Chapter 1

[Author's notes: This is my first Story on Devianthearts, and man, there are alot of good stories written on this site. I am open to all advice about my story.]

I sit here in class, waiting impatiently for something interesting to happen. I have been waiting for two whole hours and still, nothing. I stare out the window. Such a beautiful day, and I’m trapped here in school, with no change of clothes for me to play outside in. I glance over to watch a bird fly so free, when suddenly something comes out of the sky and goes crashing to the ground taking the bird down with it. Quickly after, the ground shook violently.

“Get down! Everybody get down!” My teacher screams above the sound of everything tumbling to the ground. Everybody, including me, got down on our knees and held our heads for protection. Everyone in that room; Atheist, Christians, Buddhists and whatnot, were now praying not to die. Just as soon as it had come, it left, leaving all of us traumatized.

My teacher slowly got up and whispered under his breath, “What the hell was that?” Everyone, each at their own pace, began to stand with their own thoughts preoccupying their minds. I turned to the door hearing some faint screeching sound approaching the door. The sound stopped once it was right outside the door. I got up and slowly walked to the door, not many people noticing, and peeked through the window of the door. What I saw completely surprised me. It was a white bird. How strange?  I thought. Could it have flown inside the school? I open the door, and it wasn’t startled at all. It just stood there staring at me with it’s pitch black eyes. I squinted. That’s not a real bird, it’s a doll.  I bent down to pick it up, revealing a small human with wings.

“A fairy?” I gasped. The fairy seemed to glance around making sure that I was talking about it. Once it realized that I really had noticed it, it quickly flew down the empty hall. “Wait! You are real! I’m NOT crazy!” I yelled at it trying to get it to stop. It turned a corner and I followed in hot pursuit. That’s when I hit a body really hard with my own, so hard the wind was knocked out of me for a minute.

“Oof!” I heard a feminine voice, and look up to find a girl with short dirty- blond hair wearing a green shirt and shorts and what appeared to be a knife by her waist. I blinked, rubbed my eyes, then pinched myself.

“N-no way, Peter Pan?” I was able to mumble out the words in my disbelief. In hearing what I said she flew up to my face with a piercing stare.

“You knew my father?” she asked, not showing a hint of sarcasm. I could only return her stare with the look of confusion. Her ability to fly was proof that she was indeed the daughter of the most famous childhood story, but I just had to ask the question.

“U-uh, you are Peter Pan’s daughter?” She noticed my confusion and her stare softened a little.

“Yes. I am Patti. Patti Pan.” She held out a hand and helped me to my feet. “I must say, that is one heck of a run you got there girly!” She flashed a grin at me, making me giggle.

“Well I was just curious about your fairy, I didn’t want her to fly away.” I smiled at her, as the fairy hid behind Patti. “I’m sorry to announce that my name is not Wendy. My name is Logan. Logan Peers.” She was eyeing me the whole time I spoke, seeming quite intrigued. She flew up to my face and gently placed a hand on my hair, lightly stroking it. I froze shocked at her hand that moved to my face. I blushed feeling her breath on my lips.

“I have never seen another girl other than myself. I must say that I know what father was talking about now. ‘Beautiful creatures with soft long hair and soft skin.’ Your hair is as gold as the sun, and your eyes as blue as the sky. Truly amazing.” Her green eyes looking right through me as if I were naked. She was done examining my face, she was now beginning to look downward. My blush deepened.

Luckily the bell rang before her eyes had lingered too long. She took my hand and led me to a window. “Come with me.” Her whisper sent shivers down my spine. It sounded of much pain and loneliness. It sounded just like the plea of my own heart.

I considered it for a few moments, knowing we did not have much time. I reviewed my life in seconds. I was a smart kid who was currently living on my own due to the unexpected death of both of my parents. I honestly did not have a lot to leave behind, so I leaned over and whispered in her ear, “Take me away.”
