Chapter 2

Title: A sleepless Dream; Chapter 9

[Author's notes: I offically have Tereya's theme song.

Ouuto means out]

At school, the first thing I did was find Tereya. “Um, Tereya?” She whipped around to face me. “What, you over grown mongrel?” I flinched. Her insults weren’t as they usually were. Normally, they were more wittier than that… “Um, Saturday, did you, um…” she made a face. “Did I what?” She sounded like she was going to bite me. “Um… the concert…” She walked over to me and made her self so close, her breath reminded me of spring; faintly warm with a sweet smell. “You wanna know if I went to your stupid over-rated, child-like, noise-making, tip-of-the-dunghill show? Well, no. I didn’t.” I didn’t know what to say to that… exactly. At least her insults were up again. “Mutt,” I swallowed, expecting her to run to the nearest adult and tell that I busted her necklace. “Tell me, was that bunny more than just an acquaintance? Or was she just a friend who you just so happened to get kiss from? Or is UsagiRita like that to everyone?” I jumped away from her. “Don’t you dare talk about Sasami like that!” She moved closer. “Oh? Why not? Does it bother you? Mutt, just for reference, I’m going to personally ruin your life. Love,” She kissed my lips. “Tereya.” She then whipped around and walked out of the room.

What… WAS that? She was completely contradicting herself in every way possible. She was just making fun at me, then kissed me, and said she didn’t go, then basically said that she watched Sasami kiss me.

WHAT THE HELL?!

…Why did she kiss me anyway? Maybe she was mocking Sasami, but if that were the case, wouldn’t she of kissed my cheek? This girl confused the crap out of me, along with the rest of my inner contents.
Especially my heart…
For first period, I had my head-phones on. (Thank god for my hair or they’d be seen. One time, I even hid the plastic bulky ones, not the really big one’s but- well, some of you know what I’m talking about.) I sat there mouthing words, and felt like a moron when I got caught because the teacher called on me and I was writing and mouthing lyrics. I was listening to “Letter from a thief” by Chevelle. Before that I was listening to “Black ink Revenge” by Automatic Loveletter. The teacher confiscated my ipod and said he’d give it back at the end of the day. If he saw it again, he’d call my parents: The usual confiscating rules. I sighed and handed it over. “And I wonder why your stupid…” I head the cat behind me mumble. “Shut up, Tereya.” I mumbled back. Our teacher’s ears twitched. “Both of you, lunch in the guidance counselor office.” Tereya’s jaw dropped. “Your kidding right?” He shook his head. You’ve both been doing this for a while now, so I think you both should talk about whatever it is that’s making you both fight. Surely it can be resolved.” Right. Just tell everyone I’m gonna have to marry a girl, then get married, then we can live a happy life with an evil litter.
Sure. We can resolve that.
“Um, actually, we were just getting over it, er well… You know how in Fruits Basket, Yuki and Kyo are always fighting? Well, that’s kind of their way of bonding, and that’s kind of ours. So, were good, really!” He raised an eyebrow at me. “Right. Well you both can tell the guidance counselor at lunch.” Tereya raised her hand. “What if I already have my own personal psychiatrist?” Wouldn’t surprise me. “Then maybe you should see him or her too.” He turned around and went to the front of my room. Tereya scowled at him. I turned around to face her. “So do you really have your own? A psychiatrist, I mean.” She looked at me. “It allows me to vent and to actually pay attention in class, unlike some smelly animals.” Um, right? Who was the one saying that if she closed her eyes, I smelled good? I just nodded and turned back around. “What no reply?” I guess she was one of the people where if you ignored them, they got pissed. I wonder…

EXPERIMENT TIME!
Step one: ignore Tereya.
Step two: Follow step one thoroughly.
Step three: Follow step one until something interesting happens, or until she says something so out of bounds, you have to reply; Her usual insults don’t count!

I continued to ignore her. She scoffed at me. “Fine. It’s better not to have to listen to your annoying voice any way.” She continued to work.

At lunch, we went to the guidance counselor’s office after getting what we were going to eat. Before that I saw Sasami. “Sami-chan!” I called to her. “Huh? Oh! Urusai! Um, about the concert and stuff..” Uh-oh. “Um, I’m sorry, I didn’t know you, uh…” huh? What was she talking about? “Huh? Sami, what are you talking about?” She shook her head and ran off, calling over her shoulder, “It won’t happen again, I promise! Sorry!” Then disappeared down the hallway. Huh? Why did I have the biggest feeling in my gut Tereya said something to her?

I got my lunch and walked with Tereya to the office. She sat down and crossed her legs and started humming. It sounded like that new Flyleaf song… What was it… “Okay, so it’s Tereya and Urusai, right? Okay, what’s up?” I looked at her and she was daintily munching on a piece of her lunch while still humming. “Urusai, would you like to start?” I shook my head. “…Truthfully, I don’t know what the problem is…” She looked at Tereya, who was still doing the same thing as when I looked at her. “Tereya?” She looked up at the teacher and stopped humming. “Hm?” She sighed. “So neither of you two know why you’re fighting? It’s just because?” I nodded while Tereya chewed thoughtfully on her food. “Urusai, mom want’s you over this weekend because I have to baby-sit my two cousins and she would like it if there were at least two of us. The oldest, the one you’ve met, is doing something or other with her parents, so they want me to watch them.” The teacher looked back and fourth between us. “So, you two do stuff like that on a regular basis? Yet you still fight like that?” She looked at me a bit perplexed. All I could do was shrug. “How old are they?” We were talking, but we weren’t exactly talking to each other. Wait- crap. I would have to wait before I could execute the experiment.
One of us would look up and say something while the other looked somewhere else, then the other would reply as the one who had previously talked did something else besides look at the one talking. “One of them is eight, while the other one is about eight-month’s, so you can see why mom wants both of us there.” I munched on what was supposed to be food, but with school lunches, they could feed us bleached person, and flay it up and call it fish and no one would be able to tell you any different.

“I don’t want you killing my baby cousin, so you can watch the eight year old. He’s very hyper, so you should be fine.” I looked up at her. “What’s that supposed to mean?” The guidance counselor was just watching us now. “Nothing. You just always seem to be a bit rambunctious is all. I just thought maybe you two would wear each other out.” I tried not to yell at her about being the devil’s incarnate because a teacher was there. “…Right.”
“The only time I’ll need you to watch both of them is when I’m cooking something for us to eat.” Why did I get the feeling she meant only for her and she’d give me mushed up, moldy left-over’s from twenty days ago? I nodded, not really daring to do anything else. “I’ll try to get the baby to sleep before then, so you’d only have to keep the eight-year-old quiet. His name’s Keith while the baby’s name is Tana.”
“Wait, where will your parent’s be?” She bit into something else that was supposed to be food and made a face and set it back down. “Their also going out.” I nodded. I had wanted to ask her about Sasami, but the teacher was intently listening. She wasn’t even trying to be discrete. “Um… Tereya… About Sasami… I saw her a minute ago, and I was wondering if you talked to her…” She eyed the last bit of her lunch, probably wondering what it was supposed to be. “Wait, UsagiRita Sasami?” I nodded. “And if I did?”
“Well… Could you tell me what you said?” She looked at me and made a face that basically said the lunch was food fit for a god compared to me. “Yes.” I looked at her. “Oh…” Yes, as in, I can tell you, but won’t. The teacher leaned back a little.

“It seems to me like you guys have a master-servant relationship.” We both looked at her. “Let me guess,” I said. “I’m the servant?” She nodded. “If you were a boy, I could say more about the situation, but because your not, I’m a little confused. This normally doesn’t happen between girls unless blackmail is involved somehow,” Bingo. “Or, unless there is another reason. A more personal thing.” Bingo had a twin, did you know that? It’s name is “Bingo”. Tereya just shrugged. “And? I don’t see a problem. If you do, then YOUR going to have to do something about it. Not me.” It took a lot of guts for someone to say that to a teacher. I would of used a different word besides “guts”, but Tereya was quite famine. The teacher just eyed her. “Right.” Tereya started to hum again as she got up to trash her lunch. She had barely touched it. “They basically expect us to eat garbage. That stuff is so disgusting.” The guidance counselor made a bit of a sad face. “Well, they have to feed the entire student body, Tereya. They don’t have time to sit there and make it look pretty.” Tereya turned and opened her mouth to say something. “They could at least add a bit of salt. A little’s not gonna kill anyone.” Her open mouth turned to a smirk. “Exactly. Or some actual hot sauce too. That gross stuff that you put on taco’s doesn’t do well with chicken.” I nodded. “And did you ever notice the pepper on the peas? They can do that but not salt?” She walked over to me and took my lunch and trashed it, and I let her. I usually didn’t eat it anyway. “If their so stressed for time, make the school day longer around lunch. It wouldn’t kill anybody.” I nodded. “Classes would be a bit longer, but if you think about it in the long run, wouldn’t all that extra time go to our summer vacation?” She nodded furiously. “If their gonna make us go here, they should at least make meals decent. I bet even if I was by myself in there, I’d make better food. It wouldn’t taste like cardboard.” I put my hand up. “Hey, cardboard with some salt would be okay by me.” I caught her pursing her lips and trying not to laugh. She was very cute when we got along. “Well you both are good at agreeing on complaints.” Her smile faded the instant the teacher opened her mouth. It was like a glass had just shattered and revealed the real Tereya behind it, or the fake one. I wasn’t sure.

Tereya rolled her eyes. “I went to an all girls school once and the food was better there- mind you, it had no taste, but at least you knew what it was.” She looked at the clock. “I’m going before the bell rings.” I got up to follow her, but was stopped short. “Urusai.” The teacher grabbed my arm. I watched Tereya walk out of the office. “Can I talk really quickly to you?” I nodded. It better be quick. Short and sweet, extra sweet because talking with Tereya like that put me in a good mood. “She isn’t holding anything over your head is she? If she is, you know you can tell me.” I shook my head. “Nope. Nothing. I’m all good.” She eyed me. “Are you sure?” I nodded. “Yup. Can I go to class now?” She looked at me, then asked me one more thing. “Urusai, why exactly do you stay around her if you two don’t get along?”
“I… Well…” My mind drew a blank. “…Can I… Get back to you on that one?” She looked at me thoughtfully, then nodded. I walked out and surprisingly, Tereya was waiting for me. “So, what’d the old bat want to talk to you about.” She wasn’t insulting her. She WAS old and she WAS a bat. It was just like saying “What’d the baby turkey want to talk to you about?” Well, almost. (I think I’m still hungry because I have no idea why I said “Turkey” out of all the animal’s I could of picked from.) I shrugged. “Nothing much. Just wanted to know why I was around you all the time when we fight like crazy.” She eyed me and then nodded. “Your coming over this weekend and I don’t know when they’ll be back, so you should pack a bag and just go home with me. It’s be easier that way.” She stated it so matter-o’-factly that I wanted to argue. She said I “was”, not “will you” or anything along the lines of asking. Just “Your coming and that’s that”. I looked at her. “You like to cook don’t you?”

She looked at me with a weird face like I had just asked her to sniff my dead pets butt- after I dig it up. “Where’d that come from?” I shook my head. “You usually bring your own lunches, and when I was over at your house, you helped out with dinner, plus you said you’d make it this weekend. You like to cook don’t you?” I repeated. She looked at me then nodded. “Yeah. I probably make better stuff than you do.”
“I bet you do. I can’t even make toast right while my brother is training to be a chief. Go figure.” She was quiet for a minute, then said, in a very normal voice, not her usual, “I’m the hotter version of medusa” or “The daughter of the devil” or “Bitches rule, bitch!” voice. It was almost kind. “It’s not that hard. If you some how manage to get the eight year-old asleep when I make dinner, maybe I’ll show you how to make something.” I almost tripped over myself. “R-Really? You mean it?” She gave me a smirk. “IF you can get Keith to sleep. It’s not as easy as it sounds.” I had to force my feet to keep moving or I would of stopped right then and there in the hallway. Dear god, if I had to run around in circles with that kid to get him to sleep, so BE IT!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think I anticipated this about as much as I did with my almost-date with Sasami. I thought about tons of things to do with the kid that would tire him out. A lot of them were outside because the sun takes up quiet a bit of your energy. I prayed every day that week for it not to rain on that day. It could flood for all I cared as long as it was dry that day. Tereya seemed like her usual bitchy self all week. Like our one little agreement was about the size of a dust speck on her life.
Saturday was it’s usual half-day, and the only day of the week that we were allowed to wear regular clothes. Courtesy of the new student council prez. He was cool like that. As long as they still fit school regulations and such, it was cool. If not, you got suspended for not being a responsible student, or something like that. Either way, Tereya looked very cute today. I didn’t have any periods with her today, so I had to wait until the end of the day to see her.
She had her hair pulled back in a pony-tail that stuck out of a baseball cap. She let a small amount of her hair on the left side not go into the pony-tail and stay out of the hat, like bangs that were a bit longer than the rest. It looked really cute. She had long jean-shorts on that looked like they should of belonged to a boy and a white t-shirt with a blue collar that made her chest look good. She also had running sneakers and ankle socks on. I had on a pair of ripped jeans and a black shirt with skulls on it. The back around the shoulder blades read “The zombies want your skull, not your brain, so stop whining about being retarded after the zombie invasion” that went down to around the top of my lower back. It also had a picture of a little ripped up emo-voodoo looking doll in the corner with stuffing coming out of it’s head, like the zombies had went after it. There was even a small trail of stuffing that lead off of the shirt. It was awesome and I wanted it the second I saw it. I also had on a black leather band that snapped onto my wrist and black and white sneakers. Tereya saw me and just looked me up and down. “What are you wearing?”
“Um, clothes?” She gawffed. “Could of fooled me.” And started walking. “You look like a murder with that duffle bag.” I shrugged. “I like the shirt.” She looked back over her shoulder to look at me. “Um, I’m not just talking about the shirt. The jeans say that you were in a fight with the person you killed and the shirt say you did it, and the duffle bag says that your going to burry her.” I walked a bit faster to walk next to her. “Maybe you’re my next victim. It’s my revenge for your cruel treatment of me.” She rolled her eyes. “Right. Because I’d let you get close enough to me to kill me. If anything, I’d kill you.” I made my shoulder bump her’s to show that I was close enough to kill her. She stomped on my foot as hard as she could and kept walking. A notice escaped my lips that may as well of been a guy’s when his jewels get hit. After a while, I limped over to her. “Do that again and I wont be able to walk. You DO want me to occupy Keith right?” She made a face like she was going to say something back, then stopped. “Just keep walking, mutt.”
“Did I ever tell you I was a pureblood, not a mutt? Could of sworn I did…”
“Well, even if you did, I don’t care. I don’t even care now, mutt.” …Right. We walked all the way to her house, although it would have been easier to go to mine and get my bike. “You do this every day?” I was a dead-beat and I hadn’t even meet the kid yet! She nodded. “Keeps my in shape and not fat and blob-like.” I nodded as I put my hands on my knee to breath. “You gonna make it? I’d hate to have to watch three kids all by my self.”
“Thanks Tereya, but I’m fine.” She didn’t even take a second look at me as she turned to walk into the house. “Good. Let’s go mutt.” The second she opened the door, she got attacked by a little cat with silver ear. He hand light-brown curly hair and green eyes that looked like the color of a glow stick. “Tery!” He yelled, hugging her waist. She smiled and crouched down to him. “Hi, Keith. How’ve you been?” He gave her a big smile with some missing teeth. “She? I wast un!” He said, pointing to his mouth. I pretty sure he said “See? I lost one” talking about his teeth. “How’d you lose this one?” He smiled at her again. “I fell off the monkey bars when I was upside down.” Her face went pale and her smile dropped. I pretty sure that’s not what she meant by “how’d you lose this one”, but hey. I stood up. “Oh, yeah?” He looked at me. “Yeah. Tery, who’s that?” She looked at me, probably wanting me to introduce myself.
“I’m Urusai. Nice to meet you. I’ll be watching you with “Tery”.” She made a face at me, saying I wasn’t allowed to call her that. He looked at me while still clinging to Tereya. “Did you ever lose a tooth falling off of the money-bars?” I shook my head. “No. But I made myself go so high up on the swing I fell out and lost one.” I pulled my mouth back a little and pointed to my tooth next to my canine- the one closer to the front of my mouth. “It grew back, as you can see.” His eyes got big. “Did it hurt? My mouth bleed, did your’s?” He let go of Tereya and was now at my waist, looking up at me. “Funny thing,” I said, scratching my face a bit. “It got pushed up into my mouth, so I had to go to the doctors.” And it hurt like hell when they yanked it, too. I screamed the whole time and punched a nurse in the nose. They had to tie me down because I was “Endangering their well-fare”. That nurse probably took pleasure in watching me get my tooth ripped out. Either way, the kid’s eyes were saucers. “Did you lose any others like that?” A lot actually… Now that I thought about it, I’m pretty reckless. I nodded and back away, making him stay. “I lost one doing this.” I did a back-flip and landed on my feet. His eyes were huge and a smile slowly inched onto his face. “My brother was teaching me how to do it on cement, like the smart gut that he is. “Oh, you won’t get hurt. You’ll be fine”, Liar!” He laughed. Tereya rolled her eyes and went inside. “Keith are you thirsty?” She called to him. Can’t help but notice how I walked all the way here with her and she didn’t offer me to even come inside yet alone a drink. “Yea!” He called back. “What would you like?” She asked, hanging out of the window. “Mmmm…” He though, then looked at me. “Whatever Uri’s having!” Uri? I would of choked on my spit if I had any left. She looked at me and gave me a sarcastic smile. “And what would you like to drink, “Uri”?” I made a face. “Water’s fine.” She gave me another sarcastic smile, then disappeared into the kitchen.
I heard a gentle voice call from inside the house. “Keith? Are you outside with Tereya?” A woman carrying a baby on her hip came to the screen door. “Oh, hello. Are you a friend of Tereya’s?” I nodded, feeling like a dumb guy in front of a hot girl.
She had long, light-brown hair that went past her butt and curled up at the bottom. Her eyes were warm and green, with a little bit of bangs to hide them. She had a simple yellow sun dress on with a straw sun hat with a yellow band around it. (Like on the little women posters, for those of you who’ve seen them.) She looked like a really cute country girl. “Are you the one she said was going to help her watch Keith and Tana?” I looked at the baby in her arms which was Tana. She was blowing nose-bubbles and was swatting at the screen. She was long for a baby (yeah, long, not tall) and was in a pink one-sy. She had a little bit of curly, light brown hair on her head. Tana’s mom looked down at Tana probably because I was staring at her blow snot bubbles. “Oh, shoot! Carmelo! Tissue!” Oh, yeah, he was European. And very hot. I watched him skirt by to grab a tissue. He had blonde, short, curly hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a white dress shirt and a thin tie with a pair of dress pants. He quickly came back and handed it to her. “Sorry.” She shook her head and planted a kiss on his cheek. “It’s fine. You don’t need to apologize.”
“A-dup!” Tana said. She started whining when her mom went to clean her nose, but other than that, she was fine. Tereya said excuse me and came out with two cups of water. “Here Keith.” He took the cup from her very carefully. “Don’t spill it okay?” He nodded. “Tereya is this your friend who’s going to help you watch Keith and Tana?” She looked at Tana’s mom and nodded, sipping the water. I was assuming I’d have to get my own. Tana and Keith’s dad waved us inside, then disappeared down the hallway. She gave me a warm smile, then said, “Yes, you should come in. Then we can all introduce ourselves properly.” I let Keith walk in front of me into the house. He was sipping water and was grabbing the back of Tereya’s shirt. “Keith, walk then drink your water. Your going to spill it or bump into someone.” Tereya scolded. She sounded like his mother. She walked into the living room and set the glass down and plopped her butt down on the couch. Tana and Keith’s mom was sitting next to Carmelo with Tana on her lap. “Aunt Anna, Urusai. Urusai, this is my aunt, Anna.” You didn’t say it “Ana”. You said her name “An-na” or “An-nah”. Anna smiled at me. I couldn’t help but eye the floor. She laughed a little at me. “Do I make you nervous?” I looked up at her. Sort of. “Um, kinda… I think you’re really pretty by the way…” She game me a smile made out of pure honey and I melted. It wasn’t like a “OMG I hope she’s a loli because I like her so much”. It was more like a “OMG please adopt me because your so awesomely pretty, even though you a cat and I’m a dog!”, type thing.
“This is my uncle Carmelo. Anna?” Anna turned to Carmelo and said something to him I didn’t understand. He nodded to me. “Carmelo doesn’t speak Japanese all that well, but he’s trying. He knows French and German though.” He looked a little awkward, sitting there. “Anna knows French, so she usually tells him what we say.” Anna was holding hands with Carmelo. Tana growled. “Ra! Ra!” I smiled at her. She started shouting at me and laughing. She smacked her mom’s leg. Anna smiled at me then waved me over. “Do you have any younger siblings?” I shook my head and sat on the other side of her. “No. Just an older brother.” Tana grabbed for my face. “Ah, no! Tana!” Carmelo said something to Tana in French. (I was assuming French, anyway.) Tana giggled and said “Di-da! Yiee! Mm-ga!” I couldn’t help but laugh. “Your so cute, Tana.” Anna smiled at me and relayed the message to Carmelo. “Thank you.” He said. I smiled. “Can I hold Tana?” Anna nodded and handed me the baby. Keith came and sat in-between me and Tereya. Tereya’s mom came in with lemonade for everyone, followed by Tereya’s dad. “Thank you.” Keith took his and giggled. I raised an eyebrow at me. He leaned towards me and whispered, “It looks like pee!” If I wasn’t so thirsty, I might of not drank it. I hurried up and drank it. “Well, it taste like lemons.” He looked at his drink and giggled. Tana tried to grab for the cup and yelled “A-dee-ee!” Anna smiled at Tana. “She likes to get into everything, so please keep an eye on her.” I nodded. “Tana crawls funny!” Keith said. “She uses on leg and drags the other!” I looked at the little girl and laughed. “Really?” He nodded, sipping his yellow drink. “Tana’s funny too. If someone’s yelling or talking loud, she’ll do it too!” Tana laughed as I bounced her on my knee. “We should do THAT with Tana before we go.” Tereya’s mom said. Tereya nodded. “Yeah. That’s always fun.” Keith slouched. “Your only saying that because you get her to laugh the most, making you win.” I looked at Anna. She smiled. “A contest, or so to say. You have to pick a song and dance with Tana to it. The more she laughs, or the louder she laughs, then you win.” Tereya’s mom shuffled off, and Tereya said she was getting the laptop.
She came back with it open and was using one hand to hold it, while the other was typing. “Okay, who’s first- besides last times winner? The winner’s always last.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was last- besides Tereya. Anna had danced for Tana and then swiped her up and bounced with her to a song. Keith bounced like a bounce house with her to a punky sounding song by a girl on the couch, then lifted her up in the air and brought her back down. Carmelo didn’t participate, while Tereya’s mom and dad trio-ed it up with her. I had no clue what song I wanted to dance with Tana to, so they made an exception and let Tereya go. At first, I though she typed on “Tana”, but taking a double take, I realized it was “Kana”. After that, she typed in “Picnic”. She picked up Tana and started a weird bouncy-march. “I’ve heard this! It’s by Kana. No clue what her last name is.” I said, making Tereya look at me like I was dumb. Her look read, “Well, duh, it’s by kana. You watched me type it in”. Was basically what she was saying. On the sneezy sounding part, Tereya pretended to sneeze, which got some laugh’s from Tana. Tereya sang in an extra high-voice, “I was waiting for ju a long time. Awa-tiz-mi, awa-tiz-mi, Awa-tiz-mi, awa-tiz-mi! Deko, deko-no, uso kuro wa,” I couldn’t help but smile a little. She would be a good mom. Even in front of me she was acting silly to make Tana laugh. Tereya’s mom leaned towards me. “She’s good with kids, right?” I nodded. I felt Keith cling to my arm while watching Tereya. “Tery’s gonna win, again…” He mumbled. I patted his head. “I’ll do my best. Ganbate, right?” He looked at me then nodded. “What song are you gonna do?” I shrugged. “I was thinking DenKaren.” He looked at me and nodded like he knew who I was talking about. When Tereya was done, Tana was still giggling, and started crying when she was handed to me. “Oh, Tana!” I cried. I sat her on my lap. “A no-no-no-no-no!” I clapped my hands on each no. “A no-no-no-no-no!” She stopped and looked at me like I was a little slow. I went to a music site and typed in “DenKaren, Vampire” I clicked it and I wa greeted with a fanfare of vampire sounding music. Now your probably have never heard vampire sounding music, but if you want to hear some, this takes the cake, the table it’s on, and then the room it’s in. I danced with Tana and whenever she would try to hit my face- she did that with everyone, then just put her hand down- I pretended to bite her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I think Uri won.” Keith said. They had been debating for about five minutes now about who won. “Um, don’t you all have to be somewhere?” I asked. They ignored me and continued their verbal skirmish. “No, I think Tereya got the most laugh’s.” Tereya’s dad said. Carmelo said something and Anna relayed it to us. “He still says Urusai got her to laugh the most. I’m still undecided.” Anna was the one who could break the tie, but she couldn’t tell, and Tana was getting so bored, she was falling asleep against Tereya’s chest. Tereya was rocking from side to side with her. “Mom! Uri made Tana laugh the most! Not Tereya AGAIN!” Tana fussed, and Tereya put her finger to her lips and glared at him. She continued rocking Tana. I sighed and got up. “Yo guys have to be somewhere. Go, or I’ll vote for Tereya.” Keith shook his head fast. “No, Uri! Mom could make it a tie, if you do that!” He hissed. “A tie it is then. Look, you guys are gonna be late. Go, go.” I grabbed Anna by her arm and pulled her off of the couch. I used my other hand to grab Tereya’s mom. “Go, go! *Ouuto!” I pushed them out the front door. Anna giggled at me a bit. I blushed and looked at the floor. I wasn’t used to being laughed at in a nice way. It was weird… “Alright.” Tereya’s mom said. They hurried up and got their final things ready, then left.
I sighed and sat on the kitchen counter. “Off the counter!” Tereya yelled at me so loud I jumped off. She glared at me, then went into the fridge. “Go entertain Keith. I got Tana.” I nodded and went to find Keith. He was outside with a soccer ball. He was bouncing it on his knee, then his forehead. I made seal noises and he jumped and dropped the ball. I gave him a smile, then stole his soccer ball. “Hey!” I shot him a smile and ran acrossed the field. “My goal’s over there, your’s is right, here! GOAL!” He pouted. “No fair!” I smiled and kicked him the soccer ball. He made a pouty face, then smiled back. “Fine! I’m the best soccer player at school. Watch, I’ll beat you!” I raised an eyebrow. “Well I’m so good at all sports, once I change, I play with the boys.” He gave me a look, but then started dribbling the soccer ball away from me. We went inside for a drink with a score of 29 to 32. I let him win the 32. Some of them though, he got on his own. He’s good at faking a shot, too. I would love to seriously play the kid when he’s older or something. “Water?” He shook his head. “Lemonade.” I nodded and poured him a glass. “Tana, please stop crying! You do this whenever mommy leaves!” I looked at Keith. “Tery has a hard time getting Tana to sleep.” I handed him the drink. We both chugged it down with one gulp. “Alright. It’s getting dark. Let’s have Tery start dinner.” He nodded. “I’m hungry!” I went into the living room. “Want me to hold her? It’s getting late and Keith just said he was hungry.” He nodded. She sighed. “I’m trying to get her to go to sleep and she keeps crying and pushing away her bottle.” I nodded and took her. “I got her. You go make dinner before the kid starts eating the couch.” She looked at me with wide eyes, then let out a faint smile as she got up to leave. Keith looked at me as I sat down with Tana. “Tery likes you.” I shushed Tana and held her hands to give her the bottle. Nii-chan had always said I’d push the bottle away even though I wanted it. Tana did the same thing. I smiled at her. “Oh, really?”
“Yeah. She usually doesn’t smile at dogs. She hates them actually.” I nodded. “I figured that much.” Keith watched as I gently traced my finger down her nose and she blinked, eventually taking longer to open them, then left them closed. “Go see if Tery needs help, okay? And tell her I got Tana to sleep.” He nodded and bounced off of the couch. I sighed and leaned back with Tana. She fused a little, but stayed a sleep. Tereya came back in. “There’s no way you-” She let her eyes get a little wide. “How…?” I smiled and put my finger to my lips. “When their tired, their fussy, so even if they want their bottle, they’ll push it away.” She stayed silent and just watched Tana sleep on me. Keith pulled the back of her shirt. “Tery. I’m hungry.”
“Let him do a lot. It’ll help ware him out.” She blinked, like she was getting out of a daze but nodded and walked away with Keith.
I was woken up to Tereya gently shaking my shoulder, only because she didn’t want to wake Tana. “Time to eat, mutt.” She said quietly. I shook my head to wake up and gently put Tana down in her play-pen. She didn’t wake up. I went into the kitchen to salad and Italian. Keith was already stuffing his face. Tereya sighed, agitated, and put her hands on her hips. “Didn’t I tell you to wait?” He slouched down in his chair. “Sorry… I was hungry…” I sat down. “Don’t be mad at him. He ran around for who knows how long outside, and then had to wait for the food. Lasagna takes a long time to make.” She sat down, too. “Whatever. He could of waited a few more seconds. Itadakimasu.” The food looked really good, although, I was probably gonna have a hard time telling her that.
“Itadakimasu.” I started with the salad, so I wouldn’t stuff my face with the lasagna. Keith didn’t have a problem with stuffing his face at all. I put Italian on my salad. Keith was done first, so he said he’d quietly watch TV in the living room, which left me and Tereya alone at the dinner table. It was awkward. “I-It’s good…” She looked up at me, then returned her gaze back to her meal. “…Better than that school crap.” A small smile appeared on her pink lips. I smiled too. “WAY better. And you can actually taste the cheese.” She nodded and bit the food on her fork. “I bet even your crap would be better than this.” Now that I think about it… “If Keith’s still sleeping in the morning, can you show me how to make pancakes or something? You kind of said you would…” I bit my fork with no food on it. Just hope you tired him out enough.” Oh, dear god, Keith stay asleep for the morning! I nodded.
When we were done, I did dishes and Tereya put the food away. We then went into the living room to check on Tana and Keith. They were both asleep.
I put a blanked over Keith. He had fallen asleep on the couch, so that meant I’d have to sleep in Tereya’s room. I followed her up the stairs and then sat on her bed while she went to the bathroom to change. I grabbed my duffle bag out of a corner of her room and changed really quickly, then sat on her bed again. I was in a tank top and sweat pants. She came back and asked me, “What are you doing?” I looked up at her. “Sitting on your bed. Where do you want me to sleep? The floor?” She glared at me as I slid to the floor. She sat on her bed, then buried her self under the covers. “Your gonna make my floor decemvirate.” I sighed and got up. “What am I supposed to sleep standing up?” I leaned against the wall. She glared at me. “No thank you, I don’t need an extra doorway.” I looked at the ceiling, and she gave me a “really, dumb-ass?” look. I sighed. “Okay, so where do you want me to sleep? On the living room floor?”
“And have my parents come back and see that? Know how bad that’d make me look? Nuh-uh.” I sighed and scratched the back of my head. “Well, where do you want me to sleep, then?” From her nose down was covered, but I could still tell she was blushing. She didn’t say anything, but turned over. Wait- she didn’t say I COULDN’T sleep in her bed, she just asked what was I do in it.
…So… Did she want me to…? I plopped down on her bed and wrapped my arms around her. “H-Hey! What are you-?”
“You didn’t say I couldn’t sleep in your bed with you.” I heard a little high-pitched gasp. “L-Look, just don’t go being a yuri or whatever…” I moved the blankets so I could get under them, then wrapped my arms around her. It was quiet for a minute, and I could feel her breathing heavy and her pulse race. “So, um… A-About UsagiRita…” I used my elbow to prop myself up. “Sasami? What about her?” She turned to me, which made her kind of burry her face in my chest a little. Her tight looking t-shirt and capree night-pants twisted around her stomach and hips and her shirt was a bit jacked up. “So, why’d she kiss you…?” I blushed at remembering our kiss-fest in the bathroom. Thank god Tereya hadn’t seen THAT or she’d literally kill me- wait, why? “I’ll tell you as long as you promise to tell me why you got so mad about it- Honestly, not those lame-o excuses.” She blushed, but nodded. She curled up into a ball, and her face was buried in my stomach. I blushed. “…Because… Because… She has no right to do that…”
“And you do? You kissed my lips, remember?” I heard her hic/gasp. “I-I just… Well, I… Your not answering my question, either!” She gripped my shirt and looked up at me. Her face was bright red. “Tereya, do you feel like you have the right?” She clenched my shirt and squeezed her eyes shut to yell at me. “B-baka! Answer MY question now!”
“Tereya,” I cupped her chin in my hand and kissed her. She did her hic/gasp thing again, but then oddly, kissed me back. “Your MINE. I basically own you because of what you did… UsagiRita doesn’t… I do.” My arms were around her back, and she was on top of me a bit. Her chest was pushing against me a bit and I wanted to die. “Now tell me why she kissed you, mutt.” I looked at her, then replied, “It was kind of a “congratulations” kiss… I didn’t know that she was going to do that in front of everyone, but… You went right? How come?” She buried her face in my collar bone. She pulled my shirt down a bit, then licked my chest on the left side (my left). “W-Wha…?”
“…Gomenasai… I hurt your heart didn’t I? By always being mean to you…” I blushed. “I went to see you. I like music a lot, but truthfully, I’m nervous in front of a crowd that big. The class was fine, but… I couldn’t of done that in front of a crowd that big… I wanted to see how good you were in front of a big crowd with actual music…” I waited, but she didn’t say anymore. “So what’d you think?” She looked up at me. “You said it was a “congrats” kiss right?” huh? I nodded. She kissed me. She did it for so long I had time to mentally freak out, then count for how long she did it for. Over 7 seconds. “…Yo-You were great…” She then got off and turned over to go to bed.
“…Tereya…?”
“Hm?”
“Do you dislike me?” She turned back around and buried her face in the area above my chest. “No… But I don’t exactly like you either…”
…That’s perfectly fine by me.
