I feel the breeze in my hair, stroking it lightly, as if to put me to sleep. I fight the urge to sleep because I know if I do, I will never awaken. The pain of my wound is overpowering, alerting every nerve in my body. I feel my blood slowly flowing out of me, my life soon to be over. All I am able to do is watch the grey clouds emit drops of rain, as if the gods are trying to wipe my tears away.
Not an honorable death, no, not at all an honorable death for a samurai. The one who injured me is already dead, I have taken his life. If I had known that this would be his method of killing me I would have purposely lost to him. For any death surpasses the anguishing pain that I am feeling right now. As my will to fight slowly fades, I close my eyes awaiting my destiny, darkness.
Although consumed by darkness, there was a faint shine of light. I opened my eyes and was astonished to find a beautiful woman knelt besides me. Her skin was as porcelain, her hair luscious gold, and her eyes deep green. She gently cupped my face and seized my lips. I closed my eyes once again; the pain, the agony, the wound, all vanished. It all seemed to be absorbed into the kiss.
“Sleep so that you are well rested, my bride.” Her whisper made me quiver with delight. Although exhausted I had to know who this beautiful creature was.
“Who are you, my savior?” I gazed into those mysterious eyes, getting lost inside of them until she embraced me. The sensation of her touch was overpowering, it consumed my brain, and burned my face.
“I am the Goddess of Love, and I have chosen you to be my bride”
