Chapter 4: Not an ideal situation.

Edited by Camena_Versus

---------------------------

Suyomi viewed herself in the mirror. Depression clouding her features. Raul had left her alone in his office to check on Rin. Suyomi stared at her image in the mirror. She was not so much looking at herself in the mirror than the dress she was wearing. It was a black sleeveless dress that left her shoulders bare. It had a wrinkle design on the bottom and a long silt on the left side. It fit her well even though she complained to Raul about how her breasts were too big for it to fit her well. Of all dresses in my fashion, line why this one, she thought, as she mindlessly touched a small heart shaped pendent around her neck. Her eyes cringed slightly once she realized what she was doing, and she quickly returned her hand to her side. Her thoughts were soon disturbed by someone barging in.

"Rule!" In walked a young man with brownish red hair and light blue eyes. He was wearing a black button down shirt, a blue tie, a pair of black work pants, and a pair of blue and black Nikes. "Where is – Uh, Cora?" the boy asked confused. He didn't know why she would be in Raul's office and with a dress on. It all seemed odd.

"Anthony?" She answered with a question only because she was unaware that Anthony was in the building. She hasn't seen the young man in a few months since both he and Raul when to Japan. He changed some – dressed more mature, changed his hair, and he had a bandage on bridge of his nose. But yeah, mostly his hair. "Your hair. You cut it." she didn't even bother to ask about the nose thing – she was quite sure how it happened.

"Huh?" he asked, still dazed and not aware of what she was talking about. "Oh right! Yes, I did," he said combing his fingers through his short cut hair. He didn't bother to comment on the dress because of multiple reasons.

"It looks more like Rule's now," she said, slightly amused.

"Oh, well..." he looked away blushing.

Suyomi smirked. 'Anthony idolizes Raul and tries to be more like him. One day he's going to dye his hair sliver, I swear.' She chucked a little more at the thought.

Anthony cleared his throat. "I was actually looking for him. By any chance, do you know where he might be?" he asked.

"He's with Rin upstairs in the penthouse," she replied.

He stiffened a little by the news, but not enough for Suyomi to notice. "Thanks" he said, walking. He went out just a quickly as he came in.

. . .

"And... there." Raul said finishing up Rin's make up. "You look amazing." he said with a smile as he held up a mirror.

Rin looked at her reflection. She was very happy with her look. Her hair that was normally down in a straight bob was now pulled back with a clip on one side showing her beautiful face. She had on eye shadow that faded from a light gray to white, eye liner, and light mascara. She really didn't need the makeup Raul added. She was truly a natural beauty stolen from the land of the rising sun, but for the sake of the date, he applied makeup to her look just so Suyomi can see another look to Rin. "Thank you, Calvin-kun." she smiled at the dark skin rarity.

"You're very welcome, Rin." He returned a smile and gently petted the girl's head. "Now, go put on the outfit I picked out for you."

She nodded then got up and walked to Suyomi's room to get dressed.

Raul remained on the large "C" shaped couch in the living room and began to watch TV as he waited for Rin to finish dressing. Rin is almost ready, Suyo is waiting down stairs, everything is coming back together. Thank God. He sighed. I could use some down time… While stretched on couch, the bar got his eyes attention. And a drink. He got up.

KNOCK KNOCK

Hm? He walked over to the door. Without bothering to ask who it was, he opened the door.

"Where is she?!" Anthony demanded, brushing pass Raul into Cora's apartment.

"Hello to you too Anthony." Raul said dully, closing the door behind Anthony's dramatic entrance.

"Raul, let's not be coy. Where is she?" he harshly inquired, staring into Raul's eyes.

He stared back into the younger boy's eyes, unfazed by his emotions. "Does it matter?"

He was shocked at his reply. "Of course it matters! She-" he stopped short of his sentence once he saw Rin walk out. He was about to walk over, but Raul walked passed him, placing his hand on his shoulder to stop the boy.

"Don't even think about it," he stated. "Look, we can talk about this when I get to Brooklyn or you can wait for me in my room on the 3rd floor." Like Suyomi, Raul also had an apartment in the building. Anthony owned an apartment in Brooklyn, and since they just came back from Japan, they've been going to both places to check on things.

"...Fine," he said, yanking his shoulder away from Raul's grip and walked out the door. "I'm going home."

Rin stood there, confused by the interactions between the two.

Raul held his head. 'I'm definitely going to need a drink.' He thought.

Rin walked over to Raul. She was fully dressed, wearing a long, white, flared shirt that could also pass for a short dress, and black short-shorts underneath. On her feet she had on summer-like wedges with white laces that tie up around her ankles. She also had on white feather earrings and bangles. "Is something the matter with Anthony-san? Why did he leave?"

"Nothing." Raul pauses then continued. "He's just in a rush to go see his sister," he replied, still looking in the direction of the door where Anthony stormed out moments ago.

Rin nodded, she didn't know Anthony had a sister, but she did want question Raul any further.

"Anyway," he said turning to Rin. "You look amazing."

Rin smiled lightly then faded.. "I hope Cora-sama thinks the same."

"Aw," he walked over to her, lifting her chin to meet his gaze. "Believe me, Suyomi is gonna 'love' you."

She smiled.

. . .

Suyomi was still unsure of the events that might take place during their date. Because of Raul's influence, the "Just getting to know each other" date was becoming a full-on real date. The pair traveled around Manhattan in Suyomi's personal limo, taking up sights. Well, Rin took up the sights. Suyomi couldn't take her eyes off the Japanese girl. Since they left the tower, Suyomi found herself still glancing at Rin from the corner of her eye every minute or so. She looks amazing... She should really wear nice clothes more often. They suit her, the designer thought.

Rin stared out the window. The view was wonderful. So many light and different types of people. She found that some of them looked strange; well, actually, a lot of them. Some looked classy and some looked poor. This was the first time she'd ever been to the US, but she, unlike a lot people, didn't have any expectations of the country. She also understood that it was huge – way bigger then Japan. And she knew that New York alone didn't reflect America by itself.

Suyomi was happy that Rin seemed to be enjoying herself. Even though the girl was hard to read when she wasn't being direct, she didn't look bored so Cora took it as a good sign. She smiled at her logic then continued to think. Raul told the driver of the limo to take them somewhere in two hours. He didn't reveal the location to Suyomi. Of course not. She shook her head. He's always up to something.

After almost an hour of sightseeing, Suyomi gave the driver a street and he nodded his head to show he understood. They arrived at the location. It turned out to be in a rather remote Japanese restaurant.

"Here you are, Madame Cora," the driver opened the limo door, "and the lovely Rin." He said as he gently kissed her hand while helping the Japanese girl out.

She smiled politely as he brought his attention to Cora.

"She is truly a dame, Suyomi," the French man complemented the girl.

Cora just smiled in response. "We should be done in about an hour, Serge." She told him because it didn't seem fair that he would have to wait outside with nothing to do. He could always go somewhere and come back.

"Of course, mademoiselle. Take your time." He smiled knowing how considerate his Boss can be, but he never took advantage of such kindness from her. He stood by the limo and watched the females as they went in.

. . . (earlier that day)

"Sorry Suyo. Somehow Anthony got hurt." He spoke with much concern; little mumbles of pain was heard from the background. "It looks like a book hit his face . . ." I think my noise is broken! "Yeah he’s hurt. . . I'll tell you all about it a work on Monday, bye!" he hung up quickly.

"Owww!" the young boy shut his eyes and held his nose in pain. The impact had him fall back onto Raul's bed. "The fuck you did that for Raul?" He opened his eyes just to see Raul on top of him staring at his face. He blushed a little causing some blood to come out of his nose.

"You are such a pretty boy," he mumbled rolling his eyes while examining his nose. After a few minutes he was satisfied. "Suck it up. It's not broken. You'll be fine." he got up and went over to his dresser. "Here," he tossed the bruised peach a box of tissues and a Band-Aid. "Clean yourself up."

"Okay..." He caught the stuff. "Hey, where are you going," he asked once he saw Raul putting on his jacket.

"To the job."

"Wait? Why? You just told Cora you'll see her on Monday?"

"True. I don't plan on staying long, I just want to check up on some things," he said getting his keys.

"You're just going to see Rin," Anthony pouted.

"Er-hm. Why? You jealous?" Raul asked tauntingly.

"No." Anthony deepened his pout.

Raul smirked evilly as left his companion and headed back to work. Yes, he did want to check up on Rin and do his best to make the date go smoothly, but he also wanted to check up on the tower and make sure it's running. Like Suyomi, he sometimes believed that the tower would come to a crumbling heap without him.

Once there, he was welcomed with the normal stiffened postures from the guards. Inside, the same gesture was shown on the people at front dest and indoor security.

Raul greeted them with a smile as he always did, however they didn't take it as a sign to relax. Mr. Calvin, though friendly, was not someone to be taken lightly. With that same smile, he once fired a man on his birthday, which was Christmas, and made him leave while there was a snow storm outside. The reason why he fired the guy was not because he missed a week of work without even to bothering to call in, -- something could have happened to him – made several rude comments about the gay community -- he was entitled to his own beliefs – and hit on women while still on the job – women were tempting. Raul fired him because he demanded a raise. Raul figured if he was bold enough to demand a raise with his record, then Raul would match his boldness.

"Good afternoon, gentlemen," Raul said casually as he entered the surveillance room. Everyone greeted him in the same manner; unlike the guards and the front desk workers, they saw him coming.

"Good afternoon, Mr Calvin." A very tall and muscular man walked up to Raul. (he looked something like Scar from "Full metal Alchemist" with out the Scar and taller. Again I don't own the show.)

"Good afternoon, Wallace." Raul greeted the man with a smile. "Any reports?"

"No Sir. Everything is going smoothly."

"That's good. I guess I'll go to my office and-"

"Sir!" one of the surveillance men sitting at the monitors called. "Mr. Flynn has arrived."

"Hm?"

Suyomi and Rin sat at a table inside the restaurant, enjoying each others company with small talk, and from time to time they would actually eat.

"....and that's how I found this place." Suyomihe smiled as she finished her story.

Rin chuckled some as she listened to the story, but her laugher stopped as she was approached by a man with a chief’s hat.

"Rin-chan," he asked enthusiastically.

"Kojo..." she replied not nearly as excited.

The man continued to talk to her in Japanese, smiling and making friendly gestures. Suyomi assumed they were friends and didn't interfere with they're conversation. He talked with her for about a minute before Rin made mention of Cora's presence.

The man turned to her. "Oh, Utsukushii," he smiled at Suyomi.

Rin made a face that went unnoticed to Cora and the man.

"Pardon me, Miss," the man said.

"Oh it's no problem," she waved it off.

"My name is Kojo" he bowed his head slightly.

"It's nice to meet you, Koji. I'm..."

"Suyomi Cora," he finished her sentence. "Yes I'm quite sure everyone knows who you are. It is a pleasure to meet you Cora-san."

"Likewise," she replied sipping some off her wine.

"Enjoy your food." He turned his attention to Rin. "See you around, Rin."

She didn't reply but only watched him as he walked away.

Suyomi couldn't place the look on the young girl's face. That guy seems odd, but I guess they were friends back in Japan, she thought as she continued to sip her wine. What was her life like in Japan anyways…, "Rin."

"Yes?" She returned her attention to back to her master as if the man was never there.

"Tell me about yourself."

She looked at her puzzled. "What would you like to know, Cora-sama?"

"Anything. Like what part of Japan are you from?"

"I was born in Osaka but raise in Hokkaido," she said rather to the point.

"Hokkaido? I never heard of that place before," she inquired in hopes of getting a conversation started up again. "What's it like?"

"It's commonly known as Ezo. It's a rural island away from the city areas like Osaka and Tokyo; it's very quiet. I lived there with my parents and siblings for as long as I could remember. It's a very nice, quiet place.”

"I see. I always wanted to go to Japan. It was my mothers’ homeland." She looked down at her wine.

"I see." Rin ate some of her food.

After that couple ate together having light conversations. After they were they went back into the Limo and headed to the secret location Raul planed for them.

"Rule, set up a yacht for us," Suyomi said while she rested her elbows on the rail of the boat. "Go figure. He and Serge love the sea," she said, smiling in the direction of Serge who had his back turned as he manned the ship.

Suyomi looked at Rin who was enjoying the view.

Rin felt her gaze. "Hai...?" She turned back to meet Suyomi eyes.

"Oh, sorry. I was thinking," she looked away, "you're a nice girl Rin. How did you get here?" She asked slowly.

"Calvin-san and Anthony-san brought me from--"

"No," she paused. "I meant how did you become…a slave?"

"I choose to be one," she said plainly as usual.

Suyomi looked at her wide-eyed. "But why?"

She looked back at the sea. "2 years ago, my mother was hospitalized with a very rare illness. My father worked very hard to pay the hospital expenses but he still could not meet the amount. 9 months from then, he took a loan from one of the biggest mob lords in Japan, The Yakuza. With that loan he was able to pay for all of her expenses and the blood transfusion she need to recover. The master of The Yakuza gave my father one year to pay the clan back. However, when the year came my father was short. He pleaded with boss and the Yakuza lord gave him 5 more months pay him fully. The man threatened to do horrible things to my family if he didn't. I knew my father wouldn't be able to pay the money on time, so I offered myself to the mob boss." She looked at Suyomi.

Suyomi met her eyes.

. . . (earlier that day)

"So Anthony decided to tag along?" He looked at the surveillance monitor.

Anthony was wearing a black Fedora hat, a white button down shirt with a black tie and black dress shoes. He was being held up by fan girls passing by. He kindly waved them off.

Raul started reading some papers brought to him. After 10 mins passed he looked around surprised not to see Anthony. "Where is Flynn?" he asked the monitor guy.

"He was last seen going on the elevator 2 minutes ago. Looks like he's headed for the penthouse." The monitor guy showed him the footage of Anthony getting on the elevator.

Anthony looked up then walked in the penthouse. Raul eyes widened and he ran out the office.

"Sir!" some of the men called out for him.

KNOCK KNOCK

Rin went to open the door. "Anthony-san?"

Anthony quickly touched her neck hitting a pressure point thus knocking Rin out. He watched her fall to the ground and circled around her body on the floor looking down at her. He kneels down, reaching his hand towards her face.

"Don't!" a very pissed Raul stood at the door frame. "Who do you think you are coming here like this,--"

. . . (date)

"So did he...." Suyomi looked away not really sure how to ask her question.

She shook her head. "No. He wanted to maintain my purity." She said, her head facing the ocean.

"So, how were you able to meet Raul with all this going on?"

"I came to the mob boss 3 months before my father’s deadline, I still had two months of freedom. In that time I continued my job as a waitress at a maid café, there I met Calvin-kun and Anthony-san." she said with a warm smile. "Cora-Sama, how did you meet Raul-kun and Anthony-san?" Rin asked. She continued to watch the waves.

"Hmm," she through her head back and looked up at the sky. "Well, I was about 5 years old when I first met Rule. My mother found him and brought him home with her.

Rin faced her.

"At first I was unsure about him. I was scared of him." She furrowed her eyebrows at the recollection. "He was covered in dirt and blood, quiet, and his eyes, they were blank. Never had I seen someone without emotion like him. But, after a while I realized he wasn't such a bad guy. He became family to me." She looked to Rin. "As for Anthony. One day, while coming home from school, there was a bunch of thugs beating up these two kids. Raul and I stepped in and we fought the guys off. That when we met Anthony and his identical twin sister....."

"--Jennifer." Rule glared at the poser.

She smiled.
