"Cora-sama?" Rin looked up at the woman.

"It's your choice, Rin. I'm not commanding you. I'm just asking you as a friend," the light haired brunette spoke. "Do you want to?"

"Hai," Rin said nodding her head slowly.

 . . .

"Yeah. So that's what happened." Suyomi said talking over the phone. Placing a warm mug down on her office desk, she pulled out a chair and sat down. Her office was big and empty. Plaques on her walls were the only decorations.  She had many awards, mostly fashion related; best designs, best clothing line, best model… Then she had others like humanitarian awards, animal rescue, blood donations, and charity awards.

Raul laughed on the other end of her head piece. "I told you, Suyo."

  "What's so funny?"

  "You."

  "Huh? How so?"

"You’re so unaware of your beauty."

"What?" She slightly blushed. "Where is this even coming from?"

"I know you, Suyomi. You're so shy around her – all women for that matter but especially her because she throws herself at you," he said. In all of Suyo's past relationships she was the dominate one. However Rin's boldness and advances had turned the tables. But you don't get that yet do you, Suyomi?

"That's not entirely true. And she only 'throws' herself at me because she was taught to."

"Suyo," he said with a hint of sadness.

"You're beautiful. And you two make a very cute couple-"

  "We are not a couple-"

"Yet," he stated. "I mean, you must have taken some interest to her if you wanted to go on a date."

"It's just a friendly date, Raul. I just want to take her around New York before she goes,"

  "Hmm. Okay."

"Wait, don't 'hmm', Raul! Hmm'ing always means something," she ginned in fear.

He laughed. "It's nothing. I was just wondering where my angel Rin is." he lied.

"She's sleeping." And Suyomi fell for it. "I decided it would be better if we went out late. New York City looks it's best at night with all the bright lights and everything. And she didn't get much sleep either."

"How come?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe I'll have to get a better bed; or maybe meds," she began to brainstorm, biting on the end of her pen.

He smiled. Modifying the house and finding ways to make her more comfortable? Yeah, I'm sure you’re just dying for her to leave. Raul snickered at his thoughts. "That's good. And where are you? Watching over her as she sleeps?"

"Ha. Ha," she faked a laugh. "No. I'm in the office trying to make up for yesterday. I overslept."

  "I heard."

  "Rin told you?"

  "Yeah."

"How does she even know your number?"

  "It's in her cell phone."

  "She has a cell phone?"

He laughed. "Yeah. I bought her one when she came to New York – just in case she was ever in an emergency."

"I see," she said straightening out her paper work on her desk.

"Well," Raul began.

  "What?"

"Are you looking forward to the date? I mean, this will be your first date since you broke up with Jennifer. Aren't you excited?"

"Correction, Jennifer broke up with me and we don't speak of that."

"Right, right." He exhaled. "Back to Rin."

"It's not even a real date, Rule. I just want know more about the girl that you so kindly placed into my home." She spoke with  professionalism but with a small hint of sarcasm.

"Right. So you are," Raul said.

"There's no talking to you," she shook her head. "Anyway, I have to find her something to wear." She sipped her coffee.

"What about the blue kimono with red flowers or the violet dress?"

"What kimono and dress?" She stopped drinking.

  "The ones I got her."

"Wait, she owns clothing," she asked in shock.

"Yeah I brought her a whole wardrobe back when we where in Japan."

"What? All this time she's been walking around in her birthday suit."

He laughed.

"Yeah I really think this date is needed. Who knows what else you two might have harbored in my house."

  "Did you see the kitten?"

"What? You got me a kitten?"

"No! I got you Rin and I got Rin a kitten."

"And you also got her porn! What hell?"

Raul laughed again.  "What? It's what she wanted."

"You don't just give people porn, Raul! And who is taking care of this refugee kitten?"

   "I lied about the kitten."

"You slivered haired playboy!" She said jokingly.

"Damn straight," he replied. "Maybe I will get Rin a kitten. So your pet can have a pet."

"Don't call her that," She spat harshly.

"Talk about 0 to 60. I'm only kidding, Ms. Authoritative."

"I'm so taking my keys back from you."

"Over my sexy tanned body. Beside aren't you supposed to be working," he asked brazenly.

"Didn't I fire you," she snapped back.

"What's that Anthony?! You called me?!"Raul yelled behind him.

   "I didn’t call yo- OUCH!"

"Sorry, Suyo. Somehow Anthony got hurt." He spoke with much concern; little mumbles of pain was heard from the background. "It looks like a book hit his face."

I think my noise is broken!”Anthony screamed in the background.

"Yeah he’s hurt. I'll tell you all about it a work on Monday, bye!" He hung up quickly.

Raul you fool. Suyomi sighed, leaning back into her chair. Anyway, I still don't have an idea of where or what we are doing tonight. She closed her eyes, placing an arm over them and began to think.

  . . .

"Erm…" Rin groaned, slowly awakening from her day sleep. She turned on her side and pulled a pillow from the other side of the bed to her chest and face. She inhaled lightly. Cora-sama. After a few moments of breathing in her master scent, she sat up on the bed. The room was empty and she was dressed in a purple robe she did not remember putting on. Rin got up; she was going to the bathroom to take a shower, but before she could, she heard a knock on the door. She walked to the door not bothering to fix her robe or to ask who it was; she opened the door. A pair of gray eyes met her chocolate ones.  "Anthony-san?"

  . . .

Suyomi continued working. Being a stickler as she was, she went over her work over and over, making sure everything was perfect. It was summer time, and fashion is at its zenith, which meant she would have to rise to meet the demands of her company.  Though she had good workers such as Jun and Raul, she placed the burden of editing designs, writing magazine articles, and managing commercials on herself. To her, it was her dream that she achieved. Now that it’s real, she couldn’t fall asleep on it. She was done with all her work from yesterday and finished most of Monday’s work. All she would have to do now is attend a charity event. Suyomi sat back in her chair wondering about how the rest of her day is going to play out. Finally, she decided to get up and head out. She locked her office door and walked towards the elevator. The floor her office was on was empty; however, there were some workers on the other floors of her massive tower, finishing up work.. She also had security on every floor to keep her business and her home as safe as possible.

She stepped into the elevator. Preoccupied with thoughts on how the evening might go, she didn’t even notice that the elevator was headed down. She walked out. Maybe I should take her to that new place that opened up on 42nd – What the – Suyomi looked around. I was so busy thinking I forgot to press the button leading up. Jeez, I’m becoming hopeless. Just as soon as she turned to get back inside the elevator, three security guards rushed passed her.

"What’s going on?!" She yelled towards them.

One security guard stopped for a moment. "Sorry Ma’am! We’re on it," he said, and then jogged off to meet his partners.

"What? That doesn’t explain anything," she shouted, seeing if he would come back and explain, but the guards continued on.  She groaned as she started to run in the direction of the commotion, but she stopped. Rin! Before she could fully get her thoughts together, someone had grabbed her and blinded her with a linen bag. She but up a fight but her attacker hit a pressure point on her neck and felled her.

. . .

"FUCK," yelled a very conscious Suyomi. "Whoever the fuck you are, I’m going to-"

"Claim down, Suyo." The bag was lifted, and she was greeted by blue eyes and sliver hair. "It’s me."

"Rule?!" She yelled at him, "What the hell!?"

"I haven’t seen you this enraged since we were younger. You were always a very headstrong child," he said casually.

"And you were always a fucking psycho!" She yelled at him some more, wriggling in the chair he tied her to.

"And you always had a strange way of showing love…" he mumbled.

"Untie me, Raul; something was going on inside the building! I must find out if everything is ok," she said trying to maneuver her way out of the chair.

"Relax, Suyo. Everything is fine," he said in his normal soothing charismatic voice.

"What? Then what was up with everyone?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Well, being head of security, I had them do a drill. A drill that they all failed. Instead of dealing with the problem, they should have tended to you. And for that, they’re all in the parking lot doing 100 push ups."

"A drill?" As believable as that sounds I don’t believe him. He knew about my date with Rin, and he would never interfere with my plans especially the ones he planned.  What are you hiding from me Raul? "Okay. Well, at least inform me when the next ‘drill’ happens."

"Aw, but that would take away all the fun," he said untying her from the chair. "Besides, Suyo, attacks happen at random. I’m also preparing you. You were way too easy to kidnap," he scolded.

She got up out of the chair and gave him the "I know-I know" look.

"What happened to you?" He crossed his arms. "You could have easily gotten out of that hold."

"I wasn’t focused. I mean, we’re not street kids anymore. I usually don’t have to fight or be cautious like back then. I guess – I guess I just lost touch," she said placing one hand on her hip and running the other through her hair.

"I’ll say. You haven’t even noticed yet."

"Noticed what?"  Suyomi asked as Raul brought her a body length mirror.

"This," he smirked.

Her eyes widened. "Oh, my- You put me in a dress! How long was I knocked out for?!"

"An hour, give or take. At least it’s your brand of clothing- which you hardly ever wear! What’s the point of being a fashion artist if you don’t wear your product?"

"They’re for my mu- my models…" she stopped herself from saying something that was no longer real. "It’s really for them and customers, of course." She walked away.

Raul knew he was bringing up bad memories and changed the subject. "Whomever they are for, they suit you better than they suit anyone else."

"Thank you, Rule." She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him lightly on the lips.

"What can I say? I Rule," he smiled.

[End notes:

Michael Jackson birthday was two days ago (aug, 29) and as a typed the final 2 pages I kept listing to “Sooth criminal” now all I can think of is… Is Annie okay? (R.I.P. M.J.) But really I hope everyone is ok> NY and a few other states just got through a hurricane. It wasn’t that bad on NYC where I’m at but in some other places I heard it was. My prayers goes out to all of those people.

Sorry guys about the late chapter. I had a bit of a block but a few glasses of bubble tea and I’m all better. I hope it was worth the wait. I know its not the date you’ve wanted to read so badly but it’s somewhat important to the plot. And besides…. Raul’s madness is worth the wait right?  x). Anyways thanks for reading everyone! Comment and rate.

P.S. Raul's Nick name is Rule for those who didnt get that. x)
