Chapter One
It is here ,in the comfort of my chamber, that I relay the details of my own story that is of the up most interest. That is, regarding my encounters of loves embrace. I am only writing to vent out my frustration on the matter but yet as if to recollect my thoughts on her. My mind shakes violently as I recall the moments with my dearest but enough of my rambling.
My story begins with the entrance of my most beloved maid frantically calling out my name, trying to awake me from past nights dreams. Ah, bless her soul..
_____________________________________________________________________________________
“Miss Liere! Miss Liere! You must wake if you wish not to offend the Centroso family shortly tonight at the celebration!” The ramblings of my maid, Eva, start to collect in my mind as I jolt out of my bed from my slumber. “Eva why did you not wake me sooner?” I frantically began to look through my garments and start to change in a gown for this evening as Eva explains the situation. “Aye, my lady, you’ve been sound asleep the whole day till now.” “You simply would not let your dreaming rest.” I let out a sigh of frustration as I have yet again succumbed to my sleeping ritual. This was not in the least bit lady like. I sat at my bedside and began to brush through my curly locks of gold. “You may go tell my father that our departure shall be soon.” “Yes my lady.” Eva exited my chamber and silently closed the door behind her.
Why did I have to attend this infernal celebration that is the barrier between me and my sleep? But, I knew the answer lies within my name. My family name, Monlentio, is of royal decent, along with the host of this evening’s celebration, the Centrosos, and a handful of other families that encircle Spain. My father Sir Julian Monlentio and his very good friend Sir Andres Centroso have decided on celebrating a successful harvest at the Centroso estate with a feast. All royal families and upper class are expected to show to the celebration and that day is today.
I made my decent down the steps of our estate to find my mother and father relieved to see me ready so quickly. We hastily entered our carriage and headed for the Centroso estate. On the ride there my mother decided to comment on my recent sleeping habits. “Oh dear, Liere if your sleep spells continue, time will pass by and you’ll be a withered hag by the time your twenty-third birthday arrives!” My father in a humored tone responded “Oh Helena, Liere is barely seventeen let alone twenty-three! Let the poor girl rest as she chooses.” I sighed and exclaimed “Must we always go to this subject in every carriage ride?” My mother shook her head in a disappointed manner “It seems that we’ll have to.” Before I could say something back the carriage stopped, signaling that we had arrived at the Centroso estate.
I myself have never lay my eyes on the estate before me, let alone been inside. I suppose very good friends fancy to keep their distance. Never have gone here, I was hesitant in stepping out of the carriage. My mother looked my way and assured me that I would enjoy tonight’s events. “There will be plenty of people your age to talk to, you shant get lonely. Sir Centoso has a daughter your age. Perhaps the two of you can become acquainted at the celebration. Come now, don’t want to be late.” I smiled and reassured myself of this celebration. I have attended many gatherings before. There should be nothing to worry about. But I was terribly wrong.
We were greeted at the door by a lively Lady of the estate. Lady Montse set her gaze on me and let out a surprised shriek. “Oh Helena you did not tell me of how exquisitely beautiful your daughter, Liere, is! She has your eyes and oh such a darling face!” I blushed at her compliments and lowered my gaze. It was then that I saw waves of light brown hair hurried along a long corridor and entered a room.
Who was that?
I had to know.
My thoughts drifted back to when my mother was telling me how the Centrosos had a daughter. That must have been her. Overtaken by curiosity, I entered the estate and slowly made my way down to the corridor I saw her last. I had no one’s attention as all eyes were on the remarkably large pig with a round red apple in its jaws grip. I quickly slipped past the crowd and stood in front of the door I knew she entered.
I paused for a moment and then knocked. A moment of silence passed by as I finally heard a voice that said “Come in.” I opened the door and walked in. Then after closing the door behind me did I look up to find an angel sitting next to the window sill. Just as I saw moments before, her hair was of a light brown color. Curls reaching mid-back and resting on light tan shoulders. Her eyes were of a honey gold stained red from what appeared like crying. I felt a pang in my heart as I saw her trying to hold back her sobs. My mouth moved on its own as I asked “May I ask your name?” Her beautiful eyes looked up at my own and while trying to hold back tears she said “Celia, Celia Centroso.” As I had thought, this angel was the daughter. I walked up to her and asked the reason for her crying. “Today is my birthday. My parents instead throw a feast for the harvest. I feel…I feel forgotten.” Upon hearing this I slowly walked up to her and took her hand in mine. I slight blush appeared on my face as I realized what I was about to do. “Well then my darling Celia, happy birthday.” I raised her hand to my lips and gave her soft skin a gentle kiss. I pulled her into a tight embrace and felt the warmth soaring through my body. It was at that moment when I felt I needed this girl in my life.
She stopped her crying and took my heart.
[End notes: Well, right now I just wanted to introduce the characters. Mmm, tell me if you like or hate it. Uh, did I leave my oven on...? Next chapter will be soon, better, and longer. A lot longer..]
Chapter 2
[Author's notes: I think this chapter is much better and have decided that on Saying Andres as On-dreys]
Chapter Two
Time flew by as I do not recall how long that moment endured. My trance was broken when she began to speak. “I have not known you but for a moment and you come and comfort me.” Slowly she retreated from my embrace. “Why?” I held my breath for I myself did not know the reason as to why. We stood there in silence when Celia finally spoke again. “It’s not to say that I minded. In fact, I feel much more relieved. To whom should I give my gratitude?” A smile played across my lips as I introduced myself. “Daughter of Sir Julian and Lady Helena Monlentio, my name is Liere.” A smile appeared on her face and oh how it made my heart melt so. “Liere is a beautiful name.” I felt my heart skip a beat at the mentioning of those words.
“Come with me.” I heard her say. Celia took my hand in hers as she led me upstairs to yet another door. She turned to me and said, “This is mine.” She opened the door to reveal an extravagant room decorated in whites and golds. We both took a seat on her bed and looked at each other. “Care to tell me about yourself?” I asked her. Her lips started to move but I heard no words as I was concentrating on how smooth and rosy her lips were. They stopped moving and then moved again but this time I heard her say, “And you?” At first my mind did not make the connection. My only response was a confused noise. Then she asked again. “Liere, what about yourself?” I moved closer to her, closing the gap and said, “All my interests are on you now.” Then the distance between my lips and hers was gone when I felt the warm tenderness of her lips on mine own. To my surprise she kissed me back. The gentle beginning of the kiss was soon replaced with more passion. Her lips parted and I took the opportunity to explore her mouth. Our tongues met and played a game of cat and mouse as I laid the sweet Celia down on her back. I started nipping at her neck as I caressed her stomach from the outside of her gown. Her small moans made me even hotter as I enjoyed every minute of it.
It was to the point where I wanted to rip off her gown to touch her every fiber of her soft flesh when a knock was heard at the door. “Celia, are you inside?” A familiar voice was standing outside the door. We quickly broke apart and straightened ourselves. “Yes mother.” I heard Celia say. The door opened and the lady of the house stepped inside. A wave of relief spread across her face when she saw me. “I was going to ask if you have seen the Monlentio’s daughter but I see the two of you have been acquainting yourselves.” A blush appeared on Celia’s face and one on mine as we have more than “acquainted” ourselves. Lady Montse spoke again. “Sir Julian and Lady Helena are ready to depart as the feast has long been over. I shall tell them that you will be coming soon.” With that she left.
I rose to my feet and shifted my gaze to the angel beside me. She gave me a soft smile and said, “I hope to see you soon.” I held her hand once again and kissed it. “I have a feeling we will.”
I made my way down the staircase to find my father and mother making light conversation with the lord and lady of the estate. “Ah, Andres it seems we will have to continue this another time as my daughter is here.” “Oh I see, I bid you farewell then good Julian. Keep in mind that I will come to visit the day after morrow. I’m sure my daughter will be delighted to have someone to talk to as she does not have any young companions.” I saw a smile appear on Lady Montse’s face at the mentioning of the visit. “We will be delighted.” I heard my mother say in a cheery tone.
Before exiting the estate I turned my head to take one last glance inside to see the beautiful Celia at the top of the staircase looking straight into my eyes. I smiled one last time and made my way to the carriage. The trip home was made in silence as father and mother were exhausted from the nights feast. I let myself daydream of the lovely Celia. I snapped out of my dreaming when I realized we arrived at our estate. Once inside I made my up the staircase to my chamber and leapt onto my bed. I hugged my pillow and smiled for the longest until I let the grasps of sleep pull me under. I awoke in the middle of the night from a dreamless slumber. Unable to sleep I sat up in my bed and stared at the deep redwood wall for what seemed like ages. Feeling my eyelids fall heavy I stood up to look outside my window before going back to bed. Outside I saw a female figure in the courtyard. Under the moon light it appeared to resemble Lady Montse. Before I could even let shock take over I felt myself yawn. Rubbing my eyes I went back to look outside but saw no one. I shook it off as my imagination and went back to bed.
I woke up the next morning from a wonderful dream. It was, of course, about the lovely Celia. It took place right before the interruption between us. This time, in my dream, there was no one to stop us. My hand left her stomach and traveled up her the length of her arm. I felt a shiver coming from her as I did this. My hand traveled upwards more to her right shoulder. I took both my hands and hooked my fingers under where her shoulders met her dress and began to slowly shed her of the clothing. She sat up and pulled down my dress as well leaving us both in our undergarments. I climbed on top of the beauty and we continued our passionate kissing. I slipped my hand under to knead at her soft breasts, her nipples hardening at my touch. A gasp escaped her mouth but was quickly replaced by a soft, delightful moan. I started to trail kissed down her stomach when sadly I awoke from my dreaming.
A sigh made its way between my lips as I thought back to what could have happened. Then I smiled at the thought of her visiting tomorrow. I couldn’t hold my excitement any longer and jumped out of my bed. At that very moment Eva knocked and entered. “Your bath is ready Liere.” She looked up at me and smiled. “You look very excited today.” “Ah Eva, there are a multitude of reasons as to my excitement. I only wish the day would go by soon so as tomorrow may come.” “Why do you not just sleep the day today as you normally do to make the day go by sooner?” “I would if I could Eva. My joy will just keep me up.”
Skipping down the hall to the wash room I took my bath. The steaming water was soothing to my body and mind. Even after speaking to Eva about my inability to sleep today, I found myself drifting off. It felt so good. It was only after I felt my breath was taken away did I wake to find myself submerged in the bath water. Feeling I had enough, I reemerged from the tub and dried off with a towel. I walked back to my room and put on a simple dress. Downstairs my mother was waiting for me at the breakfast table. “I was wondering if you’d ever get up. Good thing I had Eva reassure me that you would be joining us this lovely morning.” A smile graced my lips as I said, “Something has kept me up.” I sat down at the table in front of my mother and began to eat breakfast. The meal was simple. It was an egg and noodle soup and some bread at the side. When I finished eating I looked up to notice my father was missing from the table. “Where’s father?” I asked. My mother shifted in her seat as if uncomfortable and said, “He went out.” “How long will he be out?” “A month.” My mother’s eyes rested on the untouched soup in front of her. I was alarmed to hear the news. I was worried that a certain someone would not be able to come now that my father will be gone. “We have guests for tomorrow! Will they have to postpone the visit?” “No, no, no my dear. Julian and Andres are going together; he will come tomorrow to leave his wife and daughter in our care. Your father went to get a head start. You know how friends act.” A feeling of relief washed over me and was immediately replaced with joy. I stood up and turned to my mother. “I think I’ll go sleep now. I feel tired.” As I turned to go upstairs I felt my eyelids getting heavy and starting to droop. I barely took two steps when I felt I collapsed. My eyes closed, with no strength to move I fell asleep. Maybe it was a good thing because I remember when I woke up I felt a warn hand on my cheek and those honey-gold eyes looking at my own brown eyes.
She smiled. “Good morning.”

Chapter 3
[Author's notes: I felt like giving the two a day together. Mmm, hope you like. Enjoy.]
Chapter three
I sat up in my bed. “I’m not dreaming am I?” She gave a small laugh. “No, I am very much here.” I turned to face Celia and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I let out a small yawn as I was still tired from my oversleeping. “When did you arrive here?” “Early this morning. The only one awake to let us enter was the maid of the house.” My head lowered in embarrassment from my inability to welcome my darling Celia at her arrival. “I have to apologize for not waking sooner.” Her eyes widened and she cupped my cheek in her gentle hand. “Your mother told me you had collapsed the morning before. There’s no need to apologize to me. It was more than enough for me to watch your sleeping form.” I leaned in close and gave my sweet a quick kiss and watched as her face turned a bright shade of pink. A laugh escaped my lips as I watched her fumbling with words to say.
After fidgeting with her fingers she finally said, “You never told me about yourself. I’m sure I am not your only interest.” I gave her a sly smirk as I said, “I never really paid any attention to what you said about yourself.” Her cheeks puffed up as she tried to appear angry. “As far as I know your only interest could be sleeping and myself.” “Well, if that were true I’d prefer you.” I sighed and continued. “It’s not that I enjoy sleeping the day away. It’s almost like nothing else matters. I’m certain there’s something wrong with me.” She came closer to me and rested her hand on my thigh. “If there is, I hardly noticed.”
At that moment I leapt out of my bed and stood behind her. I wrapped my arms around her beautiful frame and said, “Thank you.” A mischievous thought crossed my mind and I felt it was my duty to carry it out. I lowered my head and placed a kiss on her left temple. To her surprise I grabbed both her arms and pinned her onto my bed from behind. She let out an adorable shriek. “What are you doing?” I heard her say between laughs. “Just some harmless fun.” I teased. I sent random kissed down her neck and heard her laughter continue.
After a while she ceased to laugh. I let go of her arms. In a deep whisper she said, “Kiss me.” “What do you think I was doing?” I asked. “No.” She turned around so we were face to face. “Kiss me.” Slowly my head lowered to hers and I touch her lips with mine. The kiss deepened when I parted my lips. She reached her arm behind my head and pulled us tighter together. Her tongue found mine and they swirled together in harmony. I broke the kiss when I felt I no longer had any air to continue. It was there, when Celia and I were panting for air that I could help but stare into those mesmerizing eyes. The redness of her face only complimented them further. “You have beautiful eyes.” I heard myself unconsciously say. Pushing a strand of hair behind my ear she said, “I like yours more.” “Why? Brown is common. They are not as unique as yours.” Her smile returned. “Your “common” brown eyes have a lot of heart in them. That’s what I love about them.” “I thought you just liked them.” “I changed my mind.” My forehead rested on hers and I smiled. “You are something else.”
As I was anticipating for the longest, a knock was heard at my door. “Come in.” It was Eva who had opened the door. I was still on top on Celia and Eva saw this. “My apologies for interrupting the fun but you baths are ready.” As quick as she came she left. “Baths?” I said confused. “Ah yes. Since it was so early in the morning when I arrived here I had not bothered to take a bath at home and when I heard you were still sleeping I said I wanted to take one with you when you arose. I wanted to become more acquainted with my new friend.” My face clearly showed surprised as I said, “Celia, you are a sly one.”
I put my arm around Celia’s waist and walked with her to the wash room. Since it would be the two of us bathing I took her to the grand wash room. When I opened the door it revealed an enourmous tub filled with a vast amount of water. There was a relatively large mirror hanging on the wall opposite the tub. Two chairs were placed in the middle of the room which towels hung from each and clothes in the seats.
I started to remove my gown when two hands were placed on my shoulders. “Let me.” She whispered. Her hands started at my shoulders and pulled down on the fabric. I could feel her hands slowly pull the fabric down past my breasts and stopped when they reached my hips. She put her hands in the sleeves of my gown and wrapped her arms around my stomach. “Your skin is very pale, like the queen herself. “ Her fingers traced patterns on my stomach through the fabric of the gown. “Can I add color to it?” She let the gown fall to my feet and starting sending teasing kisses across my shoulders. My breathing became rigid when I felt her teeth tracing my flesh. I let out a moan and she stopped. “Maybe after our bath.” She said.
I turned around to find her already undressed. Her light tan skin glowed in the sunlight, illuminating her gorgeous eyes. I took her hand and led her to the tub where I climbed in the warm water first. Extending a hand to her I asked, “Are you going to get inside?” Celia just sat at the edge of the tub staring at me. I sighed and said, “We could do this forever.” She chuckled as she said, “By that time you would be a prune.” “Then let us not let that happen. I take pride in my non prune form.” Finally Celia accepted my hand joined me in the water.
“Come here.” I said. She came closer to me and lay on top of my body. I rested my head on her shoulder and we both closed our eyes. We stayed like that. Then that all too familiar feeling appeared and my closed eyes then served their purpose. I dreamt I was lying in the soft grass with Celia under the shade of a great oak. The sunlight shone through the leaves giving off spotted glimmers of light under the tree. I dreamt I fell asleep watching her play with the grass.
When I awoke I noticed I was still in the tub with Celia. She turned her head around to look at me. “I was wondering when you would wake up.” She gave a fake sigh and said, “Sadly you will have to take back your pride for we have both turned to prunes.” “What time is it?” I asked. “I’m not sure but it is passed dark.” Saying that she moved to the other end of the tub as if she knew what would happen next. I jumped out of the tub with such force I nearly fell flat on my face if not for the chair holding my towel. Quickly wrapping my body with the towel I looked back at Celia in the tub. “Why didn’t you leave the tub when it has gotten so late?” “And leave you to turn into a prune by yourself? I think not!” I sighed in defeat. “Alright, just get dry or I’ll really get worried.” “As you wish your majesty.” she said in a playful voice.
I smiled as this was near the end of the first day of the month Celia will be staying here.
We both walked down the stairs to the dinner table to find the absence of both out mothers. “Now that I have thought about it, I haven’t seen mine or your mother this whole day.” “Of course not, you were with me the whole time or did you forget? Did you not like my company that much?” Celia pretended to pout after her sentence. “Mmm, that would explain their absence.” Overhearing our conversation Eva walked in with two warm bowls of beef stew and said, “Dinner had been over a while ago. Both ladies went upstairs to retire for the night which both of you should have done.” I blushed furiously as it was embarrassing to be scolded by my own maid. On the other side of the table light chuckles could be heard coming from Celia. “What’s to be laughing about?” “Your blush is so cute.” she said still chuckling.
We walked upstairs and reached my chamber. I turned to Celia and said “The guest rooms are down the corridor.” pointing a little ways down. “I wish not to sleep alone.” Celia said. “I was hoping you would say that.” I replied.
I opened the door and we both got under the covers of my bed and turned to face each other. I took her hand in mine and kissed it. “Good night.” My eyes closed as this wondrous day ended.
[End notes: Well, tell me what you think. :)]
Chapter 4
[Author's notes: Yeah.]
Chapter four
I stirred in my bed and became aware of my surroundings. My mind wandered to last night, to the moments just before the dreams consumed me. Celia and I lay face to face, staring in each others eyes. I took her hand in mine and whispered my good night. She moved closer to me and laid her head in the crook of my neck. I felt the warmth of her breath traveling down my skin. It sent shivers down my spine but also was enough to lull me into a blissful sleep. We fell asleep in each others arms.
The warmth I felt that night was gone. Afraid my lovely Celia had left I frantically opened my eyes and turned my head to find her on the other side of the bed. She was laying down with her head against her arm staring right into my eyes. I sat up and let out a sigh of relief. “I thought you had gone.” Her eyes hardened at the mentioning of my words. “I rather drink a vial of poison then shorten my stay.” Her eyes softened as she began to speak again. “I enjoy my time with you. All my happy days combined could not compare to what I feel now. I-I’m not going to leave so soon.” She cast her gaze downwards and her cheeks began to fill with the most beautiful pink I have ever seen.
I stepped out of my bed and quickly slipped my shoes on. I walk up to Celia and extended my hand to her. “Come with me.” She grabbed my hand and once she had her shoes I led us both down stairs and out through the back door of the estate. Our feet picked up into a run as we headed into the woods. The wind blew through our hair as we ran deeper into the vast surrounding of trees. Our feet continued to go on until our lungs screamed desperately for air. I felt my legs give in as I fell taking Celia with me into a pile of leaves. As she landed on top of me we both began to laugh. “Care to enlighten me as to why we are here?” In truth, I did it on impulse. A thought crossed my mind and I had to carry it out. I suppose I should think things out before I act on it. “Are you going to tell me or not?” I lifted my head up and stole a kiss from the ever so lovely Celia. Our lips slowly broke apart and I began to speak. “To tell the truth I have no clue why we are here.” “You mean to tell me that you brought me here because of some impulse of yours? I may be something else but you are not of this earth.” I pretended to be angry with her words. I turned my head to the side and refused to meet her gaze. My brows furrowed and I tried to keep that face for the longest.
Celia leaned in a started to kiss the flesh of my neck. Her hot breath on my exposed skin felt like fire and I tried to resist. It was an endless struggle to see who would become the victor. My hands reached up and grabbed her shoulders. With a little more forced I managed to flip us over so now Celia faced me from the ground. A large smile appeared on my face and I jumped off of my beloved and dashed deeper in the woods. I turned my head to see Celia lying on the ground with a look of surprise on her face. My head turned to face forward and I head her footsteps start to chase after me.
I continued to go on until I saw a cave up ahead. I stopped just in front of the entrance and peered inside. I was caught off guard when I felt a weight leap onto me, pushing me to the ground. The wind left my lungs and I laid there in a daze. “It was not kind of you to leave me behind!” Her voice sounded too cute and I just smiled at her complaints.
In the distance the clacking of a horses foot steps could be heard. I heard horses coming from both sides and saw they were both pulling carriages. Knowing it wouldn’t be a good idea to be seen Celia took my hand and hid us both behind a large boulder. We peered out form behind the rock to see both carriages stop in front of the cave. The drivers climbed down and opened to door to let out a man from each carriage. They met in the middle and shook hands.
One of the men then began to speak. “Did you find one?” The other man then spoke. “What exactly was I to find?” “You know very well of what I speak of! Now did you or did you not find someone to do the deed?” “Ah yes, the deed shall be done in a months time. Our man needs time to plan out the assassination.” The first man who appeared taller reached behind and pulled a dagger from his backside. He let his arm stay there and continued on with the second shorter man. “Did you pay him?” “Mmm I most certainly did. Speaking of payment, may I partake in mine?” “Seeing as the deal in set in stone and the plan is in motion there is no need for you anymore.” Just before finishing his sentence the taller man raised his hand and brought the dagger down on the shorter man. Before the dagger made contact with flesh the smaller man grabbed the taller’s arm stopping the blow. “To think I put my trust in you Manuel.” With his free arm the one named Manuel clenched his fist and pounded into the smaller’s stomach. “Marcus, you were but a fool, a pawn. That crown is mine and no man is going to stop me.” Holding onto his stomach Marcus looked up to meet his fate with the end of a dagger. A splash of blood flew in every direction. With the dagger seeping deep into his eye Marcus gave out a short groan and fell to the ground. On his last breath Marcus cursed Manuel. “You won’t last long Manuel. I hope to see you in hell soon.” A pool of blood poured onto the earth as the dead Marcus lay there.
A moan escaped the lips of Marcus’ driver as he met the ground at the hands of Manuel’s driver. “Terses, I want you to take the bodies elsewhere. I will drive the fool’s carriage back to town. No one must hear of this.” The men headed off and parted ways.
My body was paralyzed with fear at the witness of the events that took place. I kneeled down next to Celia and felt the tears stream down my face. “Did that really hap…did that really happen?” I stared at the pools of blood left behind at let it all sink in. Getting home was the first thing on my mind. “Celia, we’re leaving.” She grabbed my hand and in between tears I heard her say, “I can’t bear to be here any longer.”
She squeezed my hand and we both took off from the cave we hid in. Our paced never slowed, afraid of what might happen if we stopped. Trying to outrun the wind our feet trekked faster and faster. It wasn’t until the estate was in sight that we slowed down a bit. We reached the back door and hastily turned the knob to enter. Eva met us at the other side of the door and a look of surprise appeared on her face.
“What happened to the two of you? You look like you’ve seen a ghost by the look on your faces.” It felt like my throat was closed because no words could come out of my mouth. Then I heard Celia speak up. “We went to take a walk in the woods but we saw a snake fall from a tree above. We were so scared by the serpent we ran the way here.” “The woods are dangerous! I’m glad you two made it back safely. Many people go missing or get killed in the woods.” “I think we won’t be going back anytime soon.” said Celia. She took my hand again and led us back to my chamber.
At the sight of my bed I jumped on and clenched onto the covers. I let worries spill out and began to cry an ocean of tears. I felt Celia get on the bed and rest her head on my shoulder. She wasn’t crying. She was being brave for the both of us, I could tell because even though no tears came her eyes were telling me different. My eyes shut and I concentrated on my breathing. Who was that man named Manuel? I felt my speech return to me. “That man, Manuel, mentioned the crown. Is he planning on assassinating the king?” Celia’s voice betrayed her as she whispered back to me. “I’m afraid he might be.” Her hand met my shoulder and squeezed it tight.
The day had already passed into night and Celia and I just lay there. Would anyone believe us if we tried to warn the king of the assassination? In their eyes we would just be seen as two crazy women making up stories. I was scared.
“Promise me you won’t think about it. Promise me you won’t think about what happened today. At least not until you go back home. It might sound selfish of me but I want to see you smiling for the rest of your stay. I don’t want to see that blank look on your face. I want to see your gorgeous smile and your cute blush. I want to see you happy. So promise me, please.” I bit my lip and tried to hold back the tears. A small smile graced her lips. “You’ll have to promise me to stop your crying then.” I thought I wouldn’t be able to laugh after today but I found myself chuckling at her agreement.
She came closer to me and wrapped her arms around my frame. My head rested above her breasts and my breathing matched hers. I could hear the beat of her heart. It was soothing to my ear. I felt warmth growing in my stomach as we stayed in that position. Her hand pushed my hair back and she kissed my forehead.
From heaven I received a gift.
An angel wrapped in love.
A heart pure as gold.
Eyes made of sun.
This angle was mine.
Her fingers laced through mine. Just before my drowsiness took over I whispered to my lovely Celia.
“I think I have fallen for an angel.”
[End notes: Well hear's how it went down. I was waiting at the doctor's for the miracle needle when he finally came back. Just when he was about to inject the stuff in me mother nature rams through the door, knocking it off its hinges. Mr. Doctor and mother nature had an all out battle right in front of me. Mother nature came out as the victor after she succeeded in suffocating the doctor with a latex glove. When he fell to the floor she jabbed her hand into his chest and ripped out his heart. It was then that she gave the bloody gift to me. That's how it went down so I'm really sorry about not updating sooner. Chapter Five
My eyes met cold darkness. Body screaming for nourishment, I sat up slowly. My mind was in a haze. I felt the warmth of Celia’s hand in mine own. Looking down at where our hands met under the cloak of darkness I smiled at the thought. I sat there for a while listening to my love breath. If it were not for the pang in my stomach from lack of food, I would have sat there till the time my darling awoke. My hand left hers and I instantly felt the cold air take her warmth away from my hand. Quietly I stood up and walked to my door. I opened the door softly and took a glance in the dark where Celia would be and closed it with all caution.
Downstairs, in the kitchen I made a meal of bread and cheese. Standing in the empty darkness felt absolutely calming. Closing my eyes I listened to the sounds of the night. The rustling of leaves and whirling of the wind was my nightly lullaby. With the moonlight guiding my way, I made a short walk to the main doorway. The towering frame gave off the sense of protection. I leaned in and pressed my ear against the wooden solid. I could hear the ghostly whispers of night that sent shivers down my spine. Lifting my head, I let my hand linger on the smooth surface and watched as the moonlight made my shadow into a colossal figure. The decorative window pane cast the shadows of angels next to the figure. I thought of how fitting that scene was. I walked over to the decorative angels and peered outside. The moonlight lit the trees lining the courtyard leaving frightening shadows in its path.
Three dusk figures emerged from the terrifying shadows. I made no effort to move as they slowly paced their way to my angels. In a seconds time the glass was shattered and shards flew passed me. Streams of crimson trickled down my face and the taste of iron was strong. Blackness overtook my vision except for the faint glimmer of light. The light grew to an enormous size and blinded me with an overwhelming brightness. It was unbearable. I was beginning to think the blinding light would stay there forever until all of it was replaced by a gray sky. On my back, my whole body felt heavy as if stone. There was no air filling my lungs. My vision was becoming spotted. I could feel a grainy texture filling my palms. Sand? Moving my fingers to feel the sand I realized I was holding my breath. Letting the air rush out, I slowly began to inhale the salt filled air. Only one reasonable thought came to mind. I was near the sea. Rising to my knees I saw that I was very much near the sea. On my feet I trudged towards the water. My eyes focused on a figure sprawled out on the shoreline. Walking for a minute’s time the figure became clear to me. It was an angel.
Its wings were cut in half in a ridged manner. The upper half of its body floated in the water. A pool of blood had seeped into the water and surrounded the angel. Its chest had been pierced leaving a gaping hole barely covered by its left hand. As I looked where its legs were I saw why it had not drifted into the sea. Both of them were staked into the ground. The wounds still spilled blood as its body moved with the waves. I fell to my knees and brought my hand to its face. Tears rimmed my eyes. “Surely it must be dead.” I said in inaudible whisper. As if to prove me wrong its eyes fluttered open. Its mouth opened and it spoke. “This angel can not die.” Moving its head to face the sky it spoke again. “Adan can not die.” Adan? Might it be a male’s name? I shook my head at the thought. We all know angels are neither male nor female. I stared into its beautiful gray eyes and watched as the angel was gradually consumed by the earth. “So you are right.”
Opening my eyes I found I was lying on the marble floor. I stood up and realized I was right in front of that glass pane that shattered in my dreams. Looking outside I saw that the sky was still covered in black. I must not have dreamt for long. As I reflected back on my dream I couldn’t help but to wonder what part was made up. I walked back upstairs as the thought still lingered in my mind. I reached my chamber and rested my hand on the handle. My very own angel was resting inside. Fingers tracing patterns on the handle I hesitated on seeing her. I very much did want to Celia but my legs ached with a new found energy. It would not be fair to wake my beauty from my inability to keep still and with a sigh I left my spot to wander the corridors.
My steps were light as I walked passed door after door in a leisurely manner. With each step memories from yesterday’s events flooded my mind. Desperately I tried to distract my thoughts with another subject but the bloody havoc of the day before would not cease. My eyes began to water until I began to think about the promise. How do I expect her to smile if I can not smile for her with these horrid thoughts occupying my mind? “Ah, such a complicated world.” I started to sing in my mind to keep those thoughts at bay.
I continued my walk and found that I had become very relaxed. Little yawns escaped my lips and I was about to return to my chamber until I heard a faint noise coming from a little ways down. Walking in the direction of the noise I discovered the origin of the sound. I found the sound was emanating from my mother’s chamber. Loud quick breaths could be heard from outside the door. “Helena.” A feminine voice called my mother’s name from behind the door. “Mmm-ah!” “Shh, not so loud Montse.” My heartbeat quickened as I knew what was happening behind that closed door. My foot steps were soft as I distanced myself from that area. Hand on my chest I turned my head in that direction. “Mother and Lady Montse?” I whispered aloud. I thought about it for a moment. A smirk plastered my face. “Very well, that makes two.”
My feet made their way back to my corridor. Pulling the handle slowly I walked in quietly and carefully closed the door behind me. In the moonlight I could see that Celia was sitting up in my bed. “You were not here. I was just about to look for you.” I could see her lips form into a smile as she spoke. Taking small steps I sat next to her. “I might have gotten up because I was hungry but I’m not saying that was the truth.” Celia tried to suppress a laugh as she spoke again. “I should have thought it was something like that.” “Well so to speak, I am not hungry any more.” “Well I am starving.” “Then why not go eat?” “Ah…thank you.” The space between us was gone as her lips met mine. I melted into the contact and began to kiss her back. Her arms pushed me down as she climbed on top of my body. I broke the kiss to say something ridiculous. “I thought you were hungry.” “Liere, you’ve got to be the funniest girl I know.” She rested her head on my shoulder. “You ought to know that you are very warm.” I heard Celia said in a whisper. “I think the same of you.” My reply was met with silence. Her shallow breathing told me she fell asleep.
We both fell asleep in that position I would soon blame for my neck pain in the later morning.
[End notes: Sorry for the wait. I lost my flash drive for the longest time just to realize I left it at my mother's house. Then some family reunion stuff and once again mother nature came back for another match. She was taunting me as I tried to get through the pain to type. As a said before, five miserable hours typing this. I punched mother nature in the face for my sorrow.]
