Title: Kitsune & The Grapes

[Author's notes: Disclaimer: The following story is a re-telling of the Aesop fable "The Fox and The Grapes".  I don't think ol' Aesop would sue me, seeing he's been gone since my ancestors were monkeys...but just in case, I'm not profiting off of this.  Yet.  :-)]

Kitsune & The Grapes
A fable by MadPanda

Once upon a time...

... in an enchanted forest, lived a fox spirit named Kitsune.  She was as beautiful as she was smart, and was always able to get whatever she wanted, either by using her feminine charm, or by theft and trickery.

Such was her ways that everyone in the forest knew of her.  No one trusted her, even if she told the truth.  And no one would befriend her, as they felt they would be used or tricked by her eventually.  Needless to say, this made Kitsune one lonely fox spirit.

It also made her a hungry fox spirit.  Kitsune had never learned to hunt, as she depended on the kindness of strangers.  However, she had abused the privilege, and now no one would give her food or drink again.

And so it came to be that Kitsune, lonely and hungry, made her way through the forest one day.  "Damn," she cursed.  "If I don't get something to eat soon, I'm going to starve!  I'm too beautiful to die like that!  It would be so cruel and unfair!  I would give my body to anyone who would feed me!"

"Anyone?" a voice whispered.

Kitsune nearly jumped out of her fur upon hearing the sound.  "Who?  Who said that?"  She looked around but saw no one.

"Up here, silly fox!" the voice laughed.  It was soft and playful, almost like a young woman.  "Here!  Here I am!"

Kitsune strained to see between the branches of a nearby tree, and found within a beautiful sight.  A wood nymph, her curvaceous figure covered by a makeshift leaf-dress, her wings folded behind her.  "Who are you?  And what are you doing up there?", the fox spirit asked.

"I am Sylva, and I am eating some grapes!" the sexy nymph teased.  "They are so delicious!  Would you like some?"   She stuck out her tongue and placed a grape on it, holding it there for the fox spirit to see before drawing it into her mouth.

Kitsune was completely taken by the beautiful nymph--more so when Sylva fluttered down to the lowest branch of the tree.  She crossed her long legs as she sat on the branch and began to eat another grape, playing with it in her lips before taking it in her mouth.  Kitsune marveled not only at her beauty, but at how this nymph turned something as simple as eating a grape into an erotic performance.

"Are they...are they really that good?"  The fox spirit found herself panting and blushed.

"Oh yes!  So sweet, and very juicy!"  As to demonstrate the point, Sylva bit into one of the grapes and let the juice drip onto her full breasts.  She then cupped a breast in one hand and licked the juice off of it, then offered it to the fox spirit.  "Would you like some?"

"I would LOVE some!", Kitsune cried.  "Please come down and we can share them!  Please let me taste them with you!"

"No."

Kitsune was taken aback.  "Why not?  You offered them to me!  Why now do you refuse me?"

"They're yours for the taking, as am I.  But you have to come up here."  Sylva's voice was smooth and seductive now, which only served to enrage the fox spirit.

"I cannot climb trees!  You have wings!  Just come down here already!" Kitsune yelled.

"No.  You must come up here."

The fox spirit was tired of this.  She jumped up to try and catch the wood nymph and her grapes, but crashed to the ground.  "Now look what you've made me do!" she cried.  "I'm covered in old leaves and dirt!"

"But you are still very beautiful, Kitsune.  Come up here, and we'll share more than these grapes together!"  Sylva winked a deep green eye at Kitsune, and gave a demure smile.

"Arrgh!"  The fox spirit tried once again to jump to the branch, only to miss.  Again she tried, and again she crashed to the ground.  "This is pointless!!  Why do you tease me when you know I can't get up there?"

"Do you give up, then?"

"Never!"  Kitsune steeled her resolve, and made attempt after attempt.  Even with long running starts, she could not reach the branch.  She then tried a different tactic.  "Oh, Sylva!  I'm starving and I'm so lonely!  I'm so tired, too!  All I want is for you to feed me those grapes, and to be with you!  Please, oh please come down to me!  I will do anything you ask!  I will be yours forever!  Please!!"

Sylva smiled and turned her head up.  "No."

"To hell with you then!!"  Kitsune snarled.  "Keep your stupid grapes!  They're probably poisoned anyway, and you were probably trying to kill me!!  I don't want them anymore...or you!"

"As you wish," Sylva said sadly, before flying to the other side of the tree.  Kitsune followed her, and watched as a beautiful young human girl walked toward the tree.  "Excuse me!" the wood nymph called out to the girl.  "Would you like some grapes?"

"Are they delicious?" the girl asked.

"Oh yes...sweet and juicy!"  Sylva once again bit into a grape and licked the dripping juice from her bosom.  "Would you like some?"

The girl blushed.  "Y-Yes, please!"

"No!  They are poisoned!!"  Kitsune jumped out suddenly, startling the girl.  "You don't want those!  Not from her!  She's an evil nymph!  She tried to kill me, and she'll do the same to you!  Run!  Run away!!"

"Pay her no mind, my lovely young lady," the wood nymph said with a smile....  "All you have to do is come up here and we can share everything together."

"It's a trick!!"  Kitsune was now pushing the girl away from the tree.  "She only wants to trick you!  She'll kill you!  The grapes are poisoned!  Don't eat them!!"

"I don't think she would do that," the girl said to Kitsune.  "I'll be right back."  The girl ran off with a giggle, and soon returned with a ladder.

"I'm telling you!  She'll kill you!  Don't eat the grapes!"  Kitsune tried to knock the ladder away from the girl, to no avail.

The girl glared at the fox spirit.  "If you think the grapes are poison, then what should you care whether or not I try them for myself?"

Kitsune fumbled for an answer, but couldn't come up with one.  Her pride wouldn't let her tell the girl what had happened earlier.  "Fine, go ahead.  I tried to warn you!"  Kitsune stormed away, but stopped suddenly as the girl climbed the ladder and sat next to the wood nymph.  They laughed, feeding each other grapes and kissing in the tree.

"Why?" Kitsune whined.  "Why did you choose her and not me?"

"I didn't choose her, silly fox.  She chose me!"  Sylva gave the girl a big hug, then smiled down on Kitsune.  "She found a way up here, and you did not.  She came to me, even though you lied to her.  You could have come up here with us, you know."  She pointed to the ladder, still leaning against the tree.  "But you chose to lie and cry instead.  Whose fault is that?"

Kitsune realized her error, and rushed for the ladder, but Sylva pulled up the ladder before Kitsune could even think about climbing it.  "Next time, find your own way."

Kitsune glared at the women.  Knowing she had lost, she grumbled and skulked away, lonely and hungry.

The girl and the wood nymph returned to eating the juicy grapes and kissing each other.  They lived happily ever after
