Haruka won’t be back for an hour, Setsuna two, and Hotaru four. That gives me enough time to practice my violin without interruption. I hurriedly set everything up and start to play a song I just wrote. I even sing the words only I shall know.
Through my tree
She rides the
night
Next to me
She leads me
through moonlight
Only to burn me
with the sun
She’s taken my
heart
But she doesn’t
know what she’s done
Why do I feel this way towards you Haruka? Why must I love you when I know you can’t love me back? Though I dare to hope you might… But the chance is very slim.
Her body close to
me
Can’t look in her
eyes
She’s outta my
league
Just a fool to
believe I have anything she needs
She’s like the
wind
Haruka deserves to be happy, so if she doesn’t feel the same, I’ll…I’ll try and ignore it for her. If it weren’t for her friendship, I know I’d go insane.
And all I see
Is a young-old
girl
With only a dream
Am I just fool’ in
myself
That she’ll stop
the pain
Live-in without her
I’d go insane
Haruka, I don’t care if we’re both girls, I’m in love with you anyways. But you may have a problem with it…
Her body close to
me
Can’t look in her
eyes
She’s outta my
league
Just a fool to
believe I have anything she needs
She’s like the
wind
Feel your breath
in my face
You’re body close
to me
Can’t look in your
eyes
You’re outta my
league
Just a fool to
believe
She’s like the
wind
Just a fool to
believe
Just a fool to
believe
She’s like the
wind
Just a fool to
believe
I sigh dejectedly when I feel a hand land on my shoulder…
I’m so lucky I got through the routines an hour early. I hate being away from Michiru for so long. She’ll never feel the same towards me as I do for her though…
I open the door to hear Michiru playing a beautiful new song…And singing?! Yep, defiantly singing. And does she sing beautifully!
I move in closer to hear better, ready to compliment her on her new song and beautiful singing, when I hear the words…
Just a fool to believe
I wonder… Does this song have special meaning? She’s like the wind… She always associates me with the wind! I’m gonna take my chances and tell her I love her.
I gently lay a hand on her shoulder, and she turns to look at me, startled beyond belief.
“Michiru?” Haruka asks me.
“Yes?”
“I have something very important I need to tell you…” She continues.
“What?” I ask, dreading the answer.
“I…I…” Haruka begins. I hold my breath.
Haruka sighs, “I love you Michiru.”
Haruka can feel tears threatening to fall after a minute with no reaction but shock on my face.
After a minute, I realize I haven’t said or done anything. I then see the tears in her eyes and realize she must think I don’t feel the same…
Haruka stands up to leave, when I pull her to me in a gentle hug and let my own tears fall.
“I love you too Haruka,” I say, looking into her eyes.
And then Haruka kissed me. A soft, gentle kiss. I wrap my arms around her neck, as hers wrap around my waist.
When we break apart for air, both of us smiling, happier then we have ever been, we hear the door open, and a smiling Setsuna walks in, and I know that she knew this was going to happen.
