frog. Nicole’s lower body was covered by a long white skirt with the word love stitched into the side in large letters blue letters. She had forgotten to wear she shoes that day. Nicole wondered to herself what she had become of her shoes that day.

As Nicole wondered why the universe had decided to hide her shoes, the memories of her entrance duel played on. As her name was called the mental image of Nicole approached the duel stage. She readied her duel disk and at the faculty’s prompting took the first turn.
Nicole set a nimble Momonga (1000/100) and ended her turn. Observing her duel Nicole recalled the move that had won her entrance to obelisk blue, in the waking world a smile came over Nicole’s sleeping face. The academy faculty member summoned an exarion universe (1800/1900) in attack mode. The dark horsemen appeared in a veil of dark energy and upon entering the arena raised his spear to the heavens where it shone like it was made of real silver.

The faculty member ordered Exarion to attack Nicole’s lone set monster. As the centurion beast warrior galloped towards the Momanga his spear suddenly elongated impaling the momanga through its head destroying it instantly. Due to its sudden weapon shift Exarion traded 400 of its attack points to damage Nicole directly. Nicole’s life points decreased by the difference between Exarion's attack and her Momanga’s defense (1400-100). Due to the little squirrel being killed she both gained 1000 life points and summoned two more Momanga from her deck. The test proctor ended his turn. Looking over her hand Nicole knew she had the duel won. Playing the spell card “smashing ground” Exarion universe was crushed into nothing but a pile of black dust. Nicole followed suit by flipped up both of her squirrels into attack mode, this was it the final blow, summoning a berserk gorilla (2000/1000) was the final step. Ordering all three beast type monsters to attack the proctor was defeated in a mere two turns.

As the proctor’s life points life points dropped to zero, Nicole squealed in a high pitched tone that pierced the ears of everyone in the arena. The next day her test results were mailed to her. Her score had been enough to just barley been enough to push her into the elite obelisk blue dorm. She squealed again. Watching all of this Nicole just laughed a little at how excited she had been. Outside it was morning and the sound of the first alarm of the school day woke Nicole from her dream. It had been a good night, with her purpose renewed Nicole was ready to again face the trails of life and duel academia!
