Chapter Fifteen - Meeting evil

Boiling hot would describe the days’s weather right from the very start. Pawa was baking under the broiling sun, adding to everything else that was going on. The bright sun masked the darkness in people’s thoughts.

The morning had dragged by like someone pulling a two ton boulder around on their back, that feeling was helped by the sun that seemed to sap the strength from even the strongest of people. The past two days had not helped either, as the mood of the camp was not a real cheerful one.

Olivia had just returned to Mandy and the girls of her cabin from a one-on-one with the Camp’s boss. That was more than a little strange to the younger councilor of the two, considering all of the senior councilors had just ended a meeting earlier.. and this one had taken up an hour for her partner to come back..

Mandy was curious to why Miss Ashfield had called only Olivia back so soon after the meeting, it was strange... but not unusual either.  She already understood that Olivia was the longest serving councilor that was at Pawa
“ Your not going to tell me anything on just why Miss Ashfield asked for you to meet with her again... right?” Half jokingly yet half seriously asked Mandy.
“ I am not going to say a word about it.... I can’t at the moment.” Said the woman plainly.
“ I figured that you wouldn’t... or couldn’t” Sighed Mandy.

Olivia turned her head and flashed a curious type of smirk at the young gal who had surprised her. She put a hand on her hip, as she pondered the younger woman.
“ If you knew that I would not say anything about my meeting...Why did you ask me in the first place?” The woman asked, with a hint of an approaching giggle fit that was held just behind her words
“ Guess you can say that I just felt like it...” Giggled Mandy back, with a impish grin as she understood the woman’s silence
“ You felt like it?” Said the woman, her giggled now were almost not able to be held back.
“ Yeah...” Mandy Smirked. “ I felt like it.”

The woman straightened up a little and looked at Mandy. The woman’s body then started to shake, then trembled before she all of a sudden burst out laughing.
“ Well, I guess that is a good  reason as any to ask a question like that...” Olivia chuckled.
“ I thought it was a hell of a good reason.” Cheekily said the smaller girl, through her own fit of giggling that seemed to release some of the days tension in her.
“ Being a tad ‘nosy’ might be the better word for your question...” Giggled the short haired lady.
“ Maybe... but I’ll stick to me reason.” Laughed Mandy, seeing that Olivia was getting a huge laugh out of this.

The head Councilor of Cabin Nine just watched her young friend laugh for a moment or two, and seemed to be almost relishing the musical sound.
“ Since you being such a comedian today... you can just laugh yourself down to the boathouse and pick up some life-vests for the safety demonstration we are having to give out girls in the swimming area.” Smirked Olivia, her own fit of laughter coming as little more freer than it had been.
“ Is that my job?  Fetching everything for you, when you want?” She asked with a giggle still in her voice
“ Seeing as you are one of the new Councilors on the block here...” The lady started, chuckling now out of control. “ I’d say that would be a very big ‘yes’ to the many tasks under my command....”
“ Meanie!!” Playfully pouted Mandy, as she turned and headed off to do her duty as a the ‘Newbie’ councilor, while her laughing still was flowing out of her.

Olivia watched the girl leave, and just shook her head while hurrying  into the cabin to gather up the campers for a walk down to the swimming area just down from the dock.. Dispite things going on, the woman felt a little better after being tickled with her interaction with the small woman with the long dark hair.

It was now just after one o’clock, the heat was almost unbearable by now.  Mandy was heading down the soft sloped hill towards the boathouse, feeling the heat literally weighing on her.  She wished that she had other lighter clothes with her for such a day as this, but she already knew what she had on was the lightest things that she owned.

As she thought of such things, Mandy started to giggle as she found herself wishing that Pawa was a ‘clothing optional’ place just to have a chance of getting cooled off.
“ That’s just crazy to think...”  She told herself with a giggle as she hurried down the dirt path. The image of everyone being naked at Pawa tickled her, and she found herself continuing to giggle.

The long and gangly councilor Irene was just coming up from the docks with her group bouncing around behind her. The woman looked up the trail, and could see Mandy was coming down the slope. The woman never paused, but had put a smile on her face as the young woman got closer.
“ Hot as hell today, ya think?” The very bony looking woman called out, as the smaller councilor passed by.
“ Gimme a egg and a flat rock from on the beach, we’d have some more breakfast to eat in no time...” Commented back Mandy.
“ That’s fer sure...” Irene came back in her distinct American accent, as her cabin of girl hurried passed Mandy, obviously wanting to get out of this heat as quickly as possible. “ Next time I’ll bring the bacon an’ we can have a cookout.”

It was clear by how the woman was forcing her little jokes with Mandy, Irene was still feeling the great stress that has hung over Pawa ever since Tabitha had been noticed missing.... and how it had become like a lumbering beast after the young girl had been found. That was so evident.

An obvious tightness of voice could be heard so clearly through the woman’s attempt at humor , made Mandy start to feel a little more tighter herself. It had reminded her of what just was going on around here, and brought an abrupt end to her lightening mood.  She took a glance back up the path, but could see that the Councilor and her rowdy group of Campers were already over the top of the hill and completely gone from view.  She turned back to continue down to the boathouse, her mind now flooded with things.

Unknown to even herself, Mandy had quickened her step in an attempt to push those growing feeling down once more. In her mind, she knew the police were out there doing what they had to... and that everyone had to just wait.  She was worried about Alison as well, but she already knew that the young lady had made her bed for herself on this one... yet it was hard to stop caring all together.

Whatever Alison had done to her, Mandy still felt a great sense of love for the woman she had shared four years with. It was true that she did not want to see Alison hurt in anyway, but she had made the decisions all on her own dispite what they had shared. She was feeling such a mixture of emotions and resentments, all of them with no sense of any resolution.

Alison was the one who had gotten pregnant when she had cheated, had been the one who chose to run off with Allen who seemed to be the one that had raped a helpless young girl and everything. She had done nothing to make the woman do any of these things, she had only freely handed Alison her heart, only to have it stomped on in the end. The fact of her still loving and caring for Alison, made her mad at herself.

Sick of battling all of this, Mandy just made herself focus onto what she was doing fort the time being. With everything else that also was occupying her still very tired mind, the need to keep herself as busy as she could was probably a better thing to do. It was in all honesty, the only thing.

Entering the large boathouse by way of a very rickety door on the side of the structure, Mandy was more than pleased to find that inside the long and large place felt cooler than outside... but it was not cooler by much. She just sighed and stepped in more, as the small relief that the place gave her was way better than nothing at all.

Now that she was out of the blinding sun, the low light inside made it very hard to focus for a moment but she knew that she had little time to let her eyes adjust.  She squinted a little while she hurried  to gather up those life-vests for her waiting group, bumping into one of the damaged canoes on the floor that was waiting to be repaired.
“ Forgot that was there...” She muttered to herself, as she had helped carry it in the other day when it was broken.

Thinking hard, Mandy was glad that she in a round about way, knew the general area inside this large building to find the much needed bright orange vests. Moving with that knowledge in her head, she made sure to avoid tripping over any other things that would be around her

As she headed to the very back of the boathouse, Mandy’s hearing caught a sound off to her right. The brief sound was almost like if someone had just moved a little in the shadows, but she thought it might have been that local cat that had seemed to make Pawa home.  She turned her head a little and tried to squint more to make sure of the little feline, but her eyes were still not accustomed to the dimness as yet and the sound had seemed to have stopped already.

Out of the dimness, she saw something flashing towards her from the side... moving in an horizontal arc and coming straight at her. She tried to move herself the best that she could sideways with a instinctive lunge to avoid whatever it was. She was not fast enough and the thing ended up hitting her squarely on the side of her head. It was a very vicious connecting blow, one that had knocked her clear off her feet.. the sound of it hitting was deafening..

Mandy collapsed to the ground heavily, the back of her head smacked hard on the concrete floor. Her mind spun with an array of multicolored lights, then there was a very overwhelming strobe of pain that shot through her entire body. She felt all of her breath expel out of her lungs, forcing her to try and suck some air back into herself... but the pain that now overtook ever part of her senses, made that hard to do.

As she layed there in a heap on the sand and dirt that covered the cement floor for a few moments, she felt hands roll her onto her back then beginning to touch her in places that no one should be as she lay so very helpless. Her vision blurred, she could not make out even a part of the face that was now molesting her.

A very rough skinned hand roughly pushed up her sundress she had been wearing then was followed by large fingers that suddenly were being jabbed inside her little treasure through one of the leg hole of her underwear. She could do nothing to stop this person as her body was not responding to the frantic messages her mind was screaming like mad through the horrible pain that shot through her crotch.

This was the rapist Allen, her fear numbed mind figured out, as those calloused fingers ripped themselves even deeper to her womb. She could feel a tear starting to roll down her sore face, as those fingers probed her like she was nothing to this person.  She heard the rustling of clothing and heavy breathing that was very foul smelling, then she had her panties violently ripped from her body.
“ You’re a little old here, but this is how sex is really suppose to be, you little dyke bitch... Enjoy!!” Was the only thing the male voice had said in a hiss, spoken in a way that she could not identify that it was Allen.

Fear now gripped Mandy’s very soul, as she knew what was going to happen to her next. That was verified when her own ripped panties were then roughly shoved deep into her mouth, making her gag violently as she had enough of a time breathing as well. The person then yanked apart her legs, painfully splaying her entirely for his pending deed. Her head slowly lolled to the side, thankful that she was too weak to move it herself,..she could not see the person anyways who had her at his mercy, and this would be a small blessing in the middle of this curse..

The person who was violating her all of a sudden had stopped for some reason, echoing sounds of running feet now filled the stillness and they were moving past where she layed exposed. Those footsteps were very heavy even on the cement, and they were obviously heading straight for the partially open door.  She could make out a blurry hulking figure running away from her, but she could not tell who it was from where she layed... she was only glad that the person had stopped what they had been doing to her.

She struggled to focus on anything that she could, but her head was now hurting even more as she lay there. She still struggled to breath right, but it was getting even harder to do so. With every second that passed now,  the world around her was painfully spinning out of control, even the light that was from the now fully wide open doorway hurt as much as anything else on her body

With nothing she could do, Mandy laid there on sand covered surface while her as her arms and legs tingled wildly. She could feel herself slowly beginning to slip away into nothing, as the pain throbbed and grew in her head.  She tried to will herself to get up, but not one part of her body responded to her feeble attempts.

As she continued to slip into blackness, her head was suddenly being filled with thundering loud shouts from outside of the boathouse. She could not make out what they were screaming, but it meant that people were near.  She wanted to call out for help desperately, but she found even her voice was not working. She could only give a very low groan, while she listened to whatever was going on.

She began to hear a storm of loud cursing, then was followed by the sounds a furious struggle that was going on outside. She could hear the obvious sounds of a scuffle going on, and there were punches being thrown as the swearing increased to echo through her numbed body. With so many voices being heard, that told her that it was a whole group of people that were involved in whatever was happening.

She tried again to call out, to let them know that she was there and needed help, but she could only get out a small whimper, as the pain wracked through her entire body.
“ Help me...” Her mind screamed over and over again, but her moth continued to be stilled by her pain

She could now tell that the fight had suddenly had stopped, and she hoped that someone would come in and find her now.  She could hear the voices still outside, and her mind screamed for someone to find her.

A husky yet very female voice suddenly hung in the sudden stillness of the boathouse. Mandy was thankful to hear that voice, as it seemed that whoever it was had stepped in to where she lay.
“ We got someone on the floor in the boathouse where that bastard came out of...”  It loudly called out, as it seemed that the owner of the voice was running up to were Mandy layed.

She felt someone touch her softly, as she began to descend into a vortex of blackness in her pain clogged mind. As she fought to keep herself from slipping from reality, she could hear the lady’s voice gasp very loudly while she felt something very soft was being placed under her head.
“ Jesus Fuckin’ Christ!! Someone go get the nurse or some damn help..” The voice said with a urgent tone in it. A hand touched her cheek, but the figure was too blurry for Mandy to tell who it was.  “ Oh my God... It’s Mandy... and she’s bleeding really bad from the...”  The voice trailed off from there.

Mandy lapsed into unconsciousness at that precise moment, the voice now disappearing like the wind. Drifting into a inky murk, she could vaguely make out that other people were gathering around her as her world collapsed into a sea of dark nothingness.
