Chapter 1

Title: Rosetta x Sora - Kaleido Star

The Yuri Series

- I -

Sora x Rosetta

* * *

It was the second last scene of the play Kaleido Stage was performing. This was also Rosetta Passel's first time as the main lead. She was playing the role of a kidnapped Princess, who was soon to be rescued by a dashing Prince. She was, at the moment, playing unconscious.

In the previous parts of the play, there was to be no dialogue. The play was done in actions alone so far and it was actually quite an ingenious plan. Kudos to Mia for coming up with the idea. Mouths did open but only to make the actors' emotions stand out more. There were sound effects too that accentuated the great manoeuvres the cast performed in air.

Naegino Sora was playing the dashing and brave Prince. The prince had fought a long a hard battle to get to the evil King but his problems were not over. It turned out that the King had imprisoned the Princess in a tower...A tower that was guarded by a fire-breathing dragon. That was a long a painful battle but at last, the dragon fell to his sword. The Prince was dripping blood and on the verge of collapsing as he went up the tower stairs. When he reached the door at the top and entered it...the sight that greeted him made him forget everything else.

There she was - The person rumoured to be the most beautiful creature in the four Kingdoms - Princess Rita. The Prince's eyes wandered the sleeping form of the Princess without even his awareness. The Prince came back to his senses though, when his eyes reached the Princess' wrists. The wrists were tied up firmly and it was then that the Prince saw that the creature in front of him was not in a peaceful slumber - Though that is exactly how it looked - but that she was unconscious.

This was the cue for the dialogue scene and Sora took this time to remember her lines before the Prince dashed to the Princess' rescue.

"My lady, please wake up." The Prince gently shook the Princess after he had released her bindings. He was on one knee and rested the Princess in his arms supported by the raised one. "Please Princess...Open your eyes!" The Prince pleaded with the sleeping form in his arms.

There was a jerk and the furrow of eyebrows. The gentle eyes before the Prince slowly opened. The worst looking Prince - with blood and gore all over him - The most beautiful creature you'd ever see. The Prince and the Princess' eyes met. Time stopped for the needed instant.

"Who...Who are you?" the gentle eyes turned fearful remembering the last time she had them opened. The Prince too was not looking so inviting at the moment.

The Prince deduced this and decided to quickly ebb the Princess' fears. "Fear not Princess. You are quite safe now. I would never think of harming you."

The Princess seemed to not believe that though. It was understandable too in her position. "But...King Andean and the Dragon. Oh the terrible dragon!"

"You will be frightened no more Princess. I have laid waste of the dragon and the King is no more. My trusting soldiers are putting an end to his army as we speak." The Prince told the Princess.

There was a silence as the Princess took everything in. She listened and there was no terrible roar or the stinking breath of the Dragon. She could also hear battle cries in the distance. This man was perhaps saying the truth. If that was so then..."You have saved me. Oh how will I ever repay your bravery?"

"There will be no need for that my Princess. Many other Princes have come to your rescue before and have all fallen. I am one of those many who would give their lives if it meant your freedom." The Prince tried to decline the offer.

"You are a Prince?!" There was a moment of surprise then the Princess' eyes turned sad. "You say others have come to my rescue before and have all fallen. Why would they do that? I am not worthy of so many important lives."

"King Von III announced that his daughter would get married to the prince who saved her. All those that came before came for this purpose only. So please don't say that you are not important. You were important to them for them to sacrifice their lives for you."

"You say ‘them' then what about ‘you'? Why have you come?"

"My father too perhaps wanted the same, every Kingdom was meaning to make you theirs but I simply have come not for my sake, but for yours Princess."

"What do you mean brave Prince?" The Princess was confused.

"I only came to grant you your freedom Princess. I do not wish to get rewarded or to get married through the terms of the order."

"So then you wish not to get married to me after you have gone through so much?" The Princess was actually quite disturbed that someone didn't want to marry her.

"I would be glad to have you by my side but not on the conditions laid out. I believe everyone should have a choice with who they are to spend their future with."

"May I know who you are brave Prince?"

"I am the son of King Deidre IV of the Eastern kingdom - Prince Deidre Junior."

There was a moment of consideration for the Princess. "Thank you for rescuing me Prince Deidre Junior. I hope you at least accept this small gift of mine."

And there was where the performance was supposed to end. The Princess was supposed to stop only centimetres away from the prince's lips and the smoke was to rise...To seal the kiss that was the beginning of the greatest romance of all time.

This is not what happened.

The Princess did not pause and did indeed continue until her lips touched those of a shocked Prince. The shock was not the Prince's only. Every other soldier, the spectators, the organisers and the Dragon were all in pure black out. The kiss was the softest and most tender moment you'd ever think it.

Rosetta came to her senses first and pulled back. She got to her feet and helped a really dazed, confused and red in the face Sora to her feet. She got hold of the older girl's hand and raised them to the Audience below them.

The Audience exploded. Ken - who was supposed to cut the smoke but forgot all about it - was brought back to his senses but it was too late now. Whistles, claps and stomps rang out strongly thought the whole dome. Squeals and screams of joy, wonder and amazement reverberated all around.

Kalos who had been more shocked by the excellent performance being ruined only a second before it ended was more shocked by the applause. Some of their own staff were crying...you know very well who. The day was the most crazy they had ever had since the Great Manoeuvre and this was only the beginning of Rosetta and Sora's performances as partners. His future was looking brighter than ever.

Kalos wasn't the only one looked to the future...Fool too was studying the tarots for his two favourite signs and his vision had never been clear than it was at the moment. "And this is just the beginning for those two. That girl Rosetta had amazed even me. Perhaps she is..." His thoughts were cut off as two very wet girls only wrapped in towels came out of the bathroom. Sora looked very embarrassed and was murmuring something while Rosetta winked at fool. Fool gave her thumbs up as he fought his on coming blood loss. Yes...She was most definitely the ONE.

Nia x Yoko

* * *

Yoko woke up to an alien feeling. A feeling so pleasant to wake up to, it was alien to her. She always woke up with a totally different feeling than she did now. This realisation made her open her eyes lazily and stare un-focusing.

She was laying on her side facing the wall and the sight that greeted her eyes made her pause- consider whether she was dead and in heaven or not. There was an angel lying in front of her. How she was sure it was an angel, well, it was the face that met her eyes.

Sometime, Yoko was not sure how much, passed by as she did nothing but stare at the face. The eyelids in front of Yoko slowly began to open as if sensing the burning stare. Soon, Golden eyes found them selves staring into pink flower shaped pupils - A four clover flower.

"Good morning Yoko-san. How are you feeling this morning?" Nia greeted with a bright smile. She didn't look at all like a person who has been sleeping. She was fresh as a flower in the early morning sun. Yoko was brought back to earth at that moment.

"Ah...Go...Good morning to you too Nia." Yoko stammered. Yes, the person in her bed was none other than their newest member Nia - The tragic girl that was discarded by her father, literary, in a dumb as garbage. The same man that was their ultimate enemy they were going after - The Spiral King.

"How are you feeling this morning Yoko-san? Are you feeling any better now?" Nia's voice was filled with concern now. Yes, that was right, Nia had come to Yoko's room last night to bring her dinner and she had found the girl crying.

Nia had asked questions then and despite Yoko trying to fend her off, saying that she was alright, the young girl insisted. Yoko had already reached her limits and didn't have enough resolve left to fight her sorrows alone anymore. Yoko had then let her heart out to the offered comfort and cried for the first time ever since Kamina's death.

Nia had comforted her and even let the young woman cry on her shoulder. Also, there was something else that happened later on in the night - Something that now made Yoko feel strange and quite embarrassed - A feeling similar to that time when she was with Kamina under the light of the full moon. This strange event was what had silenced her cries at last and washed away all her thoughts - Thoughts of Kamina and everything else.

The girl Nia had kissed Yoko last night. Now that Yoko thought about it, she wasn't sure why the girl did it and she doubted Nia did too. Yoko's mind was so gone that she couldn't clearly remember what happened between that and them getting into bed.

It was when they were under covers already, that Yoko's mind decided to click once again. At this time she remembered that she might have said something for Nia was saying this; "See Yoko-san, I am not going anywhere. I will stay here with you as long as you need, Okay?"

"You promise to not leave me?" She remembered pleading. She also remembered holding onto Nia like a life line - Not wanting the girl to disappear like ‘he' had. Yoko came back to her senses now and remembered that the girl was waiting for her to answer her question. "Yes Nia, I am fine now. Thank you for last night. I guess I was wrong about getting over these kinds of problems by oneself."

Yoko felt her cheeks colour in embarrassment and shame at the realisation of her mistakes. She didn't know why but she felt like she had lost points of what, she didn't have a clue.

"No Yoko-san, I was wrong too. I got into your and Simon's personal matters like that. I didn't even know anything about you yet I acted like that. I am sorry." Nia looked really sorry and Yoko felt the urge to caress her cheek and make her know that she wasn't in the wrong at all. It was this time that Yoko realised that her arm was around the small of Nia's waist. A memory from last night came to her as she clung to Nia like a scared child does to their mother's safe bosom and she coloured even worse than before.

Yoko realised too the short of the distance she and Nia had from each other. The bed as small as it was, had their bent knees intertwined with each others and their heads only centimetres away from each other. Yoko got off the bed faster than Nia could gasp - her heart racing.

"We...We had better hurry up or we will be late for breakfast." Yoko stammered quickly as she made her way to the bath room to freshen up in fast paces, her face on fire. Once she got there, Yoko willed her heart to calm down as she looked herself over in the wall mirror. She was a mess. Her hair was all crude and her face...Jesus...How could anyone want to kiss her when she looked like she did! The memory of the kiss last night came to her mind and Yoko was sure her heart wasn't normal to withstand such pulse speeds.

‘Damn it, why am I feeling this way? Not even my kiss with Kamina made me feel like this. Kamina..." The thought of the proud and great man made Yoko want to break down again. ‘No, I can't do that. I promised Nia that I would be alright. What would she think if she saw me like this? Wait a minute...When did I start living for Nia?!' Yoko was confused by her thoughts. She lost herself in her thoughts as she considered that...

...........................................

Later at breakfast, everyone in the room was looking in Yoko's direction. This time around, the stares were different from the usual.  This time, there was that extra bit of confusion and wonder. Even when she got her share and moved to her usual table in the back, she felt eyes still on her.

Yoko placed her tray on the table and took a seat. Another tray joined hers at her side. "Nia, what are you doing? You don't have to follow me anywhere. Don't you usually sit with Simon anyway?" Yoko whispered to the multi-colour-haired girl. Nia had not left her side since they left her room. When Yoko went to visit Leeron, Nia was there. When she went to visit the remaining patients from the previous incident, the girl was there with her. Even when Yoko had thought that the girl might stay with Simon when they went to greet him, all Nia did was say goodbye to him like she had done the others. Yoko had really wanted to be alone - What with the confusing feelings she was having for the same girl.

Nia leaned closer to the side to be closer to Yoko and whispered back. "But Yoko-san, you asked me not to leave you alone last night. You made me promise to be by your side and not leave, remember?" The girl wondered if Yoko had that short term of a memory. Perhaps she wasn't okay after all. There was no way then to leave Yoko-san alone. She was still needed.

"Ye...Yeah, I guess I did but..." Yoko didn't know what to say. To tell the truth, she really didn't want the girl to leave for some reason. She decided that she can live with that. But exactly what did she say last night that she didn't clearly remember?! The others were probably confused by there actions. Yoko acting stranger than she did and Nia, who wasn't seen anywhere away from Simon was now around Yoko. What was going on?

Well, Yoko did feel more comfortable around Nia than any other people. Not even the sisters were this close to her. It might have been because Nia broke through her walls while others stayed away from it except Leeron. The girl had persisted and Yoko felt betrayed when her heart allowed Nia through. If she was being honest with herself, Yoko knew that she hadn't let Kamina in as deep as she was letting Nia in.

It didn't help matters that last night when Yoko was at her breaking point, Nia had come to her rescue. Yoko had been struggling alone since she was young and she had never depended on anyone - No one at all until last night that is. She didn't fear letting Nia inside and even now, Yoko was not afraid of what Nia would do to it. After all, it was Nia who had saved it so wasn't it only fitting for Yoko's heart to belong to Nia?! What was she saying, really? What happened to her last night? Yoko found that she had asked herself that question more times than necessary. She decided to let the thing over now and proceeded on her breakfast all the while listening to Nia's stories from when she was with the Spiral King.

.......................................

Two hours later found Yoko and Nia by themselves. Yoko had gone up to the deck to repeat her morning ritual of cleaning her trusty rifle - Now named Kamina - and Nia of course tagged along. She felt for a part and it came to her hand. Now Nia had taken to passing Yoko the parts that she needed too. "Here you go Yoko-san." Nia said as she handed Yoko the part she was reaching for.

After the cleaning was done, Yoko laid Kamina down on the other side of her and let him sock in the morning sun with them. Yoko then leaned back on her hands and looked up to the star filled sky. It was so clear that even now as the sun was out you could see the stars. No pollutions or any of the sorts to block the view.

Some time passed by as Nia joined her into her hobby. Yoko decided to let out what she wanted to say. "Nia, I may have said some pretty selfish things last night but I wasn't in my right mind. You don't have to abide by them so..." She trailed off lamely suddenly losing her courage.

"It is al right Yoko-san. It was my decision too and I want to be there for you as I was for Simon..." Nia frowned." No...Not like Simon because he didn't ask for my help. Well, you didn't too but I saw it in your eyes. I couldn't abandon you when you needed me. And don't dismiss what you said last night. Those words came from your heart and the heart doesn't lie." There was an angry note in Nia's voice then that startled Yoko.

Well, it was true that she wasn't thinking last night. Her mind was very far from her body - The strength of the mind not enough to withstand the heartache. Nia wasn't done talking though. "I will stay with you until your heart tells me that you no longer need me. But I don't want to be pressing to. If you tell me to leave you and you mean it, even if your heart isn't healed, I will go. Even now I will if you want me to - Really want me to." Nia said this but her words were breaking as she went on. She didn't know why but she wanted to be useful to Yoko-san. If Yoko asked her to leave now..

"Nia..." Yoko was truck speechless. She searched deep into her soul and all the answers she got back were NO! NO and more NO! No, don't let her leave. Don't lose her too like you lost your family and him. She didn't think that she would ever stop needing Nia. Was that alright though? Was she being fair to Nia? No, that didn't matter, what mattered was that she needed the girl now. She had never depended on anyone before until her. ‘What are you doing to me Nia?'

While lost in her thoughts, Yoko didn't know that she had been leaning forward. Bu the time she realised this, her lips had already closed on the half developed ones of the girl below her. Even as this realisation came, Yoko didn't pull away. She simply let her arms go around the mysterious girl that wound her threads on Yoko's Heart. It might have been because when Yoko opened her eyes, she stared not into scared ones but warm inviting ones. Or it might have been Nia putting her arms around her neck to pull her in closer.

After a breathless moment Yoko pulled her head back enough to speak. "I don't want you to leave Nia. I don't want you to ever leave me. It sounds selfish and I know that you can leave whenever you want but this is how I feel. I am...sorry." Yoko looked down. She began to let go of Nia but felt her arms being held in place and looked into unnatural eyes. There was something different about them too...

"Then I will stay...Yoko-san."

Chapter 3

Title: Soulmates

ShoujoAi Series

-III-

Konata x Kagami

* * *

‘Well, this has best be worth all the hype it's getting. E he he...Tomorrow...I can't wait for tomorrow to see the look on Konata's face when she finds out I have a PC...Let alone playing WoW.' I think to myself as I unwrap the small encased box to remove the game I just bought. I can't help feeling ecstatic. This is after all my new personal PC and I am about to do something that she likes to do....

The manual looks thick so I think I will leave the reading for later. Right now I just want to know how to start the damn game. Good thing they taught us that ECDL in school. I wouldn't want to look like an amateur with my own PC. Installation is troublesome too. After a few more steps, I come to a somewhat shocking thing? I need to pay to play a game?! What was all that crap Konata was talking about the internet being free?! Better go ask Dad for his plastic.

I go into the kitchen and find him reading the news papers as usual while mom is keeping herself busy with some other work as usual too. He gives it to me with some kind of warning that I don't stay to listen to. Back to my room, I go onto the site, refresh and put in the details. After minutes of updates...What's the point any6way of selling the CD when we have to download updates from the internet bigger than the CD quantity....I come to the character selection page. Maybe I should've just ripped it off the net...No! No use thinking like that. ‘She' After all hates those kinds of people. I couldn't stand it if she hated me....Arg...There I go again.

I decide to go for the male character...There is nothing wrong with that, right...And I choose the human race. I play around with him until I get him to look like I want him.  The set ups finished, I enter the world in which I some time heard Konata say that she spends most of her time. Who knows, I might stumble upon her in there. Damn...I should've asked her players' names. Now the set ups done, I go into the game and it really does look like the real world, even if it is based on long ago times.

I experiment around somewhat and miraculously I end up with three quests.. My excitement is short lived thought as I have no clue where to go and what to actually do. I walk around and click on a few people to talk to them and ask for some advice. It is then I learn of the NPC. I decide to walk around by myself and fall into an enemy field. Those damn bandits. I am happy that I at least reached one of my quests...which was to take the head of their leader. And with them swarmed all around like that...The leader wouldn't be too far away...Too bad I was alone though and my first life ended.

I quite find that dying in Wow isn't so bad after all. But getting killed many times got boring and upsetting so I decided to quit. Looks like I will have to ask for help tomorrow when I see her. After I come back to life the twelfth time, I run quickly away to return to the castle and log out. Just I am about to hit the quit button, I see a huge blue guy running towards me. It was peculiar seeing as I was in a secluded area. He whispered to me a message;

ORT: Hey, you are new to the game right?

Kyokushi: Erm...yeah...but I was just about to log off. I have no clue as what to do.

ORT: Eh he...It's always like that for beginners. It is better to have someone who has played it for a while to get you started and help you level up.

Kyokushi:  Level up? Ah sorry...I was too excited to read the manual.

ORT: LOL. Like I said, they are always like that. I will help you out if you want and I promise you that when you get the hang of it, you won't want to log off...Especially when you level up and move into more interesting areas. I always come back in these low level areas whenever my new character reaches the last level.

Kyokushi: What? How ling have you been playing? I thought it had like 70 or so levels?!

ORT: Hmmm...I can't really remember but it's been really long. So, do you want help? I assure you, you won't regret spending your money on this.

Kyokushi: Well, since you were so kind, please...

ORT: Okay, the best way to level up and get your characters experience, is to complete as many quests as possible. Follow me, we will get you some.

Kyokushi: Ah if it's that...I already got a few but I didn't know what to do so...

ORT: Okay, I will add you to my friends list and party and you can share the quest with me.

Kyokushi: Okay...

After that and helping me with a few other tunings, we walked around all the while this new partner telling me lots of tips about the game. We completed all the tasks I had and even got new ones. It got really exciting and before I know it, it's three in the morning. Tomorrow is a school day so I bid farewell to my new partner, promise to meet again tomorrow and go to sleep. Okay, that wasn't so bad...I actually like it now. Now I can boast to Konata tomorrow on how I levelled up to level eight in one night and on my first try. Well, I got help but she doesn't know that. Sleeps comes late but it does eventually and when I wake up in two hours, I am not really that dulled.

.......................................................

It's morning now and me and Tsukasa are walking to school. I do feel a little sleepy and tired now. "Good morning Kagami, Tsukasa." It's Konata and we turn to see her standing there with that pretty smile of her. "What's wrong Kagami? You don't look so good. Did you stay up last night reading one of your novels?" She asks with an all knowing smirk on her face. Well dear Konata, do I have a surprise for you.

"Good morning Kona-chan. Well, Onee-chan stayed up last night playing with her new computer. I am really jealous too that she got one and I didn't." Well dear sister, it takes you hours to send a text message on a moby so how would you handle a whole computer?! I don't say this all out loud though. I let out a sigh of relief. Tsukasa doesn't know about the game thing yet. Konata is surprised that I now have a PC and she doesn't comment on Tsukasa and computers...really, there is no need to. Konata looks to me and a smile graces her face. "Oh Kagami...I didn't think you were into computers! Why did you ask for one?"

Wait, how did you I asked for it?! Ah forget it, we know each other so well so of course she knows that I asked for it..."Well, I just wanted to try it that's all. Reading all the time gets boring too you know..." I avert my eyes not wanting to see my lying eyes but she knows the truth anyway. "Actually, I tried that game of yours you like so much...It wasn't that great though. I am on level eight already." I can feel the pride in my voice but I still haven't faced her. I can feel her eyes widen though and I can't help the smile that comes forward. I am smiling at the wrong thing though...

"Well, it was interesting enough for you to lose sleep over it, and even played up to level eight." Here, her voice breaks and I am forced to turn to her. There is a disturbing knowledge in her eyes and I don't like it. "Wait...you wouldn't be playing a human rogue named Kyoshirou, would you?"  Okay, you might imagine what kind of reaction I have just made.

"You...It can't be...you are ORT then?" Is the first thing that comes to my lips. Now that I think about it, it was strange for us; two total strangers to get along as well as we did through those few lovely hours.

Poor Tsukasa is left there looking confused at what we are talking about as usual. Really, every day I get amazed that we are really twins. I tell her what I was really doing last night and the happenings in the game and how it turns out that the other person was actually Konata. She smiles and I think that she had gotten it but what she concluded was, "Kona-chan and Onee-chan are like soul mates. You always know what the other is thinking. I wish I had someone like that!" She says and then goes of into her own world. Where did she come up with that? She always says strange things. But now this is making me feel strange. Did we really look like that?

Now that I think about it, it was really highly probable that she and I met last night in the game. From what little I know, people of her level are a world away from the beginners' areas and even though she said she comes back to help from time to time, why did it have to be yesterday, and to help me from all those other beginners?!! I spare a glance to see if Konata was as taken by this as was I but she looked in thought instead. "What are you thinking?" I ask her to get rid of the silence.

She looks at me strangely and after shifting in her intense gaze, she decides to talk. "Well, I was thinking about what Tsukasa said. And you know, I had a really strange dream last night. Kagami had come over to my house for a sleep over. We read some manga, novels and watched a Stra***** Pa*** marathon. When we went off to sleep, it was probably from the anime but we..."Here she pauses to catch our attention...We decided to experiment and before we knew it, we were doing ***** and ****."

By this time, we have reached the school corridors and all the students turn to stare as I have dropped my bag from shock. Poor Tsukasa is almost as red as a tomato and I turn when I hear a "Oh My!" from behind us. When had Miyuki gotten behind us?  My shock turns to anger when I see that Konata was just messing with us. She had on that devious smile and there are thing that you just don't joke about. "Konata...." I growl out her name and seeing the murderous intent in my eyes, runs for her life. I want to take it however and so I give chase.

She stupidly heads for the stairs to the roof and I might add that while she is really athletic, so am I and way taller than her. With this, it is no surprise that I catch her before she heads for the next case of stairs. At the speed that I was going and my uncontrollable power, I can't balance myself and we end up falling. I panic not wanting to injure her so I put my hands at her back and she fall on them instead. My anger is all gone now "I am sorry Konata. Are you okay?" I ask her as we land. She is on her back facing me and me on top of her.

She says nothing and for some reason, I lose my mind too. We just stay there looking at each other. I can't seem to get up or look away from her magnetic green eyes and it has nothing to do with the fact that my arms are pinned behind her. Something passes between us...Something that I can't explain yet and there is an air there. I always tread about these things in books, never thought I would think them too. And just as I think that we are to be stuck there forever, the bell rings and we are brought back to our senses. For some reason, Konata goes red in her face, it's the first time I've seen her get embarrassed and I know I look the same if not worse than her. Stranger still is the fact that we have yet to make any motion of getting up. She is the first to break the silence. "So Kagami, wanna come over this weekend for a St***berry ***ic marathon?" Her usual self is back but there is a serious tone to it and I can't help but shake my head in agreement.

She gets up to let me get my hands free from her back and we stand up finally. She heads down the stairs to go to class and I am left there to my thoughts. Well, it has been a while since we had a sleep over and...Wait...A marathon? Now I remember what she had said not to ling ago. My head can't keep up with the realisation and the last thing I know before I black out is hearing Tsukasa calling to me.

Chapter 4

Title: Promise

ShoujoAi Series

-IV-

Aono x  Matsuri

* * *

Aono was crying but it wasn't because of sadness even if her brother has just died. She was crying because she wasn't feeling as sad as she was supposed to. This was nothing compared to the feelings she had that time long ago when she discovered the body buried under the bricks. She cried in anger at her self for she knew deep down that her real brother died all that time long ago. The boy that has just died was just a fragment, a memory of her real brother.

She was still sad though for even though Yorito was just paper in the wind now, he was still her brother. The sorrow she felt and loneliness was not as strong as then but it was there. Perhaps he was just a memory but he was the reason that she was still hanging on in this world, the world that hated her so much as to sacrifice her for the whole village. Who was she to live for now? It was her brother she lived on. Aono stared at her hands that were getting wet in the rain not knowing what to do anymore.

What was her life anyway? Did she have one to begin with? While she was till human, her life was not in her control. She was brought up as a sacrifice and then she had taken her own life after finding out that her brother had died - Only to be returned to life by the yaka that was supposed to eat her. The yaka that was there in front of her now and the reason her brother had to go. She was the destroyer of her new happier life that she had created for herself. Aono's hands balled as she felt anger take over and take on a new target. Who did Matsuri think she was anyway to play wit her life like this? Why did she bring her back in a world that had no Yorito in it only to decide that should kill her now?

Aono was interrupted by a hand going to her cheek and she looked up to stare into pained lavender eyes. A smile graced that beautiful face as Matsuri closed in to hug Aono. "Let's end this madness Aono. Let's end everything here." She whispered into Aono's ear and the silver haired girl could feel the tiredness in it. She was also aware of the blade in the other hand and knew what Matsuri intended to do. Aono's anger came back with the shock of the affection short lived and caught the hand that had the sword in it before it pierced her flesh.

"I won't let you kill me Matsuri." She hissed at the shocked raven-haired girl. "Why do you think that you can play with my life however you like? Last time I checked you wanted me to live and now that you have al you wanted you decide that I no longer need to live?" Aono formed a punch and connected it to Matsuri's stomach sending her away from her. The sword was in Aono's hand now.

"What...What are you talking about? I wasn't planning on killing you." Matsuri let out in a pained gasp. She saw the incredulous look that Aono was giving her and Matsuri remembered that she had used the word ‘kill' before as she baited Aono to come after her. "That sword has my blood in it and if I pierce you with it, my life will become yours and you can turn back into a human. That is what I wanted to do all along." She forced herself to stand up albeit unsteadily. "I would never think of killing you Aono." She finished in a soft voice and hoped that Aono would believe her.

"Why do you think you can control my fate? Don't I have a say in this? Don't I get to decide how I live my life? Last time you brought me into a world without my brother - The most important in my life. I brought him back to me and you had to come and take him away from me. I hate you!" Aono screamed in pain at her fate and fell on her knees again. More tears came to her eyes.

"Aono I...I..." Matsuri didn't know what to say. Her fears and uncertainty came back to her. This time though, Yorito was not here to assure her that her decision was the right one. She also felt the guilt of everything. Aono had asked her not to get close to her brother again but she had broken that promise and this was what had happened. They had both lost him. She felt that things would not be right but to go back to being alone was unbearable. She couldn't handle being alone again after feeling companionship. Her life before was simply a hell that she didn't hope to repeat.

Matsuri had out of selfishness, brought Aono back from the dead because she didn't want to be alone ever again and here she was, meaning to leave her in a world that had no Yorito in it. She herself was a coward who didn't want to live in this world without him and used this as an excuse to go. Aono had taught her a lot of things about life. She had given her a heart and feelings and this was how she was going to repay her?! "I am sorry Aono." It was the best she could come out with at the moment.

"You are really selfish Matsuri. Because you couldn't handle being alone you turned me into one of your kind. I knew that my brother had died that time and even though I made a copy of him, I still felt that it wasn't him at all. I stayed though, because you asked me to stay - Because you needed me to stay. You are the other reason that I am still here and now you want to return my humanity for what? Whom will I live for if you go too?" Aono finally looked up into Matsuri's eyes and the yaka princess was taken aback by the emotions in those eyes. She stepped forward opening her mouth to say something but she felt her skin burn.

The sun was rising and if they stayed there long, they would be goners. Aono saw this and knew how weak Matsuri was. She made a decision and grabbed the sword. She went over to the kneeling girl and knelt in front of her. They were in the same position as before but the roles reversed now. Aono caressed Matsuri's cheek in her hands and looked deep into those eyes. "I wanted my brother to live for me. You made me into a yaka to live for you. Now I give you your life back so that you may live for me. If you stay alive, then I will still live for you." Aono gently stabbed Matsuri with the sword and it disappeared as her life returned. "I will stay a yaka and keep you company for ever and ever..."

After that, Matsuri collapsed from the effects. The sun was hitting the buildings now and with her decision made, Aono took her into her arms disappeared within the shadows. She went back to where her house had been and after a quick glance around, she used her powers to re-create the house as it was before. When the building was completely restored, Aono with Matsuri in her arms went through the back door that was hidden from the morning rays and headed to her bedroom to rest Matsuri there. The long haired girl's clothes were torn and blood stained from their fight and so Aono decided to change her. They were roughly the same size so her clothes fit the other girl quite well. After that, she placed Matsuri under the covers and went out of the room.

When Matsuri awoke, the first thing she noticed was that she was in a strange room. She was thinking of the sky when she awoke so her thoughts were jumbled when she opened her eyes. She was brought back to her senses and felt sad that she had failed Yorito. She hoped that Yorito would forgive her for being weak willed and leaving him to go alone. She didn't have the resolve to leave Aono either after that plea. Now that she thought about it, what if Aono had just killed herself all over again after being turned into a human against her will! To go and join the dead or to stay with the living - That was the question and there could only be one answer for the living.

There came sounds from somewhere in the house and it was then that Matsuri decided to get up from the bed. She swung her legs over the bed and she realized that she didn't have on her high stockings. This let her discover that the clothes she had on were not hers at all. Judging from the colors, they were Aono's. Where was she anyway? She decided to go and look for the other girl.

She followed the sounds that led her into the kitchen. Once she got there, she was forced to lean on the door frame and stare at the person in the kitchen. There Aono was, in an apron and looking happy as she prepared a meal. This was all normal except that Aono was singing to herself and dancing a little. Aono finally turned and noticed Matsuri's presence but she didn't look that shocked. "Ah! Good morning Matsuri. Here, I made you some breakfast. I was actually about to come and wake you." Matsuri pushed from the door and retuned the greeting. She sat down and they started to eat in silence.

When Matsuri decided to speak, it was not what Aono had expected to come out of her mouth. "Will we ever be able to see the sky?" Matsuri asked. She had planned on seeing the sunrise as she went this morning but that plan was no longer possible. And now the person that had promised her to show it to her was no longer there. Aono paused in her eating. She knew how much the sky meant to Matsuri and it was then that she realized what the other girl had fully planned to do. Aono herself had already seen the blue sky before she had become a yaka but this girl there was a natural born yaka. Aono had to be carefully as she answered that.

"We can see that sky Matsuri." Aono saw Matsuri open her mouth to probably correct her that she meant the daytime sky and she stopped her. "The night sky is a sky too Matsuri. It is taken for granted by many but there is no real difference. The bright sky had the sun to accompany it and the dark sky has the moon. Just as the sunlit sky is watched by humans, the moonlit sky needs us to watch it. Who knows, God might have made us just for this purpose." Aono laughed a bit at that and Matsuri joined her. The tension lessened a bit but Aono knew the other girl needed more convincing. "Also the two skies are connected and the one you see at night is connected to the blue sky. Believe me when I tell you that you aren't missing anything awe-inspiring."

"Thank you Aono but I still want to see it at least for once."

"Matsuri, you do remember that promise Yorito made you to see the sky once, right?" At the nod of a head, Aono continued. "I hereby re-enforce that promise and say to you now, with Yorito in heaven as a witness, that I will show you the blue sky and the sun shining bright above it. Yes, I know what this means but it will be your decision. When you decide that it is time to see it, then tell me and I will go with you when you decide to." Aono put her fork down and laughed a little. "I guess my life belonged to you always, huh?" The last part was spoken so softly Matsuri hard trouble hearing it. She began to protest but was silenced by a soft kiss to her mouth.

After a breathless moment, Aono pulled back a little enough to whisper to a surprised Matsuri. "I am here now and alive because of you literally and figuratively. If you want to leave this world by watching the sun rise, then I will come with you. This is my promise to you Matsuri." Matsuri couldn't help the tears that came to her eyes. Aono would never know how much they meant to her. The thought had crossed her mind many times but she never got the courage to go through with it. She had actually wanted to tell it to Yorito but got afraid of the answer and here Aono was, reading her heart. Yet once again, Aono had taught her another emotion...She didn't know what it was but she planned on asking Aono about it later...For now, she assured the other girl that she was alright and thanked her again for way more than she could ever know and resumed her meal.
