Title: Chapter 1 - Murder

"What a quiet night..." The King of Yukonevia, Martemis Grand Maxemillion XII, muttered to himself. Every one in his loving country should have been in bed. No lights were to be seen. It was always the country's darkest hour. The King's most trusted people, were his knights. Made of both male, and females. Martemis rested on the silk sheets of his large, king sized bed. He had brown hair, that was long and wavy. He also had both a beard and mustache. He had kind brown eyes, to match along with his beard, mustache, and hair. He was in his mid 40's, and had a charming personality. Something about this night, felt uneasy to Martemis. He didn't know what it was, but it made him feel uncomfortable.

Martemis covered himself with his long, red blanket. He took a deep breath, before slowly closing his eyes. A shady figure appeared next to the bed. An evil grin crossing his lips. His tongue trailed along side the blade, that appeared to be in his right hand. "Good night dear king... This shall be your final resting place." the voice was hoarse, and sounded between a man and a cat. Martemis' eyes opened, as he quickly stood up. "Bye Bye.~" The evil grin widened as the blade pierced the king's skin. "U-Ugh!" Martemis grimaced. The blade stabbed at the king's chest, crimson staining the blade and the area around it. Martemis' body was now lifeless. It lay limp in the bed of red silk. The dark figure began to laugh insanely, disappearing into the night.

"King Martemis, I'm bringing up your breakfast." A female voice called out. The female was one of the King's maids, known to clean the castle from morning, to night. Her name was Ilyana. This maid was very special, and unique. She was heterochromiac. Her left eye was a light shade of green. Her right eye being a strange shade of yellow. She had blond hair, that had red tips. Standing a short 4'11", and weighing at a light 95 lbs. Ilyana was the bride of the king's most trusted knight. Shin Kusiyaka.

"King Martemis? Are you awake?" Ilyana questioned, her head against the wooden door of the King's chamber. No answer. "...King Martemis?" Ilyana pushed the door open. Her eyes widened at the sight. The king dead, sprawled across the silk sheets. "Ahhh!" she screamed, dropping the tray of food. She began to cry, collapsing into the ground. "K-King Martemis!" she yelled, crawling towards him. She grabbed onto his leg and began to shake him. "King Martemis! King Martemis!!" the body, lifeless and limp, did not move. Other maids ran up towards the long fleet of stairs, yelling to Ilyana about what's going on in the King's chamber. Each maid that entered the chamber began to panic, screaming and yelling.

Ilyana rushed out of the King's chamber, hurrying to the court yard. "Shin! Shin!" she yelled. Shin was in the Knight's head quarters, until Shin had heard screaming. Ilyana ran into the head quarters, collapsing into Shin's arms. Ilyana grabbed the knight's helmet, removing it carefully. Long, silky black hair fell onto shoulders. Peach colored skin, and gorgeous, ocean blue eyes staring down at Ilyana. "Ilyana, my love, what has happened? You're sweating, and you look so very pale..." Ilyana placed her slim fingers onto Shin's peach colored cheek. "King... King Martemis... You must hurry to him. I'm afraid... I-I'm afraid... It's.. It's too late..."

All the knights looked at Ilyana, shocked to what they were hearing. "What?!" They all screamed in unison. Shin's eyes widened, standing up, carrying Ilyana along with her. Shin stood a nice 5'6" and weighed 114 lbs. "It... Well... This can't be." Shin rushed out of the head quarters, with Ilyana in her arms. Running up the large amount of stairs, Shin froze at the door to the King's chamber. There, in the bed of red silk, lay the body of the King. Ilyana was set onto the ground, Shin slowly dropping to her knees. Tears streamed down her cheeks, as she slowly made her way to the King. "King... Martemis... What... Who... How..." The remaining knights entered the chamber, shocked at what they were seeing.

Shin turned to her fellow knights, tears still streaming down her cheeks. "He... He's gone. We failed our job to protect the man who is most important to us. How... are we to call each other knights?" Shin's fists hit the ground roughly, more and more tears eventually dripping off her chin. "God damn it!" she screamed.

Hours had passed since the finding of the King's death. A large, golden coffin rested in the dirt. Knights burying the coffin in the royal cemetery of the kings and queens before them. King Martemis being buried next to his wife, Queen Fileka. Shin's eyes grew empty, watching the coffin disappear within the dirt. Ilyana's arm wrapped around Shin's waist, and her head resting against Shin's back. Behind the knights, were the towns men and women. Children, animals, adults, who lived in the town. Every one watched as their beloved king was buried in the earth.

More hours had passed by. The knights stood in front of the throne. A male who looked to be in his early 20's sat in the throne. He had shaggy dirty blond hair, and brown eyes. He examined the knights with ease, till he gently smiled. "You are now my knights. My father... was a wonderful man. His death was too early. You knights should know why. My own father was murdered." The knights looked at each other, then back at the Prince, the king's son. "I already know who did it." Shin took one step forward, and bowed to the Prince. "If you know who it is, arrest the man or woman." The prince laughed, and shook his head. "No need to worry, Honorary knight Shin. You shouldn't hide it. I know you were the one who murdered my father."

The knights looked at Shin in shock. "S-Shin?!" Shin looked at her fellow knights, then back at the Prince miserably. "M-Me? I know it wasn't me... I would never harm the man who raised me." Shin protested. The prince shook his head, and licked his lips. "I know you entered my father's chamber, and stabbed him with a dagger. You are guilty. Your punishment... is banishment. Take your belongings, and be gone by sun rise." Shin couldn't believe it. She, the King's most trusted knight, or... the dead king's most trusted knight, is being banished. The prince stood up, and smirked. "I'll be heading to bed... I'm waiting for the maids to wash my father's blankets and sheets. I'm to sleep in his room tonight, you know." The prince left the room, heading up the stairs towards his new chamber.

The knights looked at Shin with sad expressions. Shin turned to them, looking at them all. "You... can't believe the Prince... can you? You guys know me! King Martemis raised me... He was like my own father. Why would I kill the man who I would protect my own life with?" The knights turned their backs, shaking their heads. "We can't trust a murderer." one knight spoke. Shin felt a sudden stab in her heart. Her own comrades, were betraying her. One knight looked at her, taking her hands into her own. "Shin... I can only help you. I can't prove your innocence. I would never believe you killing the man who was closest thing to a father you will ever have." The female knight gave Shin a comforting hug, and then turned around and left the room.

Ilyana was in the kitchen, washing the dishes. Still horrified by what she had seen, and heard. She had over heard the whole conversation between her lover, and the Prince. Shin carefully entered the room, standing a few feet away from Ilyana. "Ilyana... I... You heard... didn't you?" Ilyana only nodded. "I'm sorry, my love. I can't take you with me... You must stay here." Ilyana froze, and then turned her head. Her eyes were red, and puffy. "You expect me to stay here in this hell hole, without you?" Shin blinked, not surprised with Ilyana's reply.

"Wouldn't you get hurt? I wouldn't forgive myself if anything ever happened to you..." Ilyana set the dishes down, and dried her hands off with her apron. "Now, why would you think that? You're a knight after all. Banished or not, you're still the King's protector. I believe my life is safe in your hands." Shin smiled, lifting Ilyana off the ground. "You always say things that make everything all the better." Shin smirked laying Ilyana on the table. Ilyana blushed, giggling when Shin pressed her lips against her own. A passionate kiss between the two ended, when Shin's tongue ran down from Ilyana's lips, to her chin, to her neck, slightly sucking on it. Ilyana bit down on her bottom lip, not wanting to make any sound to her lover's actions.

Shin smiled, leaving butterfly kisses down to Ilyana's collar bone. Removing the apron, and lifting her lover's shirt up a bit, Ilyana squeaked as Shin groped her. "Isn't this quite the view?" a voice echoed through the kitchen. Shin growled, looking towards the stairs. There, stood the prince. His arms were folded and he had a perverted grin plastered on his face. "My, My. Dirtying my kitchen before leaving this country? Take that dirty rat with you. I've found myself a sexy enough maid to satisfy me." Shin glared at the prince, picking her lover up. Ilyana blushed, cuddling into Shin's neck, as her shoulders were exposed to the Prince. "I'm leaving, I'm leaving. I haven't a need to serve a snobby prince who will only ruin this beautiful country." Shin hissed, turning around and heading towards the court yard.

Shin was now at the Knight's headquarters, gathering her belongings. "Ilyana... Are you sure you want to come along with me?" Ilyana nodded. "Without you, my life isn't complete... If you weren't here, then I would rather die." Shin only smiled, kissing Ilyana just as passionately as she did before. Ilyana returned the kiss lovingly, the heat between the two rising once again. Shin broke the kiss off, and grabbed Ilyana's hand. "Let's go then, My love... It'll be sun rise in a few hours. By morning, we may have a few men on our tail if we're not over the border line."

Ilyana nodded and the two left the castle. They ran through the streets of the town, and hurried into the forest. It was almost sun rise. Both Ilyana and Shin still weren't close to the border line. Ilyana leaned against a tree, exhausted from all the running and walking she had to do. Shin was eating a fresh slice of bread, while resting on her lover. A low growl pierced the ears of Ilyana and Shin. Shin quickly stood up, bringing her silver sword out of it's sheath. "Who is it?" she said in a serious tone.

No answer.

A figure stood a few trees away. Hidden underneath a brown cape. "You... You are innocent, are you? I don't recall seeing someone like you killing the king." Shin blinked, her sword still pointing at the figure. "What the hell do you want?" The figure's grin was seen. "All I want to tell you is, if you want to find the real murderer and prove that you're not the murderer, travel. The real murderer has the most insane grin you'll ever see. Dirty brown hair. Muscular build. Always carries a dagger. That is all..." The figure suddenly disappeared.

Shin looked around, curious to where this figure had gone to. Ilyana looked up at Shin, frowning. "We have to prove your innocent. I worry about what will happen to our kingdom...Our... home." Shin nodded, sitting back down. "I do too. That is what we must do now... We must find the real murderer." Ilyana nodded, kissing Shin once again. Their serious moment, ruined with their sexual desires...

Meanwhile... Another shadowy figure appeared through the trees, watching their every movement...

[End notes: Ah! I just had an idea of this. I'm not sure if I did very good with the writing, but PLEASE leave reviews. I'm curious to whether I should continue this or not like my other stories. I have yet to type new chapters up for those.. Anyway, Thanks!]
