Chapter 2

It was early evening when Michelle arrived at the old man’s house. Michelle recalled she hadn’t set foot onto the property in over 5 years. Michelle was greeted immediately by a grey-haired man.

“Michelle, welcome” He said cheerfully.

“Thanks John.” Michelle replied with a growing smile.

A mature aged woman stepped out next to John and greeted her with a hug “Michelle dear it’s so good to see you. It has been way to long since you visited.”

“Yeah I know, I’ve just been really busy Mary.” Michelle said sheepishly.

Mary scoffed. “We know whose fault that is, don’t we?” Scolding at her husband.

John threw his arms up with a confused look on his. “What?”

“No it’s my fault, sometimes I just put work before other things in my life. I’m sorry.”

“Well, you need to have a life too, right John?” Asked his wife as she looked him over.

“Huh yeah yeah” Rolling his eyes at Michelle. “And here is someone you haven’t seen in a long while either Michelle.”

Michelle turned around, her face almost hits the floor as a young girl walked passed her and kissed her father.

“You remember our daughter Kate?”

Michelle had no words as she felt like she had a mouthful of sand. She instantly recognized the clothes she had stripped from the young girl last night, and now recalls why the girl was so familiar to her.

“W-wow you’ve really grown up” Stuttered Michelle as she couldn’t help blushing.

Kate wrapped her arms around Michelle and pulls her closer “I’m not the little girl you used to baby sit anymore.”

Michelle became rigid as memories started rushing back. She broke the hug “Yeah, you must be at least... what, 25?”

Mary laughed and kissed her daughter. “She wishes, no, she just turned 19 yesterday. My dear I wished you change into some nice clothes. They look as if you have slept in them.”

Kate smiled and looked at Michelle enjoying her uncomfortable state.

Michelle quickly excused herself and mingled with her other colleagues, putting as much distance between her and Kate. She cursed the awkward situation that her promiscuous side had gotten into as she headed straight for the bar.

Michelle was leaning against a table drinking champagne as she tried to push out last nights memory of being with her boss’s daughter. She was a girl she used to baby sit when she started working for John in the early years and now...

“You don’t look so happy Michelle.” Came a cheery voice next to her.

“Kate... Kate, look I’m so sorry about last night.” Apologized Michelle as she fidgeted in place.

Kate helped herself to Michelle’s glass and drunk her champagne with a coy smile. “Why... It’s not like you did anything wrong.”

“Yeah I did, I knew you looked familiar… I shouldn’t of had sex with you.” Michelle stressed in a hush voice as she looked around the room for eavesdroppers.

Kate threw her head back and laughed like she just heard a joke.

“What’s so funny?” Groaned Michelle, still looking around.

“You didn’t… I did all the work and then you passed out on me.” Replied Kate in the same hushed voice.

Michelle recalled the night in more detail and blushed “Oh yeah… well please believe me if I knew it was you….” Continued Michelle as Kate cut her off.

“Oh lighten up Michelle, I fuck whoever I want so don’t beat yourself up about it. Anyways I was just disappointed you didn’t return the favor.” A sly smirk worked across Kate’s face.

Michelle stood rigid just looking straight ahead as she caught John’s eye and nodded.

Kate leaned in closer and whispered in Michelle’s ear. “And by the way… you tasted fantastic.”

Michelle moved back a little too quick and knocked over some of the glasses at the bar. Kate giggled into her hand as she left an embarrassed Michelle to clean up the mess and apologize to other guest for her clumsiness.

The speeches were dragging on and Michelle was bored now. She looked around and quietly smiling.

“C’mon yeah yeah” She thought to herself as John went on about the history of the company.

“Well, I know you all came here to wish me a happy retirement and up until a few days ago I was all set. However I still feel there is a little left in the old tank and with that said I’ve decided to stay on for a further 3 years.”

Colleagues clapped and cheered as Michelle eyes rose up in horror to John’s unexpected announcement. Michelle looked around the group, she could see people looking at her and murmuring.

John continued. “Well it’s going to take at least 3 years to pay for my daughter university degree now that she’s finally made a decision.”

Michelle’s demeanor changed instantly as she grabbed another drink from the bar, fuming she left to be alone in the gardens.
