Chapter 1

Title: Fear Like Butterflies

Quick,
Jump,
Dodge the pain,
The bullet,
The rain.

Run,
Hard and fast,
Heart racing and beating and flying.

Boom.

One shot.
One piece of hot metal,
Ended it all.

And the fear felt was warm,
Soft,
Terrifying.

Butterflies.

Breaking,
Burning,
Crying,
Dying,
I need you here,
To save me now.

But too late is help.

Everything is now black.

Now broken.

Now dressed in sorrow.

Save me.

Let the dead rise,
To fix the living,
Fix what’s broken.

Fix the tears in shattered hearts,
So snow may fall.

The killing arts,
Are those of cold,
Of snow,
Only none so bold,
Nor beautiful.

No feel like that of blood,
Coursing through living flesh,
The sound of the ocean,
Blood leaves the body,
The soul departs,
And again you live through it.

The pain that comes with fairy tales,
Shattered,
And hearts whole and swollen,
But pitch dark and bleeding.

What’s a feeling?

Fear.

Sadness.

Happiness.

Joy.

What are feelings?

Just chemical rises and falls?

Just something there?

Or are they more?

What’s a soul?

Heartfelt feel,
Of a lover’s arms,
Engulfing the negative.

Bringing forth the happy feel,
Taking away all regret.

One piece of hot metal.

One,
Open and flooding wound.

One loss,
For many.

And a thousand broken souls.

Feathers.

Like those of butterflies,
Flutter soft,
In broken eyes.

Rise the dead,
To save the living.

To heal a broken heart.

Save me.
