It was a bright sunny day for everyone in the Yagami High School. It was a great day for most students to have chat and lunch with each other.  Some of them were talking about love and their crushes. They enjoyed their time having fun together. However, one woman wasn’t in the mood to have chat, lunch, or lunch with anyone. In fact, she was crying. Her heart was shattered into pieces. And who broke her heart? It was none other than her long-time love.

Tsukamoto Tenma couldn’t believe that her long-time crush Karasuma Ooji rejected her and her feelings, causing her precious heart to break. She was finally able to confess her passionate feelings for him before saying “I love you” directly to him. However, despite the confession and those three special words, the stoic boy dumped her. To break Tenma’s heart even further, Karasuma told her that he was in love with another woman, and that woman happened to be one of Tenma’s friends. Her heart was shattered and she broke down in tears. She was so upset that she couldn’t talk to anyone and she spent the rest of the day crying.

The students of 2-C were having a great lunch. Most of them were talking with each other while eating. Harima Kenji was busy inking his manga pages and Hanai Haruki was observing his classmates to see if some of them, mostly the male ones, were doing inappropriate actions, such as doing something perverted. Four students of 2-D, Harry MacKenzie, Tougou Masakazu, Lala Gonzalez, Tennouji Noboru, were all in the classroom talking with the other students.

Meanwhile, Sawachika Eri, Suou Mikoto, and Takano Akira were wondering where their friend Tenma went. They were sitting while eating their home-made sushi rolls as they discussed about her.

“I wonder where Tenma-chan went…”  Mikoto said as she began to eat one of her sushi roll.

“Must be busy finding a way on how to confess her feelings for Karasuma…” Akira presumed before eating her sushi roll.

“Or maybe she forgot to bring her lunch again and had to find her sister to get some food.” Eri presumed with a mocking tone. Recently, Tenma had forgotten to bring her lunch and lucky for her, her sister Tsukamoto Yakumo always brought some extra food. The two girls agreed with the blonde-haired woman without reluctance.

Suddenly, the door of the classroom opened and an innocent girl with a lunch box showed up to the class. This caused everyone, especially Harima, to look at her. She was Yakumo, and Hanai was so happy to see her.

“Konnichiwa, everyone.” the shy girl greeted them.

“Yakumo-chan, I am so glad to see you!!!” Hanai shouted in excitement as he ran to hug his love, even though they were not in the same school year. Fortunately for Yakumo, Tougou grabbed Hanai before he could put his hands on her.

“Calm down Hanai! That’s no way for a man like you to greet a very kind and sweet girl!” Tougou said, trying to tighten his grip on Hanai. Seconds later, everyone continued chatting and eating as Harima continued inking the rest of the manga pages.

As Yakumo looked around, she didn’t see her neesan. She then approached her sister’s friends. “Where’s Tenma?” she asked as she gave her sister’s lunch box to Eri.

“She hasn’t returned yet,” Mikoto answered before eating another sushi roll, “I wonder where she has been. She hasn’t come back yet for several minutes.”

“Well someone better go find her before she does anything stupid.” Akira suggested, not waiting for her friend’s return. They were all getting worried about her.

Eri was done eating her lunch and gratefully insisted on searching for their less-attractive friend as she stood up. “I’ll go find her.”

The three girls were surprised when Eri insisted finding Tenma for them. “It’s better for me to look for her than just sitting here waiting for her.” she continued.

“Thank you very much, Eri.” Yakumo thanked happily her before bowing slightly.

“Don’t worry, I’ll return with her quickly.” Eri replied with a smile. She then left the classroom in search of her classmate.

Few seconds later, Yakumo also left the classroom as Hanai attempted to hug her but to no avail because Tougou grabbed him again. “Why can’t you control yourself and your love for her?!” Tougou grouched while tightening his grip on Hanai harder.

If Harima heard the four girls’ discussion regarding Tenma, he would also search for her, but since he was too occupied with his manga, he didn’t hear them. “Rats! I’m out of ink again!” the ex-delinquent uttered angrily. He should have brought a spare jar of ink.

After putting his unfinished manga works inside his bag, some big delinquent approached him. “HARIMA!!!” Tennouji shouted directly at his face which angered him and caused him to stand up.

“What the heck do you want now, you stupid gorilla?!” Harima replied with great anger as he was glaring daggers at his rival’s ugly face.

“Let’s settle this once and for all!” Tennouji responded as he readied his fists and went into a fighting stance. This did not sit too well with the students in the classroom. Those who were near those two street fighters backed away immediately from them in hopes of not getting injured or beaten in the middle of their brawl. It was obvious for them that the two boys were going to take the fight inside the classroom.

“Right here, right now!” Tennouji was so impatient that he decided to fight with him inside the classroom of 2-C. Harima was so much mad that he wanted to kill him instead of just beating him. He had to go back to his delinquent ways for a while so that he could get this big guy out of his life.

“I’m gonna make you regret for making me mad!” Harima readied his fists and went into his fighting stance as well. “LET’S GET IN ON!”

In just less than seven seconds, Tennouji was annihilated face down by Harima, beaten into a pulp. “Ha! Next time, do NOT make me mad again!” Harima said as he put his right foot down on the fallen delinquent’s head. Everyone was totally frightened from what they had seen but immediately, they calmed down and returned to their activities.

“How pathetic!” Harry said disappointingly, shaking his head. Seeing one of his classmates failing to beat Harima made him unpleased.

“Where the heck did that girl go?” Eri muttered to herself. She had been searching for her for several minutes and yet she wasn’t able to get a trace of her. She asked several students of her whereabouts but none of them knew about it. Eri began to think that Tenma was lost but immediately realized that the pig-tailed woman was unlikely to get lost, as she knew all of the rooms and places of the school building very well.

“If Tenma isn’t in the building, then…” she then thought that Tenma was outside of the school premises. She headed outside and went to a nearby park where there were numerous Sakura cherry trees with cherry blossoms blooming everywhere; a park where Tenma and her friends frequently went.

As Eri went to the park, she heard a sob, and sound of the sob was familiar to her. “Was that… Tenma?” she asked herself. She wasn’t sure enough if that was Tenma but as she proceeded, she was certain that it was her. Suddenly, something came inside of her. She felt strange with it and then she realized that it was sadness.

“Why am I so… sad about Tenma crying?” Eri couldn’t tell the reason herself. Nonetheless, she continued on searching for her friend.

A few steps later Eri finally found Tenma who was sitting under a tree still crying. When she looked at her, her sadness got bigger, yet she couldn’t tell why this was happening to her and she didn’t understand it.

“Tenma-chan…” Eri shyly called Tenma as she walked towards her. The black-haired woman heard her name being called and looked at her blonde-haired friend approaching.

“Eri-chan…” Tenma mumbled with her teary face. When Eri stopped for a bit, her sadness became more prominent and it had formed an expression on her face. She then sat on her friend’s left side.

“Tenma-chan, what’s wrong?” Eri asked Tenma dearly. She wrapped an arm across her back and placed a hand on her shoulder. Tenma reacted a little to Eri’s touch but with it, she was able to stop crying. However, she was still sobbing. She moved closer to her older friend until her head leaned on her shoulder.

“Tenma-chan, please tell me why are you crying?” Eri asked her once more.

It was very difficult for Tenma to tell such a reason to someone, even to a friend like Eri. She rubbed the tears off her face before speaking. “It’s… It’s Karasuma-kun…”

“What about Karasuma?” When she heard her former crush’s name, she thought that something bad had happened to him, which was, in her mind, likely the reason.

“He… He…” Tenma couldn’t say the reason as she closed her eyes tightly with tears streaming down her cheeks. She didn’t want to remember it that terrible moment. However, it took three seconds for her to have the courage to say it to her. “Karasuma-kun… rejected me!”

This put a great shock on Eri. She couldn’t believe it. She didn’t think that a guy like Karasuma would do something to hurt her. Tenma had loved Karasuma for a long time but after all the times they had, it was all for nothing. Her long-delevoped feelings for him had been crushed. And after that heart-breaking moment, she didn’t know what to do or where to go from here.

“Why did Karasuma reject you?” She asked with a bit of an angry tone. She received no response from Tenma except hearing her crying again. She realized her anger could hurt her even more.

Eri sighed silently. “Why did Karasuma reject you?” she asked her again, this time gently so as to avoid hurting her further.

“He was… He was… in love with another girl!” Tenma said with more tears streaming down her face. Eri couldn’t handle this kind of situation. Seeing one of her friends getting hurt made her uncomfortable.

“Please tell me Tenma-chan,” Eri tightened her hand on Tenma’s shoulder as she wrapped another arm around her, “who was the girl Karasuma in love with?”

“He was in love with one of our friends, Akira Takano.” Eri was again surprised. She didn’t think that her brown-haired stoic friend would attract someone like Karasuma. Akira and Karasuma were both stoic and seemingly emotionless students. Tenma rubbed her tears off her face again with her arm. She calmed herself down and she was fine for now.
