Minako dashed up the stairs of the shrine, her cheeks rosy and pink with excitement, and the mild exertion of taking the shrine stairs two at a time.
She was just so happy to be able to see her. She finally had a break between her new album touring schedule, and she just wanted to spend that time with the one person who usually infuriated her...but who had also utterly captured her heart.
Minako finally reached the top of the shrine steps, and paused briefly to rest her hands on her knees and catch her breath. She knew that she really shouldn't be exerting herself so much, but for this special person her current health took backseat to seeing her.
Minako let out a slow breath and then quickly straightened up, and began striding purposefully through the high arches of the shrine entrance. What she saw in the courtyard before her nearly took the breath she had just gotten back away.
"Reiko..." Minako breathed out on an almost-reverent puff of air.
The shrine maiden was wearing her miko outfit and gently sweeping up stray leaves, her hips swaying lightly to and fro. She hadn't yet noticed her avidly watching visitor as she hummed a soft, lilting tune that caused a small smile to appear on Minako's lips.
Then Minako was running, as fast as her legs would carry her, and before Rei had a chance to look up in shocked surprise, she found herself pounced and hugged by a laughing bundle of energy. A bundle of energy she hadn't seen in far far too long and who set her heart racing, and who fit so snugly and perfectly in her arms as the broom in her hands fell.
"Reiko! I'm home!" Minako exclaimed, as she immediately pressed her lips against the warm ones of the woman before her.
Rei sighed softly in deep pleasure as her arms slipped tightly around Minako's waist, and she pulled the singer firmly against her own body.
"Yes, Minako...you're home," Reiko replied as she kissed her angel softly and sweetly.
