Chapter Seven - Bivouac

Blake Island was located ten miles down the Lake from Camp Pawa. It was over a mile long and over three hundred yards wide piece of rock, dirt and trees place that was set in the very center of the lake at the widest and deepest part. The island had sandy shorelines and was mainly flat throughout. It was perfect for what it was being used for.

It sat with the closest people was the camp, and had been deeded to them by the local government. It was the jewel, the pride of the Camp, the perfect place in all of the surrounding areas.

Early morning was so beautiful, as Blake island sat in the growing heat. The boat caring the first campers of the year had arrived just as the land was waking. Under the blazing sun, the campers set up camps, probably wanting to get it done before it got hotter than it already was.

The girl’s of Cabin five were hard at work. Councilor Olivia had made them set up camp at a prescribed length apart from on another. Each twosome could see the other’s camps, but was a firm distance away.

CC and Mandy were hard at work, setting up their camp. The gothic girl, dressed inner black tank top and shorts set, worked hard at making a fire pit out of rocks she found all up and down the shoreline that was about thirty feet in front of their camp. Mandy had chosen to set up the tent, and she too, was hard at work.

The goth girl took a moment of pause to wipe the swear from her long dark bangs, as she had opted to go with just a long ponytail rather than her trademarked pigtails. She looked over to see how the smaller girl was getting along with the task she had taken. She was surprised at what she saw.

The smaller girl had the tent almost set up, and the food already stowed away to be carted into the tent. The girl was working so hard, her pink top set she wore showed the heaviness of her own sweat.

" Jesus!" Said CC up to the girl. " Where in the hell did you learn to set up tents like that?"

The girl turned and paused herself, she seemed to be a little less preoccupied in the mind for the time being.

" My mom and Dad were avid campers when I was little..." She said, showing the first smile that she had since landing on Blake. " Guess I picked it up from them."

" Picked it up?" Gasped CC. " You picked it up, and ran with it, by the looks of it, mastered it."

" Looks like you have made a fire pit more than once yourself." Mandy commented back, eyeing the girl’s handiwork. " Seems like I don’t know all of your talents yet either!"

" My parents were totally nuts about the outdoors too, old flower children types...." CC said, then laughed. " Hell, I was a girl scout once too, just to be ‘normal’.."

Mandy finally let a giggle.

" You? You were a Girl Scout?"

" Yep.. for two years...’ CC laughed, liking that the girl seemed a little closer to being herself. " Guess I also have learned a lot more than I thought I had. My secret was that I actually liked it"

A loud voice could be heard from down the shore, screaming and spluttering without one inkling of what the words actually were. Mandy and CC stopped talking and looked over to see what the hell was happening.

A tent had fallen down, and Mary was standing outside of it laughing. The screeching of Tracy was heard, although none of the words cold not be made out from where they were standing, but they could guess just what those words just might be..

" I think our princess does not have a rustic spirit..." CC said, through heavy laughter.

" Me thinks she don’t even know the word ‘rustic’..." Giggled Mandy, looking at the lump inside of the tent moving around so frantically.

Laughing, Mandy and CC returned to finish setting up their camp. They were just going to let poor Mary deal with the diva’s diatribe and complaining... they had a job to so before the sun was at it’s peak in the sky.

As the set back to work, their eyes met as they were standing quite close to one another. CC saw Mandy take a sharp breath in and gasped, as the locked gazes, then she turned away quickly, going back to finalizing the tent set up. The sudden change did not pass the goth girl’s notice, and she was now sure that it was the fact that she had been honest and divulged what her sexual orientation was, but something also nagged at her that it was not the reason. She wanted to ask about it, but the councilor came over to check on their progress.

CC decided that at some point that she would have to find out what was what. Putting in the back of her mind, and delt with the woman that had came over to see what they had done already.

The sun was now high in the sky, and everyone had their camps set up and ready to be used. Because of the head, the girl’s all up and down the shore were changing into their swimwear to take a dip in the inviting wetness of the lake, as sort of gift to themselves for getting things set up in a very timely fashion, and before they got down to starting to make the noon meal for themselves.

Mandy splashed around in the water in front of their campsite, enjoying Lake Pawa’s coolness on her hot skin. Dressed in her best all white bikini, she was glad to have as little as possible on at this point. She looked over at the tent, seeing if CC was going to come out and into the water as well, finding herself excited at the thought of getting to see the girl in a bathing suit.

She was still trying to figure out things in her head, as the attraction she was feeling for the long legged girl was not going away. In truth, they were getting stronger and harder to ignore. The fact that they were being thrown together to live, eat and sleep next to one another was not helping any, her feelings were growing and building, confusing her to no end.

Mandy saw the girl step out of the tent right that moment and she gulped hard. She found a vision that looked like no other, and she was standing on shore right then under the spotlight of the sun.

CC was dressed in a very skimpy black bikini, that hugged her curves like a second skin, the skeleton print on the fabric just adding to the look. The tattoo on CC’s lower part peeked out from over the bottoms, drawing Mandy’s eyes to trace the flat lines of the girl’s muscular abdomen and then follow the curves of her hips, noting that the stringed bottoms also showed off every curve everywhere else.

Just the sight of CC’s long legs and flat stomach made Mandy feel all tingly everywhere, especially down in the spot between her legs, as it too jumped and throbbed as her eyes drank in the young goth. Noticing her own nipples had became rock hard and were jutting out from under the fabric of her bikini top, took Mandy by surprise as well. CC was a vision like out of a magazine or something, the most beautiful thing Mandy had ever seen.

The girl slowly waded into the water, and seemed to also be looking right at her. Mandy turned her head ans slipped into deeper water, trying not to show just how much this girl was affecting her, as she felt her own face turn hotter than what it had been feeling a few moments ago. Unknowing what to do now, she just treaded water and watched CC come deeper into the cool solitude that was the lake.

Mandy was unsure of what the terms ‘turned on’ or ‘sexually excited’ were actually suppose to feel like, but she was now beginning to figure out that all of these feelings she was having flying through her like a freight train, probably would be just that. With all f the sensations flying through her, and the way she could not get herself to stop looking at CC, that probably was what was happening to her

Mandy swam around, hoping that the cool water would lessen all of these feelings, but she was finding out that it was not working. Sneaking peeks over at the now wet girl as she entered the water from dunking herself, The smaller girl could see how her snowy white skin seemed to sparkled in the sun, did not help her either. CC was like a goddess as she stood there in thigh deep water, her body and face seeming so perfect in every way, inviting, captivating, that Mandy could not even begin to think of anything else..

To have time to calm down and think things out, Mandy made a decision and swam around a small rocky outcrop just a hundred feet past where she was treading water. She was so confused at the moment, but her heart was seeming to be not at all confused. With her mind and heart at odds, she needed some time to figure things out... and that was hard when you were always being so close to the one that made her heart flutter, her knees go weak and your mind wander to things that normally were not even there.

On to one large rock behind the stack of many that made the point, Mandy pulled herself out on to the granite blob. The surface of the grey lump that jutted out of the water was smooth and very hot feeling on her backside, but the silence that was at the point made her feel like she could begin to ponder on her little problem, at least for a few minutes. Settling herself to simply sit, she was going to take advantage of the out of the way place.

She sat, looking out over the calm waters that shone in the brightness, her mind already wandering to the amazing image that CC made in her swim suit, and she felt her private areas twitch even harder. These feelings also unlocking many more feelings besides her ‘lust’, and that was overwhelming.

" What am I thinking? Why am I thinking like this... It don’t make sense...does it?" She kept asking herself, her mind flying with so many things. " She’s a girl, I’m a girl... What does it mean... how I am feeling... thinking... Am I gay?"

She took a deep breath to try and settle herself to think, but that was not even helping things. Her whole being was confused with the conflicts that raged inside. She closed her eyes again, trying to piece things together.

A splashing sound kicked her out of her thoughts, she looked over and she found herself unable to breath for a moment. The girl that she was just thinking about was pulling herself on to the rock beside her,.and her heart felt like it had stopped in mid beat.

" You ok here?" Asked CC, looking at her with her eyes wide and deep.

Mandy looked at the girl, still surprised that she had shown up at the rocks

" I’m just sitting for a moment..." The smaller framed girl answered, although even she could hear that her words could be considered unconvincing.

" All the way over here?" CC asked with a waver.

" It’s quiet here... and I like it..." Mandy said, her words still not even close to being convincing.

The tall girl settled herself on the rock, then looked at Mandy, her eyes searching her face for the longest of times.

" I feel that there is something going wrong here..." CC said, her voice starting off a littler wavy with emotions. " Actually... I really do sense that there is something wrong with you."

" Wrong? What could be wrong?" Stammered the smaller girl, looking at CC, surprised at the girl’s insight.

" You have been my friend since we met that first day...." CC started, making sure that she faced Mandy. " I don’t make friends easy, and I have a feeling that you are the same way... so that is why I feel deep down that something is really wrong... I can usually sense these things...."

Mandy didn’t react, as her face was stoic, as if she did not know what to say. She looked deeply into CC’s eyes, and saw the sincerity that she spoke with. She lowered her gaze, and she sighed, as she was still not sure whether or not if she should just come out with what she has been feeling for so long, but it was a fear that kept her silent right now, a fear that CC might not feel the same about her.

CC reached out and lifted the smaller girl’s head, making Mandy able to only look right at her.

" Tell me the truth...." She started, the normally strong CC seemed to almost have tears starting to fill her eyes. " Is the fact that I told you I am gay, making you not want to be friends with me?"

" No!" Said Mandy sternly with the one word answer, then turning rather passive in her ways. " It is not that... Don’t ever think that is what’s wrong here..."

" Then what the hell is it?" She pleaded, her deep brown eyes holding on to Mandy’s. " I care about you more than you will know... I see something, and I worry for you, just like when you got me to talk... now, what is it?"

" I... don’t want to say... " Mandy said as her eyes filling with a few tears under the intense stare from CC. " I don’t know what you’ll think of it..."

The gothic beauty stroked Mandy’s cheek softly, her eyes filling with more and more tears.

" What ever it is... just tell me... I don’t think that I could ever think badly of you" CC said, now worried a great amount. " You have become so very important to me... and I am very concerned about whatever it is that bothers you like this..." She paused to make her eyes tightly locked on to Mandy’s when she continued. " Please... Simply let me in, like you have allowed me to be with you..."

They looked at one another, one was in waiting for an answer to come out, the other deeply contemplating whatever she should answer. Time seemed to stop right there, as each girl looked at the other.

Mandy took a deep breath, and suddenly leaned over. Softly, she placed a soft yet very passion-filled kiss on the taller girl’s lips and backed away shyly. She lifted her eyes and stared straight into CC dark browns, reading the girl’s shock at her action.

" It is that... I think I have fallen in love with you." She said her voice never sounding so sure of itself before, as she released the truth that she had felt for so long. " That’s what."

The smaller girl lowered her head, and let herself slip into the cool waters of the lake. As a stunned CC sat there, Mandy swam away and went around the point to return to the beach in front of their encampment.

Shocked with the admission and the kiss, CC sat there for a long time. She watched the girl swim around the point and out of sight, but never once moved. She just sat for the longest time, thinking on what had happened, but her heart was already yelling. She felt it beating away in her chest, as she too, had a secret that was now pushing it’s way to the surface. She could not stop it, could not push it away.. .It was now talking to her.

Her Heart was reminding her, that she had been feeling the same thing towards Mandy too. She had fallen in love with Mandy from day one, but because of her short time past being with Raven... she knew that she had blocked it out. Now, she found that her feelings could not be blocked any longer.
