Chapter 2

Title: Chapter 2a - It Really Was Your Mistake

[Author's notes: A/N: This is the first alternate ending to this fic, hence why I called it chapter 2a.

Warning: Character death ahead. This is a fairly dark chapter. ^^; Never realized that until now. Probably still some mild OOC-ness. My advance apologies if there is.]

 A Torn Heart
[Chapter 2a - It Really Was Your Mistake]

Ryoko opened her eyes slowly, last night's escapade still fresh in her mind. Her stomach cringed in regret as she wondered if last night had actually happened. No way, it couldn't have. Turning her head lazily, Ryoko looked at Aeka. The Jurian princess was still asleep next to her and she felt a sense of relief wash through her. Yawning, she shook Aeka lightly, feeling the need to make sure she was there. The princess sighed and opened her eyes slightly.

"Morning, sleepy-head." Ryoko said.

"Good morning." Aeka yawned.

Sitting up, Aeka stretched causing the blanket to fall down, revealing her bare breasts beneath. She got up and reluctantly pulled on her robe, before pausing to look over at Ryoko, who somehow seemed distant this particular morning.

"What's wrong?" Aeka asked, carefully.

"Nothing... I just hate to see you put that robe on." Ryoko lied.

"Don't worry. You can get rid of it later." She said, winking and leaving the room.

Ryoko watched the princess leave, feeling sad. In her mind, she replayed the night before. 'What was I thinking?,' she thought as she wondered if it had really happened.

Getting out of bed, she looked out the window almost expecting to see Kiyone out there. Of course, no one was there. She tried to shrug off the previous night, hoping that maybe it was all a dream. She pulled on a pair of denim capris and a blue long-sleeve shirt. Ryoko then made her way down to breakfast, which she could already smell cooking.

Mihoshi was already sitting at the table when Ryoko got there. The space pirate smiled briefly at the blonde before sitting. One by one, the household made their way to breakfast. Ryoko noticed that Kiyone was the last to come down. She noted that the bluenette seemed out of place that morning and also noted the side glances Kiyone kept sending her way. Ryoko ignored them, feeling anxious.

After breakfast, Ryoko decided to rest on a rafter in the house. Everyone had gone off to do different things, or at least that's what Ryoko thought as she slowly slipped into sleep in the quiet house. A noise beneath her stirred back from her almost sleep. Annoyed, she looked down and saw Kiyone below her. A strange feeling went through the space pirate as blue eyes met yellow ones. Her eyes then slowly moved up and down the other woman's body, which was wrapped in a thin and very revealing robe.

Before a word was breathed, Kiyone's robe fell to the floor. Her creamy white skin seemed to yell out for Ryoko's touch. The space pirate felt a familiar ache between her legs and hated her body's immediate reaction to the bluenette naked form. Without thinking, she hopped down from the rafter and stood in front of Kiyone. Their lips were inches apart for a split second before they actually met. Ryoko knew that she couldn't have dreamed of a kiss this good and she realized that last night really had happened. Before Ryoko could process anything more, Kiyone was pulling off her shirt. Kiyone moved her hands slowly over Ryoko's breasts, stomach, and sides. Her hands only paused slightly to pull down the pirate's capris. Ryoko stepped out of them and she could feel Kiyone lightly pushing her to the ground. Compling, the pirate laid on the floor, her heart pounding, suddenly scared. Moving her hands over Ryoko's body, Kiyone settled on gently massaged the pirate's breasts. Then tickled her sides as she moved her hands downwards softly, moving down until she was caressing Ryoko's thighs. Kiyone's lips touched the pirate's breasts softly before they moved down and lightly kissed her stomach. Ryoko moan softly at the light touches and kisses.

"Oh my!" A voice shouted from behind them.

Both Kiyone and Ryoko jumped to their feet at the sound of the voice. Aeka stood in the doorway, fury and pain flashing back and forth on her face. Her tears streamed down her face as she balled her fists as tightly as she could. Her whole body shook as badly as a leaf in a hurricane. Ryoko's heart sank all the way down to her feet as she watched Aeka. This wasn't going to be pretty in the least.

"Aeka, I can explained!" Ryoko started, though unsure as to what to say.

"Explain what!? That she tripped and fell into your pussy?" Aeka shouted. "H.. How could you,
Ryoko? I love you!"

"Miss Aeka, it wasn't her fault. It's all mine. I started it all and I'm sorry," Kiyone said, unaware of the true danger she was in by even speaking.

"Stay out of this you goddamn, sleazy bitch!"

"Aeka, calm down. Please, sweetheart, stop." Ryoko said, approaching her angry girlfriend and tried to place a hand on Aeka's shoulder.

"Don't touch me!"

>SMACK< Ryoko's face went pale from the slap. She watched Aeka stomp out of the house. Rubbing her cheek, Ryoko felt numb. Why had she let this happen? Ryoko tensed at Kiyone's touch.

"Go away."

Ryoko jerked away from her and phased herself into some clothes before heading outside to find Aeka. She didn't to have to look far when she spotted Aeka near the lake. The princess was on her knees, brawling her eyes out. It hurt Ryoko so much to see her like this. She tried to comfort the princess and apologize but Aeka wouldn't let her.

"I hate you! Do you know how much I sacrificed for you and you do this!? Leave me be."

"I never asked you sacrifice anything for me. You did that of your own free will." Ryoko said, angrily before pausing and sighing. "Listen, I'm sorry for what happened. It was an accident, do you hear? Just a horrible mistake. We all make mistakes."

"I can't believe you just said that. What was I to you all this time? A piece of ass? Is that what that woman is to you as well?"

"No. Aeka, that's not what I meant," Ryoko said and moved toward Aeka, but she moved away.

"Stay away from me, Ryoko."

"Please, stop acting like this, Aeka. I said I was sorry."

"Do you think 'sorry' is going to fix everything that happened? Will it make it magically disappear?"

"No. But it's a start."

"No. You are wrong. This is the end."

Ryoko hadn't noticed the small logs that had circled her. In a second, she felt sharp, painful blasts emit from them. Each hit left behind a deep cut and her blood dripped onto the grass. Crying, she blasted them away with several energy blasts. For those she missed, she leapt into the air, and out of their reach.

"Aeka! What are doing?"

"What I should've done before I loved you."

Several dozen more small logs surrounded Ryoko. These were more powerful than the first batch. A few direct hits left small holes through Ryoko. As she fought to get away from them, she saw Aeka watching her with a horrible smile on her lips. Then she saw a ball of energy form in her hands. Ryoko swore the blast was for her but when she saw Aeka raised her hands to her own chest, she knew it wasn't.

"Aeka, no!" Ryoko shouted, but it was too late.

Ryoko looked away as an explosion came from Aeka. She had put all her strength and energy into one blast to her heart. As Aeka fell to the ground, the demon blasted away all the small logs that were following her and rushed to the princess' side. The hole in Aeka's chest was huge and Ryoko almost puked. She could smell burnt flesh and blood all over Aeka.

"I'm so sorry, Aeka. I would've done anything to change what happened," Ryoko cried, clenching Aeka's body to hers.

She couldn't feel any life in Aeka and she was terrified for the first time in her life. The space pirate had lost the one person that meant the most to her. It was all too much for Ryoko to handle. With a final glance at Aeka's cold and dead body, she called for Ryo-ohki. The little cabbit appeared at her side almost instantly.

"It's time to go, Ryo-ohki."

"Meow?"

"No, you can't bring any carrots with you! Now let's go."

"Meow," Ryo-ohki said sadly.

Ryoko collected the cabbit in her hands and threw her into the air. Meowing, the small creature turned into a huge spaceship. Beaming Ryoko aboard, they left as quickly as possible. Never to come back.

The End?

[End notes: End A/N: I had thought about maybe continuing this ending in a separate fic back when I first wrote it, but that was so long ago that I doubt I can do it now. v.v Kind of sad, but it can't be helped.
